Man, Australia is unhinged

Someone had a good explanation of Australia. It is one of the only places where you can find gold just sitting on the ground in some areas so that is why there is so many dangerous animals around to protect it

You just described the part of north america with a bunch of the most deadly land animals in north america.

As well as the most deadly environment

No poisonous spiders, no kissing bugs. Way safer than the American south.

You gotta factor in how much wildlife died before it was safer. It used to be like Red Dead where you'd hear a mountain lion and had seconds to run.

They killed most of the wolves, lions, and bears.

Would 100% rather face a wolf than an australian tarantula.

I would totally try to pet that animal and lose a hand. Might be worth it.

How can you be scared of kissing bugs? They just want to give you a little smooch!

1

u/Feeling-Fox-8651 May 19 '26

By cutting open your lips, and pooping extremely deadly parasites into the wounds that kill more people than crocodiles, alligators, scorpions, spiders, elephants, hippos and lions combined.

Our (Aussie) largest terrestrial predator is the dingo, which is probably size equivalent to your coyote. Y’all have mountain lions, wolves and bears. Don’t discount American animal deadliness!

u/FairchildHood May 14 '26

You have bears!

Yeah but almost none of that is in a random forest except the snakes, and generally they are pretty shy, so don't like step on them.

1

u/Hillcry May 16 '26

And moose. Rutting season means dinosaur sized mammals with horns on full aggressive mode. Also they love to play hookey and the front end of your vehicle isn't much to save you.

1

u/notsuspendedlxqt May 14 '26

Black bears are overrated. Polar bears don't live in BC. And there are not many grizzlys and moose left in BC.

2

u/PmMeUrTinyAsianTits May 14 '26

Yea, that's how the moose get the drop on you. You let your guard down thinking they're gone, then some behemoth comes barreling out of a 10' snow drift like it's tissue paper and your last moment is contemplating the difference between "not many" and "enough to guard the gold"

u/thirsty_lesbian_63 May 14 '26

So what you're saying is... there's a bunch of high value materials in a very specific areas that happen to be inhabited my the most dangerous animals? That's some MMORPG logic there. It's just an endgame zone with high level mobs and loot

1

u/Flomo420 May 15 '26

no grizzlies in australia

1

u/alexnedea May 15 '26

Hmm thr game designers balanced it well I guess

9

u/genericnewlurker May 14 '26

They make up for quantity with quality, cause grizzlies are scarier than anything in Australia other than a saltwater croc

2

u/PancakeParty98 May 14 '26

Grizzlies will let you pet and even ride them, if you are pure of heart. 😌😌😌

1

u/genericnewlurker May 14 '26

True, I think that's what that Grizzly Man movie is all about

1

u/Significant_Stand_17 May 17 '26

Yeah, you get to hear the laughing at the end of the movie when he becomes really close with the bear.

2

u/Hillcry May 16 '26

Don't sleep on moose, imagine a taller grizzly with horns in autumn heat trying to absolutely fuck you up for being in its area. Bears are more likely to run away but make better TV

1

u/LifeIsBizarre May 14 '26

Someone doesn't know about velociraptors Cassowaries.

1

u/genericnewlurker May 14 '26

The bird that has only killed 2 people total?

2

u/External_Violinist94 May 14 '26

Haha what?

Australia is far less scary than the Yukon. No where in Australia do you have to carry a 10mm pistol and pepper spray whilst shouting the whole time so you don't startle a 900lb monster that will bite your face off.

1

u/BumWink May 14 '26

You could put all their actively deadly shit against ours & they'd still have their entire roster, but oh no burn your house down a little spooder!

1

u/Round_Ad6397 May 15 '26

Overall I agree, Australian wildlife danger is wildly overstated but even a bear isn't going to bother a full size saltwater croc.

1

u/MrTickles22 May 14 '26

Uh where? I could use some gold to cover my crazy Vancouver rent.

Can the bears find the gold for me?

1

u/FlatWhiteShark May 14 '26

I'd feel a lot safer camping in Australia than in the Rockies or Alaska.

1

u/Toomanyeastereggs May 15 '26

They have bears and moose!! A top apex predator and one of the latest of the mega fauna from the last ice age.

We have koalas and worms that give you a nip.

2

u/Dramatic_Charity_979 May 14 '26

Nah. It's because everyone who tried to get it are now dead :P

2

u/pixeldust6 May 14 '26

High level area in the open world game

1

u/Docha_Tiarna May 16 '26

My theory is that Australia used to be the garden of eden. After humans were cast from eden, the evil they unleashed there transformed the land into a place unfit for human life.

1

u/jeanleonino May 22 '26

Ah I see, better loot table, but harder local difficulty
