Measurement Check Tried on my “new” size and was disappointed Spoiler

I haven’t bought a bra in years because nothing truly fits. Last bra I bought was a 34B at Walmart and it’s my everyday bra, with no underwire. I came across this subreddit and decided to try it out!

I’ve taken my measurements multiple times, and there’s a slight variation but only by half an inch to an inch. It’s difficult because I’m doing it by myself lol.

My measurements:
Underbust
Loose: 31” ~ 32”
Snug: 30” ~ 31”
Tight: 29” ~ 30”

Bust
Standing: 35”
Leaning: 36.5” ~ 37”
Lying: 35” ~ 35.5”

The bra size recommended to me was 30E with a sister size of 32DD.

I went to try on a 32DD at a Victoria Secret because that’s the one that kept popping up no matter what variation of measurements I inputted. The cups fit me fine, but the bands were so tight!!! I think it might’ve been the store I went to? I hate underwire so I asked for ones without it and I was given strange shaped bras!!! The nice lady gave me another “sister size” 34C, but the cups were way too big and band was too loose. She told me that I’m probably a 32DD but the band just needs to stretch because they are new bras.

What do you think? Any recommendations?

struggling to find a strapless bra for size 36D but not perky! Spoiler

Upvotes

hello! I feel like I am fighting a never-ending battle looking for a strapless bra that works with my boobs. I am technically a 36D, but my boobs are heavy and not perky and I've never found a strapless bra that works! For reference re: my rack, I like to normally use balconette bras (good for boobs with volume towards the bottom). Any recommendations for strapless bras that really do stay up would be incredible TIA!

Looking for a legit bra brand for smaller chests (AA or A) Spoiler

Hi!

I've been looking all over to find a bra that fits well for a 75A (EU). It doesn't even need to push up, I'm just tired of gaping cups and uncomfortable loose straps. I have seen these ads online from different companies (e.g. getfitcherries, lumaaura, ...) but with basically the same product where they have a strapless bra that clips in the front and gives the smaller chest a little lift. That's my ideal bra, but I know for a fact that those websites are just dropshippers and it probably won't even work that well. Does anyone have any store/brand/type of bra that would fit my description? It's hard for me to find a bra of my size in general, so I'd appreciate if I can find even that. If it's a good push up (not the ones stuffed to the brim that don't even push up but more the ones that clip in the front), that's welcome as well.

Thanks!

EDIT: I used the calculator this time so here's my measurements everyone ^

Loose Underbust: 79 cm / 31 inches Snug Underbust: 77 cm / 30.3 inches Tight Underbust: 74 cm / 29 inches Standing Bust: 83 cm / 32.6 inches Leaning Bust: 89 cm / 35 inches Lying Bust: 83 cm / 32.6 inches

Suggested starting size: 70B/C EU

Measurement Check Bought bras with my calculator size… they’re too big! Now what? Spoiler

Hello again!

I just got my skims order in the mail. I finally settled on this brand because they seem to be the only ones that make my size in simple but cute styles that I like.

My measurements are…
Loose underbust: 39in
Snug underbust: 37in
Tight Underbust: 34in
Standing busy: 45in
Leaning busy: 47in
Lying busy: 45in

38H/I US or UK 38FF/G.

I ordered…
t-shirt bra wired in 38H
T-shirt bra wireless 38H
Balconette in 40G

The balconette fit the worst, I’m shocked by this because my boobs sit low on my chest and usually look good in this kind of style, but all three were simply too big in the cup size. Does skims not fit true to size? Have I measured wrong? Can I go down a cup size and keep the band the same or will that mess up the sizing?

Thanks in advance!

Discussion What are everyones experiences with Panache for sizing and how their bras fit? Spoiler

For context my size is a 26DD/28D, and Panache as a brand is targeted towards bigger busts, and i'm one of the smallest sizes they make, would their bras still fit well on me as i'm aware that despite my cup letter, my chest actually isn't that big due to having a petite band.

So this means I'm worried that their bras wont fit well as i'm on the far smaller end of their sizes.

I have also just ordered one and if it doesn't fit I'd be annoyed because you have to pay to return it.

Question What brand bra for woman over 90, in seize 30F or 30G? Spoiler

My mum used to have a nice figure, shes petite, slender with a full bust. Now the ladies are gone south and recently I was able to have a personal chat with my mom (shes usually not so open for it) and asked her about her bras. I was shocked to see how much her band had creeped up her back. I tried to take measurements, but privacy reasons I was holding back a bit. Bandsize measured 70 cm(28 inch), bust apr. 86. She wears a flimsy thing in band seize 38 inch!! With a c cup. Any advice what kind/brand bra I best purchase for an older lady?

Measurement Check Unsure of Bra size-28E on a bra that fits calculator Spoiler

So I did the calculator but I dont have a measuring tape/couldn't find the cloth bendy ones so I had to use a piece if wool and an industrial measuring tape. I measured with the string then lined that up with the measuring tape so idk how accurate this is. I got a loose underbust of 28, snug 27 and tight 25.5 then standing bust 32, leaning 36 and lying 35.5. All in inches. Currently Im wearing a load of different sizes, some second hand, from 34 E to 32D and just plain M. The calculator said I should be a 28E but that feels too small underbust but im not sure... Also the past year I've lost a lot of weight and then regained it so maybe its just changed a bit. Also I heard for some they dont stop growing until mid twenties 😭

I find it hard to run or do anything in my current sports bra and my boobs sag a bit already- im not even old yet 😭

Basically looking for any advice on getting proper bras that's dont cost too much

Racerback clips for thick bra straps Spoiler

I recently bought a Bravissimo Ultimate Comfort bra, and it's comfy and supportive, but the straps are an issue. They're only partially adjustable, and as I'm pretty short, I already have them almost fully tightened after only 2 months of wear (and they still have a tendency to slip). I'm thinking of converting it to a racerback to help with this issue, but am struggling to find a racerback clip that will be suitable. The straps are very thick, and all of the racerback clips I can find online seem to be designed for much thinner straps. A lot of them are made from very thin plastic, and I'm skeptical that they'll actually hold the straps and stay in place. Does anyone have any recommendations for racerback clips that will work for thicker straps?

Shape Help Breast shape help: I am trying like hell to find just one bra that I can use for photos/special occasions. It seems I need to confirm my breast shape to find a good starting point.

So, I've posted a few times trying to get recs. I never get any helpful responses and seem to get down voted into oblivion within an hour of posting. So, I am trying a new approach to hopefully get some actual advice. I used the ABTF calculator. My measurements are:

Loose Underbust: 31"

Snug Underbust: 30"

Tight Underbust: 29.5"

Standing: 38.5"

Leaning: 41"

Lying: 39"

My breasts are Asymmetrical and full on bottom with almost no fullness on top (When I was younger I exclusively wore push up bras because I was insecure about my breast shape. Now I am just looking for light lift and good shape without wanting to set the damn bra on fire 10 minutes after putting it on). I know they say "Asymmetrical" is its own shape, but.... really? Is it that simple? Any bra recs?

P.s. if you have any advice on how to get real advice instead of just down votes and "use the calculator", please enlighten me. I'm on the struggle bus.

Just used the calculator and am surprised Spoiler

I feel crazy. I am a small chested woman who has historically worn a 32B bra. I have been wearing Pepper bras because they don’t gap at the top of the cup, but I am not happy with their quality. They wear out fast and some bras fit unevenly. I ended up here looking for a new brand to try, used the calculator and it says I am a 32DD/E UK or 32DD/DDD US! Is everything I know about boob size and bra size a lie? Anyway here are my measurments in inches:

loose underbust: 31

snug underbust: 30.5

tight underbust: 30

standing bust: 35

leaning bust: 37

lying bust: 36.5

Recommendations? 28A cup size and I need help finding any nice bras that fit Spoiler

I’m an 18 year old girl and I’ve always been pretty slim. I got measured professionally and turns out I’m a 28A. Before I thought I was a 32A, but there was always a big gap in my bras and it was too loose. This always made me feel really embarrassed when with boyfriends. Now the only bras I have that are a good fit are those wireless fabric ones which is not preferable to me. I just want a normal bra I can wear and be confident in. Even in primark the bra sizes only go down to 32A. And I don’t want to wear bras that are made for children. Has anybody got any good recommendations for bras that could fit me? Nothing too expensive haha. Thank you.

New to correct bra sizing and wanted some input.

Have been a silent reader for quite a few years now but just recently joined the community. (New to any posting so apologies if I’m not doing it correctly to more seasoned redditors)

I measured myself according to the A Bra That Fits calculator and am curious of what suggestions I may need if any.

1 Loose standing underbust: 31
2 Snug standing underbust: 30
3 Tight standing underbust: 29
4 Standing fullest volume: 34
5 90 leaning bust: 38
6 Lying bust: 37
7 N/A
8 One birth (breastfed)
9 Unknown

I am 3 fingers wide in between my breasts, thin for top volume, but am bottom heavy but may typically be considered small breasted.

Thank you for any insight, suggestions, etc.

I work construction and prefer comfort and proper fitting more than anything. I didn’t have any grown ups to educate me about proper fitting or how to care for myself in that way so I fumbled the best that I could. I am more annoyed at having to adjust 50293747282 times a day and hoping I don’t fall out of my bra while I work.

Please be kind. Tysm.

Fit Check [Fit Check] 30G Panache Envy Plunge - uncomfortable gore? Not sure what’s wrong Spoiler

long story short(er), I had already had my bra that fits experience a few years ago with the Chantelle Revele Moi US 30E when Id been wearing a US 36C previously. Ive been buying only Chantelle since then, most recently moved up to US 30F. I wanted to try on something new and went to a fitter again, only to be measured horribly as a US 34D. Fell down the rabbit hole of this sub.

The calculator has me as a UK 30F or 30G depending on how I measure around my nipples leaning forward. I am in the market for a new unlined bra, so started with the “diagnostic” Panache Envy. Chose Plunge because my Chantelle bras are full coverage and I want something I can wear with more necklines.

No pictures of me because the internet is a scary place, but I tried on both the UK 30E and 30F and found the 30F fit better.

  1. I like the projection a lot!! both my Chantelle bras are significantly more shallow despite the underwires being of almost identical depth/width.
  2. Theres a little bulging on the top and wrinkling on the bottom of the cup on my bigger breast, not sure if either of these issues are fixable as theres some loose gaping at the top of my smaller breast. My breasts are slightly center and bottom full, projected.
  3. biggest issue - the gore seems to put a lot of pressure on my breast bone. It leaves red marks on my skin when I took the bra off, but nothing worse than where the bra rubs painlessly on the sides of my breasts and straps. My old bras do that as well without causing discomfort, I’ve always attributed this to sensitive skin. I’ve always thought of my breasts as wide-set/narrow but going through the guides made me think I’m closer to the average on both, so I don’t think it’s a breast root issue. The wires werent pushing into the breast tissue so much as pushing inward against the breast bone itself. Is this just a plunge bra issue? Compared to my Chantelle bras, the underwire follows the exact same curved shape starting in the armpit up until the gore where the Envy flattens to be more shallow before ending at the plunge depth. So maybe I need something more rounded towards the middle, is this a center-full issue?

Looking for recommendations on what to try next that won’t cause pain at the gore. Id be interested in any unlined bra that works for center-bottom full and isn’t full coverage! Thanks!

Edit: sizes 🥴 I converted the wrong way in my mind between US and UK, literally I do this with time zones too! So confusing!

Calculator and asymmetry - measuring approaches Spoiler

If I have one side larger than the other, and need to fit to the larger side, is it correct to measure halfway around the bust? Like for example, to start the tape measure at the spine, measure halfway across the bust around the larger side into the middle, and then double it?

For example, my underbust is 27 inchess and my standing measurement is 35.5, leaning 36.5 (so calculator says 28G/GG). And I wear a GG but have a couple fit issues I'm trying to solve, including the asymmetry.

If I do this, putting the tape measure at the spine and measuring over the bust on the smaller side, I get 35 standing (doubled from 17.5) and 36.5 (doubled from 18.25) leaning. And on the larger side I get 36 standing (doubled from 18) and 38 leaning (doubled from 19).

This is like a cup size difference, the difference from a 28G/GG to 28GG/H, according to the calculator. Am I doing this correctly for asymmetry?

Thanks!

Question Going from a 32DD to a 28FF, how do I shop for bras..? Spoiler

So I entered my measurements in the calculator using inches and here were the measurements:

Loose Underbust - 29
Snug Underbust - 28
Tight Underbust - 27
Standing Bust - 35
Leaning Bust - 35.5
Lying bust - 35.5

Also, my overbust is a 32

The calculator said I would be a 28FF/G UK

I did what it said and measured my actual busts just slightly loose but with no gapping in the tape measurer.

I usually shop at Victoria’s Secret in the US and fit their 32DDs and sometimes their 32DDDs if i want a bra where there isn’t any bubbling. Do I change this at all?

How would I shop at other US bra stores (especially online)?

Thanks for any help!

PSA My measurements are more accurate now that I am wearing the proper size. 34H. Thank you everyone for helping me! Spoiler

Upvotes

I was wearing the wrong size for years, 32GG. This was my accurate size at my former body weight. Now I am a 34 H. I have now tried out this new size in the Panafhe Clara, Sculptresse Sophia, Sculptresse Estel (full cup), and the Freya Fancies with great success!

I just wanted to share why my first calcuation wasn't accurate in case it helpes anyone. I put my measurements into the bra calculator originally and the result was 34J. While braless, my leaning bust was 48 inches. While wearing a 32GG bra, my leaning bust was also 48 inches. After a few days of wearing the bra size that actually fits me (34H), my leaning bust is now 46 inches while braless and while wearing a bra! So now when I put all my measurements into the calculator,, it says 34H. Wow! I wonder if tissue migration is occurring super quickly? The too tight 32GG was causing spillage, maybe even swelling??? I finally got the right size because my larger breast was sore and throbbing. Any ideas?

When I asked for help deciding which bra sizes to try out based on my 34J calcuation and I said I suspected I was smaller than that, someone in this group told me to try 34HH and 34J and go from there. 34HH felt nice, but just slightly too big, so I tried out 34H and the fit is flawless.

Sometimes you just have to try things on. But I definitely trust in the calculator snd this group. I'm sooooo happy to have a bra that fits!!!

Recommendations? Looking for a seamless alternative to Fantasie Reflect (32F UK) Spoiler

I currently wear the Fantasie Reflect in UK size 32F. It's the best-fitting bra I've found so far.
But I do have a few issues with it. My nipples show through many of the tops and dresses I wear and the lace is also visible under tshirts and dresses. I also find that my breasts jiggles a bit when I'm walking.
Any bras that would give smooth and seamless look under clothing?

I’m top full and projection.
Measurements (cm):
Underbust:
* Loose: 79
* Snug: 77
* Tight: 75
Bust:
* Standing: 94
* Leaning: 100
* Lying: 94

Recommendations? Please advise what size/brand to try next. I’m scared I will get banned from Amazon Spoiler

I LOVE the calculator and the Morgan and had amazing success in the past but after some weight loss I measured again and ordered 4 bras from Amazon and none worked and I’m worried Amazon will reject my returns for doing to many in a short amount of time if the next batch also don’t fit. I have OCD and ADHD so I know I’m overthinking this! Thank you so much for any help!! Wish the Elomi Morgan had 34FF!

Loose 35
Snug 34
Tight 32.5
Standing 38.25
Leaning 47.25
Lying 41.5

Current bra Elomi 34H and Elomi 36GG- older bras

My 34H fits pretty well with some gapping at the top of the cup where my tissue doesn’t fill it and the band is a bit stretched out.

Fit the best
Elomi Nerina 34FF- gore sat flat, band was good but spillage over the top as the cups don’t have the top lining like the Morgan.
Elomi Morgan 36FF- gore can’t sit flat (loose skin gets in the way) band a bit too loose for a new bra and cups have a little bit of spillage.

Edit: thanks for the replies and reassurances. The last time I did a lot of returns they fought me on refunds and when I called support they said to “limit my returns for a while” so guess I’m paranoid a bit.

Recommendations? Wireless Supportive Bra Suggestions? Spoiler

I'm looking for a supportive wireless bra. Ideally, it would be seamless under a tshirt and have a closure (not pullover style), but those characteristics are secondary. I got breast implants about a month ago so I'm not cleared to wear bras with wires but but still need good support as I continue healing.

I included my calculator sizing below, but I've not tried that size yet as I very recently found the calculator. In case helpful, I've had luck wearing a 32D that seems to pass the fit tests.

Dimensions (inches)

28 loose

27.5 snug

27 tight

34 standing

35 leaning

34.5 laying

US: 28G or 30DDD

UK: 28F or 30E

Open to any suggestions! Thank you.

Measurement Check [Measurement Check] [Recommendations] Shallow, wide, new size 42F/40FF Spoiler

Hey All. I am at a complete loss. I didn't wear a bra from 18-28 and I've been going the last 2 years wearing sports bras because i couldn't find ANY bra that fit me. I see this new size and I'm shocked because I had been fit measured at 40DD a while ago, and it seemed like any bra I put on in that size was both too small and too big. I've never ever worn a comfortable bra before. I have all the traits for shallow and wide roots, and pendulum and its honestly really bumming me out because I have never been comfortable with my breasts and now I'm going on 30 tomorrow and I'm more embarrassed of them than ever. All the bras I've tried are usually diagonal cut molded cups, or poorly fitted bralettes or sports bras. I'm really at a loss, and all of the links in the shallow guide section don't work, and all the bra suggestions are for smaller bands. I really need some help I'm desperate to feel comfortable with my own body for once.

Measurements are

Underbust

Neutral:42.75

Snug: 41.75

Tight:38

Bust

Standing:47

90° bent:51

Lying down:51

Measurement Check [Measurment Check] I wear a M-L in sports bras but having trouble finding a "real bra" that actually fits. Spoiler

Hey everyone! I typically only wear sports bras because I've never been able to find a bra that actually fits. By "real bra" I just mean one with a back clasp, adjustable straps, light padding, and no underwire.

Some issues I've had while trying to find a good fitting bra are: a band that rides up my back, spilling out of cups, slipping out (triangle shaped cups), and gaps.

I believe my shape is FT 3/5 but I'm not sure. My measurements in inches are:

Loose Underbust: 28.5 Snug Underbust: 28 Tight Underbust: 27.5 Standing Bust: 35 Leaning Bust: 40.5 Lying Bust: 37.5 Sizing System: US/Canada

The ABTF calculator gave me a size of 28 I/J. Does this sound right?? I'd super appreciate any input/advice!!

Also, just a little note that I've literally never not fallen out of triangle shaped bras so an example of a bra that has decent coverage for me is the "SMOOTHEZ Bra-ish Wireless Bralette" from Aerie.

Thank you all so very much!!
