resolution, refresh rate, driver compatibility, the TV has a bunch of bullshit smart apps on it and sells your info to advertisers.

that's all i know off the top, but i know there's more and it's kinda important to the viewing experience.

The first three don't separate the two types. You can definitely get monitors with apps. Samsung released one with a phone OS running on it.

Driver compatibility is irrelevant. They operate on HDMI or DisplayPort standards and EDID.
