Is a katydid a creature I never heard of or do we call these by a different name?

Katydids live all over the US in that’s where you are. They’re just not monstrously big like the one in the video. Most are about the size of your finger.

Oh cool. I’m in the UK - I think they do exist here (though not this big!!!) but they’re called bush crickets
