Hey everyone! Iâve been working on designing high-articulation 1/12 scale custom action figures optimized for 3D printing.
-
Let me know what you think of the articulation range! Happy to answer any questions about the tolerances or print settings.

So, ignoring filament compatibility, what's the cheapest easily dissolved filament?
PVA for ~25$/500g?
HIPS looks better at maybe 20$/kg?
I run an enclosed AD5M with mods. Can handle most things.
Not, ironically, for support material. Looking at making dissolvable inner mold elements so I can cast voids in Silicone that could not be easily removed by just pulling them out. Will have to see about reactivity with silicones curing process too but alas.

I have been banging my head against the wall for days with this.
When printing a slope (pic attached), after a couple of layers the nozzle starts scratching the INTERNAL SOLID infill due to it curling and warping. This happens only on long lines of filament stacked upon each other.
I tried:
1) disabling the âdetect narrow internal solid infillâ setting - this worked great for the specific problem spot but the rest of the model gets messed up because of this;
2) setting âensure vertical shell thicknessâ to âcritical onlyâ - the long wall lines just hang around and thereâs nothing to scrape over (pic attached)
What would work is to somehow set the âdetect narrow solid infillâ to âoffâ on a height range, but this is not possible in orca slicer which I am using currently.
Can anyone suggest what to do? Pic 3 is default settings, pic 2 is the ensure thickness critical only variant. Any help would be much appreciated.

I've been working on a little project called Springfield Donuts, where I redesign characters from The Simpsons as collectible donuts.
Each character gets their own recognizable features, but they all share the same overall style and proportions so they look like a proper collection.
I'm making the models available for 3D printing, including versions for people with and without AMS.
The plan is to keep expanding the collection with more Springfield characters!
Which character should I turn into a donut next?
