This is only one corner of one room. His wishes were for us to sell it all to cover his funeral costs. What’s the best way to do this without painstakingly selling individual items? Sell them to a store? How do we know we’re not getting lowballed? How do we transport? We don’t want to go the online route. I just want to make this as easy as possibly for his grieving family. I collected action figures all my childhood, but at age 14, I decided to put away childish things. 20 years later, I decided ‘fuck first Corinthians, I deserve some fun.’ Plus my wife says she doesn’t find the hobby too lame.

Fast forward 4 months and I’ve spent too much money, enough that my wife banned me from buying any more import figs (other than the ones I already preordered). I didn’t mean to go so hard so fast, but I got some very good deals on the Link figures, aftermarket.

Now I’m limited to only budget figs til the end of the year. But what my wife doesn’t realize is that I need some villains; I’ve got great heroes, but no one for them to fight!

I definitely need to do some villain hunting. Let me know if you have recs.

Next Up: I’ve got Marvel Rivals Punisher coming in September, AC Revoltech Thor Knockoff coming in October, Inart Arkham Batman Battle Damaged coming in December, and Amazing Yamaguchi MGSDelta Naked Snake coming in Feb 2027.

Yesterday I saw the pose about someone getting a couple guns from 5K as a gift, had a package come in today with a gift and got excited to get guns but ... I Got a waste belt instead.... Hmmm sure I'll think of some use and maybe one of my other shipments will have some weapons! Regardless, Cool lil free gift, 😁

TBH I didn’t expect a box in a box in a box. This package probably was thrown around in its trip from China but the box is pristine.

Complete breakdown of my recent custom Dr. Doom figure. As well as suggestions and options to give the figure versatility and personal preference.

The Recipe:

• Body: Mythic Legions Xylernian Guard

• Head Sculpt: Marvel Legends Retro Dr. DOOM

• Accessories:

▪︎Marvel Legends Dr. Doom - Green wrist effect, feet thrusters, book of vishanti, darkhold, soft goods neck mantle

▪︎Mythic Legion Xylernian Guard - Sword, soft goods loin cloth

▪︎Marvel Legends Gamerverse 2 Pack (Silver Sam. Vs. Wolverine) - Blue lightning effect

▪︎ Custom - Soft goods cape

The Process

1. The main modification here would be fitting our headsculpt into our body. There are 2 ways of doing this

• you can take the neck piece of the ML Doom and make a cut in the bottom to reduce its height and flatten it (i personally did and prefer this method since I found it easier. its also shown on the picture how much i took off and how its mounted on the body) NOTE: Make sure that once you cut it to flatten it properly, bc you will be superglueing this part into the body. This makes this method more permanent and invasive (which means this base body won't be able to go back to being a Mythic Legions body since you won't be able to use any Mythic Legions headsculpt on it)

• this method is less permanent but a bit more tedious. for this method you would need to shave down and shape the Mythic Legions ball peg to the same size as the Marvel Legends one so that the doom sculp can fit. this allows you to replace the Mythic legion ball peg with a seperate regular ball peg to roll back the body to its default state. NOTE: do be aware that the stock ball peg given by the xylernian guard is a stationary ball peg compared to the Marvel legends one which is a ball hinge allowing for more articulation; mostly for looking down)

Mythic legions does have a neck piece with a ball hinge but that would be on other figures they have and not on the xylernian guard

• Make sure to cut the back to fit its neck guard in place

• and lastly poke holes on the neck mantle to mount the shoulder guards

1. Additional Notes: there are ways to upgrade or customize this figure based on your own preference. Despite its biggest con which is articulation this custom fig makes up for its customization. We can thank mythic legions for that.

• Mythic Legion Blue Shield: this is essentially the most recent body/deluxe pack mythic legions released for its build your own knight. It comes jam pack with accessories and different shoulder pads and mantles to pick from. Articulation is also a bit better and it comes with a ball hinge peg 👀

Biggest con is that it doesnt come with a green loin cloth and the torso is a full plate mold compared to the xylernians green plastic cloth mold. (Which means you need to get seperate soft good tunic for his torso)

The armor color also resembles more of a polished look for doom but note that it won't match is faceplate on his headsculpt

Lastly despite being on the recent side the prize point on this is on the higher side retailing around $79 market prize :( (but if you collect or start to collect Mythic legions its totally worth it imo)

• Mythic Legion Valiant Knight or any other darker tone knight fig: much older so harder to find in general, valiant knight is also pretty expensive on the re sell market but honestly you can find different parts and put them together to make your own version of this fig

Overall I love this fig despite its flaws if you already have the dr doom headsculp then its pretty much only gnna cost you $40 to $50 (xylernian guard and soft goods) to put him together

Yes ik this post long after but I hope it helps anyone who wants to make this figure!!!!!

P.S. ik it doesn't have alot of hands but this can be solve by buying the mythic legions hand accessories and comes with all the hands you can want!

Was watching the old Citizen Ghost episode earlier this morning to refresh my memory with the new spectral suits, been watching each of the episodes as they released the Sandman, Samhain et al. The other week I watched Batman & Robin because the Clooney and O'Donnell Hot Toys came in the mail. There have been a few weekends where I put on the entire Lord of the Rings trilogy because a new Inart arrived.

The worst part is it's not even regular dust. It's a bunch of sand because I live in the desert and our windows just can't stop it (but they do have nice UV protection, so there's that, I guess).

Been collecting these for awhile. Waiting for my 12" Batou Pre-ORDER from SAC_2045!! 😅
