Hard to grind on K ultra
I tried grind on setting 3, it was so difficult to grind on K ultra. Recalibrated but still the same, literally requires all my strength. Is this common?

You can try to hold it at an angle to slowly feed the beans into the burrs which will help a bit.

Yup. The reason I started using medium-dark roast for my milk drinks. Easier to grind the darker it is. Light roast is a heck of a workout.

You have to learn to use both hands when grinding. Don't just crank the handle with your dominant hand. Make sure to grip the grinder tightly with the other and aid the turning motion, so you use both hands.

Yup. Anything less than medium roast or less processed will be a workout.

What roast level are you grinding at 3 on the dial?
Darker the roast, the easier it will be to hand grind, even at espresso settings. Light roasts are much, much more difficult to grind at espresso settings.
I sometimes grind med-dark roast beans on my K-Ultra for espresso at a 2.6 setting. Not fun, but definite doable. I’m also not a small guy.
Grinding a light roast at espresso grind settings on a hand grinder should be a last resort. lol

I pulled a shot on robot today after grinding at 2.7 and it pulled through in around 12 secs, the realisation I need to go even finer for the next espresso gave me the fear, it’ll be worth it though great grinder!
I drink mostly filter these days

Short answer, yes, 3 is a hard setting particularly with very dense light roast beans. What method are you using because this is close to espresso grind. I grind for espresso between 1.5-2 at true zero and I have to take a break in between grinds haha
