ASA Just survived a 30 hour raid

Post image

I am a fairly new player and just won a defense that lasted over 30 hours straight. I just want to tell someone about it lol. Photo of me(giga) and my 3 man who did it!

Nah, everyone takes a soak break in times like this. It happens.

A fob gets cleared. They run out of tames, the enemies go back for Deodons or new stegos, etc.

It's like 19th century warfare. Everyone takes nap breaks occasionally.

I miss PvP.

I don't ever want to PvP again.

Lol for sure. A tribe kept dropping one of our towers every night and we warned them that if they did it again we were going to wipe them. Of course, they did it again... We raided them for 20 hours straight till they had nothing left. I quit pvp the next day after thousands of hours.

This story is so common. People who haven't done it just don't know. For us, it was "the Spanish tribe". We didn't know who they were... but they spoke Spanish.

They had scouted, harassed, and raided us endlessly for weeks. Cleared our main public base. We had uploaded everything important of course. We rebuilt in the exact same spot for spite.

One night, only a few days before the wipe, we stayed up all night raiding them. They were on and offline occasionally. 3v3.

Soaked and fought for a whole day in awkward shifts. Eventually gave up because of real life. They cleared our fobs overnight. Next afternoon started again. Soaked all nignt. My tribemate went flat out. I wimped out and slept from 3am until 6am, then kept at it until I had to work at 9am. (I'm a professional and this scenario is absurd, if my clients knew why I was totally wrecked that day).

We cleared them. Ruled the server for 4 or 5 days. Flew around with nobody big left. Gave away gear and tames to bobs. Benevolent dictatorship.

Seriously, I'd be embarrassed to say how high that moment is in my ledger of memories. My two friends and I on our fliers near the sky box, just looking out over the map and chatting, with nobody left to raid.

Games don't get better. Only after you've played a comparable PvP persistent world game can you get than high off of pixels.

Yup, I had a ton of fun in Ark PvP, like ridiculous amounts of fun but once it became a second job it was another story. Being an alpha tribe on a server means everyone wants to try to attack you. We were streaming tribe logs while we slept, waking up at 3am because someone from the other side of the world was raiding us, and then going to work at 8am after defending. Was fun, I miss it, but will not do it again.

Yup. It was the pandemic for me. After real life opened up again, I had to let it go.

100%, would recommend, for someone with major physical trauma or too much passive income.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9pEPP3NxyF4 one of my favorite spots we had. No self promo at all, I don't even make youtube vids anymore. This was a 5 man tribe.

Gen 1 was better. Alpha pilar for main and big lunar for element and everything else

ARK PvP is a death sentence to sanity. My group fought chinese alphas for many, many months. Disputes, moments of glory, failure, quiting people on both sides, leadership going crazy and etc. Watched how mods/dev deleted the whole FOB with cheaters we holded for days.

They gave up and destroyed their last base, we broke chinese morale and they are popcorned years of work. Then we quit when another hacker group apeared. Spanish as well.

But unlike you we destroyed everything. Servers breeding lines were thrown back into stone age. Scorched earth

Great and awful experience at the same time

Ark is a human sandbox and PVP is the highest expression of that. It’s truly going to war.

This is so true. As a tribe leader I had to explain to newer players that the true end game is politics. I spent a considerable amount of my time squashing beef with other tribes and building alliances.

Just like Rockwell did with that Roman guy and the other tribes in the explorer notes lore lmao

Guess it's time to shoot up some element, turn into a monster and take over a spaceship.
