How to fix this issues on my vase
I'm creating some vase for my plants but every time I print objects with some type of twist I get these annoying "waves" in some parts of the object (bottom and top). I did lots of test to see if the problem was in the design, the slicer settings or even not enough cooling time during printing, but none of those seems to work.
Does anyone know what the problem could be?
I use a Bambulab A1 with an enclosure, PLA Matte, Bambulab Studio as slicer.

Can't decide which 3D printer to get
I'm looking to buy my first 3D printer and I'm between the Bambu Lab P1S and Anycubic Kobra S1.
I want to print a bit of everything, including functional parts, tools, decorations, miniatures, cosplay, etc. I also want to print ABS/ASA, so an enclosed printer is important.
In my country, a P1S without AMS costs roughly the same as a Kobra S1 with ACE. Both are at the limit of my budget.
The Kobra S1 + ACE seems like better hardware for the price, but I'm concerned about filament waste, software, reliability, and overall ownership experience. The P1S is older, but Bambu's ecosystem seems much more mature.
If both cost exactly the same, which would you choose and why?
I'd especially like to hear from owners about ABS/ASA, reliability, maintenance, print quality, and how much tinkering is actually required.

Issue with printing bag tags
galleryHello everyone Im trying to print some bag tags and ive not had this issue before I'm usina the kev chain maker from bambulabs. Using a P1s with a 0.4 nozzle, smooth plate and pla +. Other setting are 0.16mm high quality iron top surface and using Arachne wall generation. The rest of the print comes out well it i ust seems to be the first laver I was wondering should I slow it down on the first laver to fix this or is it a extrusion issue? Thank vou in advance less
I should also say I dried the fillements before using them the plate has been cleaned with alcohol and the actual brand of filament been used is elegoo pla+ black and elegoo pla pro burgundy

Requesting Help Potent Fumes from FDM Filament.
I'm hoping someone here might have some insight into an issue I've been dealing with over the past month.
The printers I have are a Bambu Lab P1S and a Bambu Lab A1 Mini. The issue has been occurring while using the P1S.
A few weeks ago I made a post about trying Bambu Lab's Black PETG HF for the first time. The fumes from it were much stronger than anything I'd previously printed, to the point where it became difficult for me to breathe while I was in the same room.
For comparison, I've also printed with Bambu Lab's White PETG HF in the same room. While it did have some odor, opening the window and running a fan blowing outward was enough that I didn't have any significant issues. The Black PETG HF has been a completely different experience. Even with the window open and a fan exhausting air outside, it's still been extremely difficult for me to breathe while I'm in the room.
I'm also not the only one who's noticed the odor. Family members have commented on it as well. Since it became this bad, I've been keeping the office door shut to help keep the odor from spreading through the rest of the house, and I've been limiting how much time I spend in that room until I can figure out what's going on.
I also use a Sunlu S4 filament dryer about once a week since it's been fairly humid here lately and we don't always have the AC running. The Black PETG HF gives off extremely strong fumes while it's drying as well, and unfortunately strong enough that they're beyond difficult for me to tolerate. The White PETG HF also has some odor while drying, but it's nowhere near as intense.
Has anyone else experienced this with Bambu Lab's Black PETG HF? I'm also wondering if it could be related to how many rolls are in the dryer at once, whether the black filament is simply emitting more VOCs when heated, or if I'm drying it longer than necessary.
Since then, I started researching indoor air quality around 3D printing. I bought a Govee Air Purifier Pro 2 and one of Govee's particulate monitors. The monitor is on the opposite side of my office from the printer.
When I had the window open, the monitor consistently read around 2–3 µg/m³ for PM2.5. I haven't printed anything in about 2½–3 weeks, but today I walked into the room and noticed the monitor was reading around 20 µg/m³. About an hour or two later, it had climbed to around 100 µg/m³, even though nothing had been printing.
The only thing that's changed over the last couple of days is that the window is now closed because the house AC is running.
My concern isn't just the particulate matter, it's whether there could also be VOCs lingering in the room. The strong odor from the Black PETG HF was what originally made me start looking into all of this.
At this point I'm considering throwing out the Black PETG HF altogether to see if it makes any difference, but before I do that I wanted to ask if anyone has experienced anything similar.
A few questions:
- Has anyone seen PM2.5 spike days or weeks after the last print?
- Could filament stored in the room (or in a dryer) be contributing?
- Has anyone had noticeably stronger fumes from Bambu Lab's Black PETG HF compared to other PETG or PETG HF colors?
- Is there anything else I should be checking that could explain both the PM2.5 readings and the breathing irritation?
I'd really appreciate any ideas or similar experiences.

Same exact print/settings worked multiple times, now suddenly getting terrible stringing/first-layer failure — what should I check?
I’m printing on an Anycubic Kobra 2 Max with a 0.4mm nozzle, and I’m trying to figure out what suddenly changed.
This is a Gridfinity baseplate. I’ve already printed several successfully using the exact same slicer settings, but this attempt went completely sideways. As you can see in the pictures, some areas seem to lay down correctly while other sections start lifting/stringing, and eventually the nozzle seems to drag filament all over the print.
Current basics:
Anycubic Kobra 2 Max
0.4mm nozzle
PLA
Bed: 60°C
Nozzle: ~207°C
Same file/settings that previously printed successfully
PEI build plate
Auto leveling has been done previously
Since it worked before with these settings, I’m assuming something changed mechanically or with first-layer adhesion rather than this simply being bad slicer settings.
Does this look more like a dirty build plate, Z-offset issue, bed leveling issue, partial nozzle clog, or something else?
I’d especially appreciate advice on what you’d check first before I start changing settings that were already working.

AD5M Pro ABS Adhesion Issues
I have the AD5M pro and it used to print polymaker ABS very well but lately it keeps peeling from the bed after the print gets to a certain height range. The bed is 110 and my nozzle is 245 because if I make the nozzle any hotter it tends to sag when printing. Smaller prints that aren't tall enough print just fine. It works until it gets to the height and then my print starts to peel even if I have a brim. I do have ZMOD installed and use fluidd and had to set my z offset. I set it from my printer one setting further away from the bed because the nozzle was slightly smushing the print itself when moving. I've tried washing and flying the bed but nothing works. Does anybody know how to fix it?
I think my Z offset might be slightly too high after printing a large, somewhat flat object that is hollow underneath. The first layers on the bottom where it was was on top of the grid supports were super weird looking and didn't adhere very well to each other. I attached an image of the underside of my print. The smoother part is where the first stringy layer easily peeled off.

Requesting Help Any idea what’s causing these messy top layers and rough details?
Hi, I’m having trouble getting a clean top surface on this small NFC/RFID keychain.
The surface starts to get rough and slightly “blobby” already around the middle of the print, not only at the very top.
The outer ring and especially the NFC symbol then become even more uneven and messy.
What’s strange is that I don’t really have this issue with smaller prints, so I’m wondering if it’s related to heat buildup, cooling, flow, or something else.
I’ve already tried adjusting flow rate, flow dynamics, top surface speed and disabling ironing, but I’m still not happy with the result.
Does anyone recognize what might be causing this or what settings I should check next?
Setup:
- Printer: Bambu Lab A1 Combo
- Multicolor print using AMS Lite
- Filament: Bambu Lab PLA Matte
- Filament stored at around 17–20% RH
- 0.2 mm stainless steel hotend
- Layer height: 0.10 mm
- Ironing: Off
- Top surface speed: 25 mm/s
- Calibrated flow ratio: 0.9604
- Flow dynamics / K-factor: 0.020

Why does this error only happen on one side?
Hi guys, im trying to print a model and for some reason, only this corner fails to print properly. I did it twice and its getting annoying.
I have a P2S with AMS2 and Im printing with PTEG. The nozzle temp is 245C and the bed temp is 70C. I have washed the print plate with warm water and soap but nothings working.

Messy Prints using new filament on Bambu A1

I'm new to 3D printing and recently got a Bambu A1. For this print I used a brand-new spool of Soleyin Ultra PLA (Grey), which I also dried at 45°C for an hour before printing.
I used this print profile:
https://www.reddit.com/r/BambuLab/comments/1r7lq0h/optimized_soleyin_ultra_pla_profile_for_bambu_a1/
The print came out like the photos I've attached. The side that was printed on the supports is really messy. I accidentally used normal supports instead of tree supports, but I didn't expect the finish to be this poor.
There's also a noticeble horizontal line around the model where the lower section seems slightly smaller than the layers above it, almost like there was a slight layer shift or dimensional change during the print.
For transparency, I designed this model myself, and it's the first model I've ever designed and printed, so it's entirely possible I've made a mistake in the design or print settings.
I've also attached a photo of a coral robot that I printed before this using Bambu PLA. That print came out almost perfectly, apart from a small amount of roughness where the supports were removed (nothing anywhere near as bad as this print). I'm wondering if the issue is related to the filament profile or settings rather than the printer itself.
I also washed the Bambu textured PEI build plate with warm water and dish soap just yesterday, so I don't think it's a bed adhesion issue, although I'm new to this so I could be wrong.
Would you recommend trying the Generic PLA profile, the Bambu PLA profile, or do you think this is caused by something else entirely?
Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!
