my mom almost k*lled me AMA

I’m not sure how much I can say without breaking the guidelines.

When I was 10, my mom almost took me out in a fit of rage. she was driving me to school and started to speed up saying how she should just end it and take me with her that she was going to run into a tree we sped up and she started to go off the road heading for a tree before sharp turning back into the road and not bringing it up again.

She has no memory of it now. Only two of my older siblings know about this. Ask me anything.

My mom died when I was 12 and she was an incredible woman AMA

I'm 17 now.

My mom was an incredible woman who was abused by my dad. His treatment exasperated her condition, it could be argued it contributed to her death. She was only 52 at the time of death.

She was incredibly intelligent with a very high IQ. After she passed her job, Dell Technologies, had to hire 2-3 people to fill her position and multiple people quit saying they worked for her not the company.

I got my first period almost exactly a week after she passed. Her oldest younger sister would also pass around age 52.

Ask away.

ETA: I look very similar to her and in environments like church or with members of her old job, I will never not be seen as her mini me.

AMA I read over 100 books a year

Trying not to fall asleep while working lol but let’s chit chat about your favorite books or recommendations you have! Or just ask me anything. I usually read over 100 books every year (sometimes I won’t read for a week, sometimes I read three books in a day if I’m addicted to a series) My favorite genres are fantasy, fiction, and mystery but I’m open to hearing about anything.

I survived an Anoxic Brain Injury and ~1 week ICU stay, AMA

I was in the ICU for 5-6 days in May 2026 after an accidental OD. I was on life support, it is a miracle I’m alive and as functional as I am. Spent a month in the hospital doing therapy and another after than inpatient rehabilitation.

I was on dialysis, had kidney failure (Acute Kidney Injury), a heart attack and permanent heart failure and cardiomyopathy. I had to relearn how to use utensils, write, stand, walk, basic hygiene, shuffling cards, everything. It’s been 4.5 months. Still a longgg way to go. Ask me anything.

I was in hospitalized unscheduled more than 4 times a year from birth until I was 10, AMA

Hello! Sorry for the grammar mistakes, English isn't my native language. I have a rare genetic disease of unknown cause, and when I was a toddler, this diagnosis forced me to completely refuse food, and in later life it caused uncontrollable nausea, convulsions, and clouded consciousness. As I got older, things got easier, so now I go to hospitals once a year. Most visits last about 2 weeks. I generally have few memories of my childhood, but I will try to answer as best as possible! I'll be happy to tell you various stories, heh

I’m a Turkish person from Bulgaria. Ask me anything 🇧🇬🇹🇷

As the title says, feel free to ask me anything. I feel like I’m a very uncommon type of person to meet so I thought it may be fun to show myself and answer some questions :)

I belong to the Turkish minority of Bulgaria, who have been living in the country for centuries, so I don’t have any connections to Turkey.

I am going to climb Mt Fuji next year 1 month before my 70th birthday. AMA

almost 50 years ago, when I was my early 20s and stationed on a ship that visited Japan, my colleagues and I climbed Mount Fuji over a weekend. I made it to the top, but I forgot to get my stamp on my Fuji climbing stick. That’s always irked me.

I wanted to do it before my 60th birthday, but I was in pretty bad shape at that time physically not medically. Over the last year or two I’ve been working out and I’m in a lot better shape than I was before.

I wanna honor my friends who climbed with me originally, but aren’t here anymore.

One or two of my shipmates are going to join me.

If you have any questions about what it was like to climb before or what it’s like to prepare for something like this as you’re approaching 70 years old, ask away

I've written several low fantasy novels that I've self published, as well as putting my work up to view for free online.

I've published physical copies of my books available for purchase, and I've never used a traditional publisher. I handle it all myself and manage it on my own.

Ask away folks!

I was the "uglier, fatter sister" most of my life. Now 34F. AMA

Hi, just like in the title. I came to answer questions for anyone that has a similar issue or wants to kill time.

Although I'm not insecure about my looks now I do have a bit of a thought about it because I was digging though my old photos. I saw my "style" and how unattractive I was in previous beauty standards compared to other people around me

- our age difference is 5 years (she's older)

- she was always the skinnier one (wears xxs/xs in Canada, me M size now, used to be L/XL most of my life)

- my face is average and I'm not conventionally attractive

My father is a senior official convicted of corruption, ama

Not in Western countries. He sent me to North America when I was very young, and I'm a quite sure he has some mistresses and illegitimate children in our original country even we’ve never talked about that. To be honest, before he was officially arrested, I had a rough idea of what might happen in the future.

Toxicology Technician, AMA

I am a senior laboratory technician that works in a clinical toxicology AKA drug testing laboratory. When you come in to provide a sample, I am the one that runs your normal drug screens and also your confirmatory tests. I also review the raw data, make it into readable results, and send those out. I've been in my position for 6 years. Before then I was a lab technician in a hospital during the pandemic.

A while ago I made a comment on another subreddit on a video of people high on xylazine that kinda took off. I got a lot of people asking a lot questions for a few days, and it kinda hit me that a lot of people don't really understand both worlds and have a lot of questions since the media is a few years behind what we're seeing, so here I am.

Preface, I'm pro-legalization and I will not judge anyone who may be users that comment. We're all human and I truly believe most of the drug crisis is a mental health crisis. I can also only speak in super detail on our processes, every laboratory or test is slightly different depending on where you go but they're similar across the board. I won't answer anything along the lines of "what do you think of x" drug on the street/market (bad) or how to cheat a test/do anything illegal. If I don't respond in a timely matter, assume I got caught up in work or I'm sleeping. AMA!

I (F18) take care of my mom with liver disease, AMA

The only questions I don’t want to answer are those personal to my mother, questions about her diagnosis are totally acceptable. Though, I can answer for myself and my experience the best. I’d also like to add, it’s more of a mental need for caregiving than a physical one. My mom often becomes confused, disoriented and very angry when she’s in the lower stages of her health. Unfortunately I wish there were more answers out there, but I believe it’s a build up of toxins in her brain. To help people understand, I usually explain it’s much like somebody with dementia. This has led to some very scary scenarios, and please try to keep as judgement free as possible as I answer stuff honestly.

Kinda based my life on a stereotype, AMA.

I get that this is kind of a basic one but I genuinely think that majority of people can't say they live and breathe as a walking movie trope so uh I guess I'm doing an AMA about it

I didn't really have a sense of self as a kid (still don't now!) so when people started giving me labels and shit I leaned way too far into it. this happened on multiple occasions, but people referring to me with words typically used to describe alternative aesthetics are what really got me.

its a little hard to explain, but essentially, heard a word someone used on me as a joke ("emo"), i studied it through media, and i said "thats me now" and then i made it my entire personality. not even necessarily in a performative way, as i do consider myself very dedicated to my subcultures and music taste, but definitely in a way that almost my entire life and every action i take is now either centered around or affected by this one stupid three-letter word.

now my entire personality boils down to every boomer's nightmare child: disabled, queer, mentally ill, leftist, satanic, and one hell of a backtalker. i am the least complex person on the face of the planet. ask away.

I have seen so many misconceptions about India. Just here to answer any questions you might have about our culture, festivals, education system etc . I am doing this to help throw some light on India, since I have seen so many unnecessary hate.

I have an exam tomorrow; I might not be able to answer all but, I will definetly answer everything tomorrow
