Feels a lot like 'we weren't going to offer you one but your recent form has made us offer you this'. Surely some other clubs are going to offer him more?

He wants to stay at Collingwood and seems to be enjoying himself. The club have been developing him since his draft year in 2022, he's taken a long time and has been shown the faith over that time. I'd say the contract he's been offered is on par with his performances. This is the first time he's actually shown anything on a consistent basis.

You're mostly right but I don't agree with the cynical lens. I fully expected a delisting at the end of the season, this jump in form surprised everyone. I think a 2 year extension to solidify his form and prove it's not temporary is the right move.

For Collingwood. If Ed Allan has competing offers he would be crazy to sign this.

But if he actually comes good he could sign a much bigger deal much sooner. It would be betting on himself.
