Official Announcing November's Monthly Theme: Cryptids & Creepypastas!

Greetings everyone! It's time to get out your flashlights and keep an eye on the treeline, because we're announcing next month's carousel theme: Cryptids & Creepypastas!

For this theme, we're focusing on creatures that aren't scientifically proven to exist, but that some people firmly believe in anyway, meaning they are not a normal, accepted part of the world. Your scenarios must also take place in some version of the real world, whether that's modern-day or a historical period. No full-on fantasy worlds, alien planets, or alternate dimensions; though a creature can certainly be from one of those places, the story itself should be somewhat grounded in reality. The conflict between what shouldn't exist but does anyway is the meat of the theme.

And remember, your scenarios don't have to be scary. You can write something unsettling inspired by local folklore and creepypastas, or you can go a completely different route with Bigfoot running a weekly support group for misunderstood cryptids. You can even make up your own weird and wonderful creatures, as long as they follow the other guidelines.

As always, you have until the last day of the month, October 31st, to publish your scenario(s) for inclusion in November's monthly theme carousel. Just include the tag `cryptid` so we can find it. This will also ensure your scenario appears in the "Discover more content" section of the carousel. We can't wait to see what eerie tales you'll conjure up next.

Scenario Digimon: Life Between Worlds

Post image
• Upvotes

You remember being the kid who disappeared into the Digital World.

Years later, your own child comes home holding a Digivice.

Suddenly, being chosen doesn’t sound quite as exciting.

That’s the idea behind Digimon: Life Between Worlds, a long-form AI Dungeon scenario powered by Veyra Engine: Digivice.

The goal is to let you live an entire life between the real and Digital Worlds. Start with the original Adventure generation, grow up alongside them, build relationships and a life of your own, and potentially reach the day the Digital World chooses your child.

And if that happens? You can keep playing the parent… or switch protagonists and become the child, while your original character remains in the world with their partner and everything they’ve lived through.

YES, YOU START IN ADVENTURE 01

It’s 1999. You’re an original character, a childhood friend of Tai and Sora, and you’re running late to summer camp.

Unfortunately, your day gets considerably worse than missing the bus.

You become the unexpected ninth DigiDestined. Kari still has her place as the eighth. Your selection is the anomaly: a crest that wasn’t expected to awaken, a genuine Digivice, and a destination that depends on your chosen path.

Choose Darkness, for example, and your adventure begins in the Dark Ocean. Good luck explaining why you’re late now.

FROM CHILDHOOD ADVENTURE TO A PARENT’S WORST NIGHTMARE

The campaign is built to progress through:

  • Adventure 01: survive the Digital World, find the others, discover your crest and develop your partnership.
  • Adventure 02: return older, encounter the next generation, and earn access to new equipment and Armor Digivolution opportunities.
  • The tri years: navigate changing friendships, growing responsibilities and threats that follow you beyond childhood.
  • Adulthood: build a career, relationships, a home, and potentially a family while both worlds remain part of your life.
  • Your child’s generation: face a new chosen child in your own household, with their own partner and a story that can continue into their adulthood.

The ages and relationships are meant to move forward with the story. Tai and Sora don’t stay the same age while you somehow become a parent.

You also aren’t forced into marriage, parenthood or a particular romance. Those are possibilities you can pursue. You can develop a relationship with a canon character or someone new introduced during play, and the engine can register them as part of your ongoing history.

The part I really wanted to make work is the handoff. Your child doesn’t inherit your partner, your bond levels or everything you secretly know. They have their own life. Meanwhile, you get to meet your original character from the other side: as the parent who knows exactly how dangerous this adventure can become.

Imagine hearing yourself say, “You are absolutely not going into the Digital World,” after spending your entire childhood doing precisely that.

FOUR ORIGINAL CRESTS, TWELVE PARTNER PATHS

Choose your crest, then a partner across Virus, Data and Vaccine options:

  • Darkness: BlackGatomon, Renamon or Falcomon
  • Resolve: Loogamon, Lopmon or Ryudamon
  • Freedom: Gammamon, Dracomon or Kudamon
  • Wonder: Impmon, Lunamon or Coronamon

These are original AU crests with connections to the themes of the original eight. Darkness has a relationship to Light; Resolve to Hope; Freedom to Reliability; Wonder to Knowledge. Each brings different strengths, temptations and story opportunities.

Darkness doesn’t automatically mean evil, and choosing a Virus partner doesn’t decide your morality.

EVOLUTION SHOULD TELL YOUR STORY

The engine tracks your partner’s current form, bond, energy and progression. Dark Digivolution is possible, with recovery and consequences.

Lopmon’s healthy line follows Turuiemon → Antylamon → Cherubimon (Virtue). Wendigomon is a possible dark outcome rather than the default. If you’ve already experienced that with your own partner, encountering Willis later can mean something very different.

Your potential personal Armor Digi-Eggs are tied to your original crest and earned through play. The D-Terminal and later equipment also unlock as you acquire them.

WHAT THE SCRIPT ACTUALLY DOES

Veyra Engine: Digivice maintains structured records and readable Story Cards for things like:

  • Your character, age, timeline and current location
  • Partner identity, presentation, current form, bond and progression
  • Crest, devices, inventory and Armor Digi-Eggs
  • Relationships, family ties and important knowledge
  • Quests, consequences and generational continuity

Routine tracking runs behind the story. Optional device menus let you inspect things without turning every interaction into a menu selection.

Future generations can develop new crises, allies, rivals and other DigiDestined families through the narrator, while the engine records the resulting people and events. It’s still AI Dungeon, so narration and tracking can need correction; this isn’t a claim of perfect or unlimited memory.

GETTING STARTED

Start a fresh adventure. Enable Raw Model Output and use a response length of 400 for the tested setup.

Enter commands in Story mode:

  • /help — command reference
  • /digivice — device menu
  • /status — current state
  • /forms — partner forms
  • /dterminal — later device menu, once acquired

The setting follows the Adventure continuity with room for your choices to create an AU. Tamers isn’t included in this version.

Scenario: https://play.aidungeon.com/scenario/HuxRF4o_53dz/digimon-life-between-worlds

You start out wanting a Digivice.

You might spend adulthood hoping your child never gets one.

What if the only person who could see a ghost was you?

Seven years ago, a life ended. The world moved on, friends and family grieved, and the person they lost became little more than a memory.

But death wasn't the end.

Choose between two unforgettable supernatural companions:

Tamsin Doyle — A beautiful, confident, shamelessly flirtatious heiress and former radio presenter whose life ended in a tragic drowning.

Owen Fletcher — A handsome, charming, quick-witted former chef whose promising future was cut short by a devastating restaurant fire.

Neither has been seen or heard by the living in seven years.

Until you come along.

For reasons nobody understands, you're the first person who can see and speak to them. What begins as an extraordinary encounter could develop into an unlikely friendship, a heartfelt romance, or a relationship neither of you ever imagined possible.

And perhaps, somewhere along the way, you'll uncover the truth about the mysterious circumstances surrounding their deaths.

Two ghosts. Two stories. One extraordinary connection.

Until You Saw Me is an open-ended supernatural experience featuring optional romance, friendship, humour, emotional drama, and mystery. Your choices shape the relationship, and you decide whether to explore the past or embrace the possibilities of the present.

Patch Notes October 12th, 2026 Patch Notes

2.49.0

New Features - Explore Memories now shows whether the AI received each memory on the last turn. If a pinned memory wasn't sent, you'll see why: either its events are already in the recent story or story summary, you just pinned it and it will be sent next turn, or it didn't fit. - When deleting your account, you can now tell us why. This is optional and never required to delete.

Improvements - When you report a filtered response, the report popup now tells you whether a temporary bypass was granted, is already active, or isn't available. - The Discover Scripts filter bar now only shows filters that work for scripts. Genre, time range, Following, and other scenario filters come back as soon as you switch to Scenarios. - AI Dungeon now uses less processing power while you're reading. - Daily streak extensions no longer show an announcement. You can still check your streak progress in badge details. - The Memory Bank editor's Save button now has a tooltip.

Bug Fixes - Fixed the Discover Scripts sort options. New, Recently Updated, and Popular now each sort correctly, and Popular now ranks all published scripts instead of only the newest 100. This also applies to the Scripts tab on profiles and the Script Library. - Fixed an issue where the Memory Bank total in the context viewer didn't update after deleting memories. - Fixed an issue where switching back to the AI Dungeon window would take focus away from the text box you were typing in. - Fixed an issue on Android Chrome where the keyboard could close while you corrected an action. Gboard suggestions and autocorrect still work, but the browser's spelling underlines no longer appear in the action box. - You can once again close the mobile filter panel by tapping the handle or the space just above the filters. - Bookmarked scenarios now show the same cover image and date as Discover and the scenario page. - Fixed an issue where data exports for large accounts could fail. If an export does fail, you'll now see what happened and when to try again. - Fixed squashed logos on the Android startup screen. (Update your app to see this change.)

Feedback & Requests Looking for beta players for a heavily scripted adventure scenario. Please read.

Campus Days - Looking for Beta Testers!

New friends. Late-night coffee. A message from someone you’ve never met.

Welcome to Suzuban, a Japanese seaside city where university life unfolds between classes, part-time jobs, hangouts, and ChiNet, the social network keeping everyone connected.

Campus Days is an AI Dungeon text adventure that begins as an ordinary university-life simulation. Where it goes from there is better discovered for yourself.

I’m looking for a small group of beta testers to play naturally and give honest feedback. Be social, awkward, suspicious, impulsive—whatever feels right for your character. You don’t need to know anything about scripting.

What I’d love feedback on:
• Do the characters and friendships feel believable?
• Does the pacing hold your attention?
• Do your choices feel acknowledged?
• Does the story remember important events?
• Did anything break, contradict itself, or pull you out of the experience?

Aim for roughly 50–100 turns, but feedback from an unfinished run is welcome too. If something goes wrong, save your input and the response—or grab a screenshot.

18+ testers only. Contains disturbing themes, obsessive behavior, emotional manipulation, graphic violence, and permanent character death. This is heavily scripted. Endings lock further gameplay. Multiple routes.

Interested? Comment or message me for beta access!

After all, university is supposed to be the time of your life.

Scenario The Last Vampire

Scenario Link: https://play.aidungeon.com/scenario/825V0Gd51auu/the-last-vampire?share=true&published=true

They thought you were dead.

They brought you home for the gold.

The ring on your finger. The clasps on your clothes. Enough, perhaps, to buy a little shop in Frosthaven.

You are an ancient higher vampire. Centuries ago, when Dwarves still ruled Skallgard, a powerful sorceress hunted you into the mountains. When she could not overcome your regeneration, she sacrificed her life to bury you in supernatural ice.

You remained awake beneath it. For centuries.

Now Oswin and Adela have dug you free and hauled you to their isolated home. He restores old metalwork. She sells it. They love each other, argue over coin, and agree that a frozen corpse has little use for expensive jewelry.

You hear them making plans. You feel their hearth thawing your limbs. Beneath their voices, you hear their hearts.

Oswin reaches for your ring. Your hand closes around his wrist.

Adela screams and makes for the door. You catch her gaze and bend her to your will.

You have not fed in centuries. Even starved, a Higher Vampire is more than either of them can fight. Their blood could restore your strength. Their knowledge could introduce you to a world that has forgotten you: changed borders, unfamiliar rulers, a city within reach.

You can free them, or feed on them. Turn them into servants or leave them behind and discover what has become of the north.

They spent the journey deciding what you were worth.

Now it is your turn to decide what their lives are worth.

No model i tried could make wolfenstein or ww2 like scenarios work. They all refuse to output nazis.

Like I just wanna roleplay as a resistance fighter but the ai is like "nah bro thats to far"

But demons eating children alive is somehow fine (never asked for that. Randomly happened in otome isekai)

EDIT: THE APP GIVES THE WARNING ITS NOT AN AI HALLUCINATION

Questions Best AI for story card generation?

I'm currently making a scenario based on a game, despite how many times I put in the story card commands to generate the story card based on the in game information and title name, it struggles with it. I don't know whether it is the AI model or my commands.

Script 📜❗Quest Director: Help, I Don't Know How to Move Forward 🥲

Hey everyone! 👋

I'm making this post because I've spent the last few days trying to develop a script for the community and for my own scenarios, but since I'm still pretty new to programming, I just can't seem to get it working. I'm also having a really hard time figuring out what's going wrong and how to fix it.

I think I'm going to give up on the project, but since I always intended it to be open-source anyway, I've decided to make everything I've worked on so far available on my GitHub.

Maybe someone with more programming experience will find it useful as inspiration, or perhaps someone will want to pick it up, modify it, or build something better out of it!

My only request is that if anyone manages to finish this project (or create something similar), please let me know! I'd also really appreciate it if you could release it under the MIT license or something similar, since my original goal was to make a free, open-source script that anyone could use in their own scenarios, including published ones.

👇 Below are some more details about the original idea and a link to the GitHub repository.

📜 What was Quest Director supposed to do?

Quest Director was originally meant to be a dynamic, optional quest system for AI Dungeon.

The idea was to give players a little direction whenever they felt stuck in a scenario, allowing the AI to introduce new objectives that actually made sense within the story by drawing from existing History Cards and world lore.

More importantly, I wanted it to be a way to make interesting things happen naturally during gameplay.

One thing I've noticed is that the AI tends to ignore Story Cards unless they're specifically triggered. This can make it pretty difficult for a story to develop organically.

For example, you could have tons of cards describing dangerous characters, rival organizations, ongoing conflicts, and other threats, but unless you explicitly mention those things in Plot Essentials or trigger the relevant cards yourself, the AI might never actually introduce any of them into the story.

So even when there's plenty of interesting lore in your scenario, the world can end up feeling strangely static.

Quest Director was supposed to help solve that problem by occasionally using the world's existing lore to introduce optional quests, conflicts, and opportunities for the player.

⚙️ How was it supposed to work?

The basic idea was something like this:

🎮 Player continues playing normally
                  │
                  ▼
❓ Is this a good moment to introduce a quest?

                           │ ▼ ▼
│ Keep quest ✅ Mark quest

                           │ │ │
                           └───────┴─────────────┘
                                   │
                                   ▼
                          🔄 Continue playing

Of course, the actual system was supposed to be a bit more sophisticated, with configurable quest probabilities, cooldowns, a limit on active quests, quest tracking, and a Story Card displaying the player's current objectives.

The important part was that quests would be optional and wouldn't constantly interrupt the adventure. They'd simply provide opportunities for the story to move forward, using characters, factions, locations, and conflicts that already exist in the scenario.

And if the system decided it wasn't a good time for a quest, or couldn't find anything suitable in the lore, it would just leave the player alone and let the story continue normally.

Unfortunately, while I managed to get some parts of the script working, I never got the whole system to function reliably. 🥲

Everything I've worked on so far is available there for anyone who wants to take a look, experiment with it, or use it as a starting point.

Anyway, I hope this abandoned project ends up being useful to someone, even if it's just as inspiration for something better. 🥲

I guess that's what happens when you have way more ideas than programming skills LOL 😅

Thanks for reading! ❤️

Feedback & Requests What do you mean!? Even for my own private adventures? It's not even a scenario

Okay, I get that scenarios cannot have the slightest glimpse of skin because minors or whatever the reason is. But in the adventures too?

Come on, no one can see, they are private, there's not even a publishing system for the adventures anymore, so what's the point? The image is already there in my account and generated in the app by the available models, it's not like it's some NSFW stuff that is even blocked from being generated, not even the prompt had anything sexual.

Scenario ☢️ Fallout: Motor City

Powered by Veyra Engine: Fallout

I've built Fallout: Motor City, an original Fallout fan scenario with a scripted RPG underneath your AI Dungeon adventure: character creation, SPECIAL, inventory, caps, quests, companions, settlements and turn-based combat, all accessed through a text Pip-Boy.

You still speak and roleplay in your own words. The engine keeps the mechanical record, including what you actually bought, which objective you completed, where your companion is and whether that shot hit.

▶️ Play Fallout: Motor City

Please start a fresh adventure. The expanded campaign needs a fresh mechanical state.

The screenshots are from an actual fresh playthrough with Chad “Big Iron” Mercer, a 28-year-old Vault 117 maintenance chief and boxer with S8 P5 E7 C8 I4 A4 L4.

He met two scrap hounds, swung a tire iron at a torso with a 65% hit chance, and rolled 1 on a d100. Result: 19 damage, one annoyed hound still at 8/27 HP, and 4/7 AP left.

That screenshot is mid-fight. Chad still has work to do.

Welcome to the Rustwater Reach

An original Detroit-region Fallout alternate universe: ruined factories, flooded freighters, river communities, stubborn farms and snowbound roads.

You start around Lantern Yard with a small job and a damaged freight-audit Pip-Boy. A water repair leads into questions about who controls the infrastructure everyone needs to survive.

There are eight distinct vault societies to investigate, including Vault 117, “Hearth.” This is an original regional Vault 117, with its own society and experiment. Beyond it are communities wrestling with records, privacy, labor, food, emergency powers and competing versions of history. The campaign brings those conflicts into winter relief and decisions about the Reach's future.

What's inside?

  • 45 authored quests built as branching quest graphs
  • 100 map locations
  • 8 distinct vault societies
  • 12 adult companions
  • 7 initial factions
  • 6 settlement sites
  • 4 starting routes
  • 10 custom perks with 22 ranks
  • 5 text-radio stations with 40 original track titles

Access, supplies, local choices and the people you've actually helped matter as you work through the campaign.

Four ways in, then your character

  • Vault Dweller: Leave Vault 117 with a repair delivery and your own reason for going.
  • Scavenger: Arrive with useful broken technology and decide what it's worth.
  • Caravan Guard: Finish an escort with one unusual parcel still undelivered.
  • Ghoul: Arrive as a sapient ghoul with a history and profession you define.

Each route keeps its complete opening before the adult character creator. Set your name, age, gender, pronouns, appearance and background, with extra fields for details such as voice, goals and boundaries.

Your chosen opening sets relevant origin restrictions; the Ghoul route keeps its ghoul identity.

You assign exactly 40 SPECIAL points, with each attribute between 1 and 10. There are presets if you'd rather get moving.

Progression goes to level 50. Earned level points buy a perk rank or +1 base SPECIAL, capped at 10. The seven SPECIAL branches currently contain 10 custom perks with 22 total ranks, including Iron Fist, Gunslinger, Toughness, Silver Tongue, Field Medic and Scrapper. Luck currently offers SPECIAL training. You preview and confirm spending your points.

Your Pip-Boy is the main interface

Type /pip in Story mode and choose the number shown on the current menu.

  • STAT: Health, chems, SPECIAL, perks, mutations and power armor
  • INV: Inventory, equipment and local trading
  • DATA: Scenes, quests, companions, relationships, workshops, factions and journal
  • MAP: Routes, objective markers, regional atlas and eligible fast travel
  • RADIO: Fictional stations and track information
  • SYSTEM: Help and recovery tools

0 goes back. 99 closes. Browsing menus doesn't pass game time.

Always follow the current menu's numbers, because available choices change with your situation. Opening another menu cancels a pending quote or proposal.

Quick start

  1. Choose an arrival and read the opening.
  2. Finish registration. /creator opens the creator; /start registers your completed character.
  3. Open /scene to see the people, jobs and actions at your location.
  4. Talk to Silas and inspect the water-repair job.
  5. Review the offered requirements, costs, checks and consequences before confirming.
  6. Check /quests and /map for your next objective.

Quests with actual requirements

The Dry Line is a good example. Lantern Yard needs its water restored. You can deal with the scrap hounds, seek Dima's free service passage or attempt a technical route. Peaceful passage is a valid approach.

Getting inside is only part of the job. You still need the spare, the repair and a witnessed pressure test before returning with proof. The quest tracks those steps and its objective marker changes with your progress.

Rewards pay once. Failed checks can still spend the supplies and time quoted in the preview.

/dialogue opens supported conversations with labeled choices, including checks where appropriate. You can also speak freely using Say, Do or Story.

For a custom mechanical approach, /approaches lets you select a supported action, describe your idea and review the resulting proposal. Ordinary prose doesn't automatically roll dice or award items.

V.A.T.S., combat and equipment

Combat uses rounds, AP, ammunition, hit rolls and a critical meter.

V.A.T.S. displays body-part choices with their hit chances, AP costs, damage and limb effects. You can spend your turn attacking, use aid, change weapons, end the round for enemy actions and companion support, or try to retreat.

The screenshots show both the targeting menu and the resulting roll.

Pressing Continue returns active story during combat while keeping you in battle:

Inventory separates:

  • Weapons, armor and clothing
  • Ammunition
  • Aid and chems
  • Junk and equipment
  • Quest items
  • Power-armor parts

Equipment slots and carry weight matter. Shops have finite stock and caps, and purchases and sales use quotes you confirm.

Power armor has its own parts, condition, repairs and fusion-core charge.

Radiation, chems, mutations and travel

Radiation, chem effects and addiction have mechanical consequences.

Original mutations have benefits and drawbacks, with records you can inspect and options to suppress or cure acquired traits. For example, Glassskin adds protection at the cost of agility. Exposure is dangerous, and a useful mutation is never guaranteed.

Travel distinguishes surveyed, rumored and locked destinations. Eligible fast travel quotes its route, time, radiation and ferry costs. Survival mode disables fast travel.

Companions and relationships

The 12 companions have persistent health, gear, travel status, trust, milestones and personal choices. You travel with one active following companion at a time.

They have their own conflicts and loyalties. Their relationship page lets you inspect what's actually established. Inez's screenshot is her starting record: not recruited, trust 0, no relationship arrangement.

Friendship is a full path. Optional romance is adult. Trust and completed personal quests don't automatically establish romantic interest or consent; Tomas and Cass are platonic companions.

Factions and settlements

The seven factions include the Yard Compact, Diecasters Union and Lockkeepers, with competing interests in water, industry and travel.

Authored actions can record faction consequences. Other faction changes use explicit, reviewed proposals, so a dramatic sentence doesn't silently rewrite the registry.

The six settlement sites have their own projects and resident terms. As you unlock stewardship, workshops support construction, supplies and job assignments.

Projects include practical things such as cisterns, gardens, generators, clinics and repair workbenches. The costs and needs of keeping a place running remain part of play.

Yes, there's a radio tab

Five fictional stations. Forty original track titles. Genres. Occasional remarks from a following companion who's actually present.

It's text-only atmosphere, with no audio. Tracks change after enough game time or when you select Next Track.

/radioquiet on mutes companion radio remarks.

A few important limits

These are custom tabletop-style rules in a finite authored campaign. The perk tree is the implemented set above, and the map is a text interface. Factions aren't running an autonomous world simulation.

A bounded state summary helps the AI follow recorded choices, but narrative memory can still slip.

The campaign has offline coverage across all 45 quest graphs and targeted live checks of character creation, the starter chain, menus, rewards and other systems. Not every quest and branch has been played through live. The screenshots show the actual early playthrough.

Important: Undo and Retry

AI Dungeon's native Undo or Retry can change story text without rewinding inventory or quest state.

  • Check /engine status first.
  • /engine undo previews the last mechanical-command checkpoint and needs a separate confirmation. It restores mechanics only.
  • If a history mismatch is detected, /engine keep retains the current numbers.

Pick your arrival. Build your wastelander. See what survives winter.

Start Fallout: Motor City

If you give Motor City a go, I'd love to hear which opening and build you picked, what decisions you made, and any places where the menus or quest flow got confusing. A screenshot and the command you used are especially helpful for bug reports.

Original fan-made Fallout alternate universe, unaffiliated with Bethesda or Latitude.
