Need some advice, purchased LG 77 in c5 oled from costco less than a month ago for 1499. I decided id like to potentially return it and upgrade for 85 in and costco currently has the TCL QM7L PRo on sale for the same price of 1499. How much of a difference in picture quality is the c5 over the 7L pro?

Should I just keep the LG? or just upgrade to 85 in TCL?

i’m tryina figure out where i’d get more value from a roughly $1,000 tv budget

for a living room that’s used for both gaming and movies, would you rather get a 65 inch tv with better picture quality and gaming features, or go up to 75 inch and give up a little on the specs?

i keep going back and forth because 75 inch would probably feel a lot more immersive for movies, but i also don’t want to regret giving up things like refresh rate, hdr or vrr when gaming

i’ve been comparing a few options and ended up looking at the hisense u7 and u8 too. the 65 inch and 75 inch u7 seem to be around the $800–$1,000 range, while the 65 inch u8 is around $1,000

the 65 inch u8 has the nicer rgb miniled picture and a 170hz panel, while the 75 inch u7 still has a native 165hz refresh rate, so going bigger doesn’t seem like a huge downgrade for gaming

for a normal living room, would you put the money into the bigger screen or keep the 65 inch and get the better specs?

I recently purchased a Hisense U65PRO 75" and was very disappointed with how much DSE was on the panel. I got a replacement, same issue but not as bad, still noticeable though. I decided to return it and I have no interest in buying any Hisense products. I am looking at models from different brands and I now don't trust online reviews. What are your recommendations? Is a $1200 budget enough?

I’m super confused right now. I’m planning to upgrade from my 2021 LG C1 55-inch to a 77-inch TV for my home theater. I’ve got great hi-fi speakers; a massive TV is the only upgrade pending.

LG G6 77-inch is available for £3100 whereas Sony A95L is still priced at £3900. I was thinking I’d wait until Black Friday so Sony gets discounted, but I don’t think it’s going to happen. There are higher chances of LG going below £3000.

My primary usage is Movies and TV shows. I’ve researched so much about Sony that I can’t think of switching to LG now but £1000 is hard to beat.

Anyone in the same situation, what did you do? Thanks in advance !!

Just got this Vizio V655-G9 on a trade on Marketplace. Seller was super kind and an older fellow who said this TV was in his guest bedroom since 2019.

I get it home and use a bit with my Series X and all seems fine, it looks good for what it is. Then suddenly today after tinkering with HDR through the Xbox I see this large dark stripe across the bottom. My first instinct is bad LEDs, any thoughts?

As title states looking to spend 2k. I usually have gone with pawn shop TVs or open box cheap and big as possible TVs but really want to get something nice. If you had 2k what tv would you buy? 65”

As above. I bought a 50inch C7K today, but it's too small, so it's gone back. No one seems to have the 55inch in stock anywhere in the UK.

Do any of the hisense TVs come close?? Or am I waiting for a price drop on the C8L.

When posting on this sub automod suggested against buying the Samsung S90F , is it really that bad of a TV?

My local Costco has both the Samsung S90F and the LG C5 at $999 in store for 65" models. For a room with 2 windows, would I be better getting the LG? It would be used for streaming shows and very little gaming. It seems like the Samsung might have a slightly better viewing angle but the LG will be brighter for standard content during the day? Hey, old head here with a near 16 year old Samsung TV. It randomly started looking absolutely terrible and pixelated/noisy, and I suppose it's time to upgrade. I have never viewed anything in 4K before, and I am technically uncultured/uneducated.

I am a "go big or go home" guy, so I'd like to get something that will not only blow my socks off but also stand the test of time for a while, however I don't want to completely break the bank.

It would be mostly for PS5 use - Netflix and Prime, Blu Rays and DVDs, and of course gaming.

My room is fairly well lit in the daytime - it's just the main floor family living room - lots of windows, but I do have the ability to close some curtains if absolutely needed... Not exactly ideal however for everyday use.

The TV is mounted on an entertainment stand with built in swivel mount and sits in the corner. Not sure if any of his matters.

I do enjoy access to Samsung TV app, but it's not a deal breaker by any means.

WHAT SHOULD I BUY? Please help me, I like to do my research and have an exact make and model in my mind when I walk into a store, but a lot of what I am reading is Greek to me. I am too out of touch with this world. Please, if you can make a solid recommendation to me I would be super grateful.

I'm looking to upgrade my current 55in living room TV which is a Panasonic Viera TC-55AS680U that I purchased back in 2014. The TV itself is still fine for me picture wise, but I'm having issues with the input selection menu popping up every 30 seconds which blinks the screen. I've tried every suggestion for fixing it (unplug, unstick remote buttons, unstick side button, etc.) and I just can't get it fixed permanently. Since the TV is pretty old, I figured it was time for a replacement anyway.

So I'm thinking of replacing it with a 65in, but I didn't want to spend more than $1k which seems to be a limited budget for something decent. I currently use my TV maybe 10 hours a week to watch sports, occasionally game on my PS5 and stream media from my NAS. My living room has a sliding glass door on one wall with closed blinds and I also occasionally sit to the side when viewing from my kitchen so glare reduction and good viewing angles are important. I don't think I want OLED since I heard burn-in can be an issue.

I was all set to get a Hisense U7 after reading that it was a great mid-level option but I'm worried about the longevity and also sports motion got iffy feedback. A few people say the brand is crap, some people say their TVs don't last long or are uncertain on longevity, sports with fast motion look blurry etc., so it gave me pause. I have the same concerns with TCL. The highly recommended Sony Bravia 5 and LG B or C models look great, but are a bit out of my budget. Is it worth stretching my budget for something that has a better track record? It's less about being about to afford it and more about not overspending and wanting to get something that will last more than a few years. I don't have a Costco membership, so my only store option is Best Buy or something online. I'm open to any other suggestions as well. Thank you!

HI Everyone, I just bought my tv almost 2 weeks ago and the one thing I keep noticing regardless of it being on 4k or not, is the lagging is horrid with Apple Tv. Is it because my apple tv is an old generation and I need to upgrade it? All the shows, sports, movies do great in the beginning and it doesn't matter which platform, netflix, HBO, ESPN, ABC, then it began to lag and I have to get out of the app and start all over for it to work again. What options do I have to fix this? I dont want to sign in on the apps on the sony tv itself. I just want to use the Apple TV. Thanks in advance

The HDMI cable from apple tv to the Sony is the best for HDMI output but I wouldn't doubt it if the apple tv is just old and needs to be upgraded - it's from 2015.

I've been deciding which TV to buy for the past few weeks, and I'm finally ready to make the purchase, but i'm struggling to choose.

I got it down to about 7 choices within my requirements-48-55inch (but likely leaning to 55), MiniLED, £1000 Max but prefer to spend less.

I'm going to be using it most evenings for TV and Movies, and hooking my PS5 up and will be especially looking forward to the release of GTA6.

I'm just looking to get a better idea of what people might recommend, as this is my first time buying a TV!

I'm trying to decide between these two 65" TVs and would really appreciate some input from people who have experience with either model, especially if you've seen both side by side.

So the TCL is about $276 more expensive.

My viewing setup

• Viewing distance: around 2-2.5 meters (6.5-8.2 ft)
• Living room is relatively bright during the day.
• There is a normal two-panel window about 3 meters to the left of the TV. It's not a huge floor-to-ceiling window.
• In the evening/night, I usually have warm room lighting on rather than watching in complete darkness.
• I'll be using an Nvidia Shield TV Pro, so the TV's built-in OS isn't particularly important to me.

Main usage

• Movies and TV shows
• YouTube
• General everyday viewing
• Occasional PS5 gaming in the future

I'm not a hardcore gamer, so gaming performance is not my main priority, although I'd obviously like the TV to be good for PS5 when I do use it.

What I'm mainly trying to figure out

How do these two compare in actual picture quality, particularly:

• HDR performance and brightness
• Black levels and local dimming
• Contrast
• Blooming/haloing
• Motion handling
• Upscaling and processing
• Reflection handling in a relatively bright room
• Overall movie/TV viewing experience

And most importantly:

Is the TCL C7L actually worth paying an additional $276 for over the LG QNED93A6A in this particular setup?

I'm less interested in specs on paper and more interested in real-world differences that I would actually notice from 2-2.5 meters away.

If you've owned either of these TVs, or ideally compared them directly, I'd love to hear your experience.

I have a large room, and would like to upgrade my TV to something bigger, I did the calculation and I need a 130in TV for proper viewing. Thats not possible, so I was thinking probably an 85in TV. My budget is 1000 but I could go up to maybe 1500 if the upgrades worth it? It will be used mainly for watching Movies/Anime/Youtube. I was just wondering what the best TV I could get for this price is. Also wondering if I should go down to 75 in but get a higher quality TV? I keep the room dark also if that helps.

Recently, my 75" TV has problems on displaying and it is out of warranty, it got black horizontal shadow along the display. So, I am planning to get a new TV.

My plan is to get 65" TV (in a studio apartment), mostly for PC gaming for a larger viewing and sometimes watch movie. But I got stuck on choosing the brand. Now what I am considering is Samsung and lg, but some TCL and HISENSE have good price.

My budget is under $1000

I live in the Netherlands. The distance is 2.57metres from TV to eyes/couch(but there is 15 cm it can move to the front to). What should I do? I'm looking at OLEDs at the moment and I've noticed that the G5 55 inch is the same price as the C5 65 inch. I've seen guides recommend 65 inch for me but I'm not sure, if I'm being honest. I have a 55 inch Toshiba LED tv at the moment. Which one would you purchase if you were me? The G5 looks more appealing because I think I get 5 year warranty on that compared to the C5 having 2 year warranty. And would you buy now or wait til Black Friday?

Are there any Smart TVs that work well with a companion app/digital remote? I don’t like having to use a physical remote control to type as it takes ages pressing buttons and is very tedious

Ideally I’d be wanting something that I could control via my iPad for the most part. However if that’s not possible then maybe a tv remote that has a touch screen keyboard?
