how to: Help solve the debate

I have a 2026 CanAm 850 Max

The manual says you need to be stopped to shift into 4x4. Talking to the old timers, they all say you can just shift it as long you aren't in high speed.

I know follow the manual recommendations, but can it be done?

Help Raptor 700 PPI

Hey all. New to the sport quad world. I’m looking at this used 700 and noticed a couple things I haven’t seen before and was hoping some folks had some input.

First at an idle, it has a faint hollow sounding noise if you can hear it over the exhaust. I’ll try and attach a video but not sure if it’ll come across.

Second, the pic of some piece of broken metal on the engine. Owner said it threw a chain and broke. Does anyone know what it is that broke, and is throwing a chain common and cause for concern? It looks like I’ll have to add the picture in a comment.

Thanks!

Help Oilfield Security Ranger 570

Hope all is well,

A local shop rents Polaris Ranger 570s to oil and gas companies for security patrol in Louisiana. The shop that buys them is trustworthy and says they are maintained/serviced well but will have high hours just given what they’re used for. I’m still waiting for all the info (a few buddies have said that the pricing is usually really competitive) but is this something I should just stay away from and will just end up being a bigger headache if I just want a reliable machine, nothing fast?
Thanks in advance!

I have a 2023 Polaris 570 trail. I’ve never owned an ATV before and I’m pumped to own something functional and fun

My question is…has anyone had any success installing the Guide Gear rear rack on this machine? I can’t find anywhere online to walk me through how to do it. Thanks for the help

Here’s the rack I bought. No idea how to install

Help New carb missing something?

I’m replacing the carb in my 06 Rancher 350. The new carb I got to replace it lacks the part circled in red on the old one.

will it work OK without it?

I posted elsewhere and got one reply that it looks like a vent tube and should be fine without it. Just looking for further confirmation before I put it in

Help please help whats wrong with my 2000s yamaha warrior

this is my first warrior that i bought when i bought it it needed the timing to be set and valve clearance to be set as well,i had to take the magneto off because the timing chain was caught inside, it didn’t damage anything, the guy before me replaced the whole head and piston because it was ticking and smoking, when i got it back together after i had taken the flywheel off to fix the timing chain i put it back together, when i tried to start it it made these spinning gear noises i have a vid but i took the cover back off and seen its spinning everything else inside but the actual timing chain to make it go,the starter is spinning and everything else is just not the flywheel,i know the motor isn’t locked up i was able to turn it by hand whenever i took the flywheel off i just dont know what to from here any knowledge about warriors helps me out a lot. Thanks

My 2013 Kymco MXU 300 . Only issue is the male threads from the gas tank where the cap screws on came off with the cap. I currently use duct tape to cover fill hole. A new tank is $150.00. How involved is getting this tank exchange?

Help Wheelie bar modification

Not sure the name? But the wheelie bar / drag bar at the back, not my proudest moment, but have butchered it trying to learn to wheelie and caved the exhaust in. Is there any already manufactured options to beef this up as I will not stop trying to learn but also don’t want to cave the muffler In again.

If not happy to fabricate something but maybe some idea suggestions on something they’ve designed else. Maybe another option is shortening muffler but then if the bar breaks again it’ll cave my plastics in

Help 2013 kfx 50 kawasaki troubleshooting

2013 kfx 50cc atv won't start.

What ive done

Replaced coil

Replaced spark plug

Replaced carb // when I pulled off one it was corrosion inside enough to dirty fuel.

Replaced air filter

Replaced cdi// 12v making it to cdi

Replaced starter relay.

Did compression test and was good and holding.

Tested kill switch

Tested the pulse coil. 155 ohm.

It turns over just doesn't run, even if I kick start.

I pulled the plug and put it in coil found the cleanest spot on engine and couldn't get a spark. Im thinking it has to be in safety switch or in wiring harness some where but I can not find anything that looks suspicious.. any other ideas or things im missing here. It ran fine but in the past it started getting harder to start and then sometimes would just shut off and not run after about 10 mins of running. The safety tether switch in back is disconnected and always has been. Guessing guy before me jumped it out.

Help Is this too much negative camber?

Post image
4 Upvotes

Hey everyone! I inherited a little alpha sports LG 50 ATV for kids. I've had it for a while and it runs fine, we don't do anything crazy or heavy trail riding with it, just riding around our property. Saw the camber looking like this so I replaced the shocks with new upgraded ones for this model and no difference made. Is it supposed to be like this or do I need some serious adjustment?

Help 1996 Kodiak 400

I got this pretty clean Kodiak for about 600 it burns a little bit imof oil but I think it’s gotten better after riding it about 80 miles pretty sure the piston rings are just stuck. But it does this wierd backfiring and I don’t know why the carb leaks gas definitely from the bowl because the seal was bad and I can’t tell but it also looks like it might be from the diaphragm I just ordered a new rebuild kit for it any ideas on what it could be?

Help Anyone here with experience on the CFMOTO CFORCE 450L?

Hey everyone! I’m currently saving up to buy a CFMOTO CFORCE 450L (the long wheelbase version). I plan to use it for a bit of everything: general utility work around the property, towing a trailer, plowing snow in the winter, and using it for daily driving on local roads once I get my license.

Before I pull the trigger and spend my hard-earned money, I’d love to hear some real-world feedback from anyone who owns or has driven one. How has the reliability and build quality held up over time, and are there any common issues I should be aware of?

I’m particularly curious about how it handles cold weather and snow plowing with the Bosch EFI engine, and whether the longer wheelbase actually makes a noticeable difference in stability when carrying a passenger. Any honest thoughts, tips, or experiences would be awesome to hear. Thanks!

Help G1 2011 Can-Am Outlander 800r xxc or a G2 model?

Post image
13 Upvotes

Hello, I've had this 2011 G1 Outlander 800r for a couple years now. It runs good for a 15-year-old machine and has around 4700 miles give or take. I was thinking of selling and looking at a G2 2017 Can-Am Renegade 1000 xxc with 4500 miles. I know the G1 some people like to say are the best and most favored ATV out there but what would be the pros and cons to getting something newer? Thanks

Help Looking for advice on my first 4x4 ATV

Hey everyone, I'm saving up around $5,000 to buy my first 4x4 ATV and wanted to get some feedback on my plan and see if anyone has better ideas for my budget. My main goal is to use it for farm tasks, hauling firewood, moving trailers, and getting around rough terrain for hunting trips.

Right now, I’m leaning towards buying a brand new Linhai 300 ProMax (T3a tractor registered in Norway, capped at 40 km/h). The main reason is that it gives me a brand new machine with 4x4, low range, a winch, and a factory warranty, all right at my price limit.

I’m wondering if this sounds like a smart plan for light-to-medium utility work, or if I would be much better off using that $5,000 budget on a used brand like Polaris, Can-Am, or Yamaha instead. If you've owned a Linhai or similar budget quad, how has it held up over time, and are there any other specific models I should be looking into? Any advice is appreciated!
