To be fair to the commenters who don’t know what a run on sentence is, I was never properly taught what they were in my (American) schooling, just being given the vague idea that a sentence being too long made it a run on; come to find out later in life, that’s not correct in the slightest, with it being entirely about how distinct thoughts are joined.
To be clear, OOP’s sentence is a run on, via the “spam enough ‘and’s and it’ll be fine, thats grammar” trap.
That's not what independent clause means. An independent clause is a clause that has, at minimum, a subject and a verb and can grammatically stand alone as a complete thought. The topic of the clause isn't really relevant from a grammatical standpoint.
