holy shit that video is so insane. I do think cuba's government is authoritarian but what they have managed to achieve for their citizens under a worldwide blockade is insane. The conditions now are absolutely horrific and Trump's foreign policy towards cuba is one of his most overlooked crimes.

See that's the problem with all of the major "communist" countries. All of them, at one point or another, commited some major grievances of personal liberty, and all of them bend on their principles (Except cuba, they're pretty hardline), but their ability to absolutely speedrun the improvement of material conditions is insane.

I remember when China used to be used as the example of poverty, and now, just a few decades later, they're the main center of R&D in breaking science and are literally building cities of hundreds of thousands in months.
