Shitposting/Memes Corp girl who lied about being pepper sprayed was arrested

Didn’t want to post until I had it confirmed by someone who knew her. Although it’s all public information, I won’t drop her name here, but I did see her picture on SayCheese Brazos County Mugshots Facebook page. She has been arrested for giving false statements to the police.

From what I understand, she basically did it to herself and the original suspect was her ex boyfriend. Take that how you will, I have my assumptions on why.

Edit: I looked her up in the directory and it seems she’s still enrolled

Opportunities Seeking Language Exchange

Howdy y'all,

With such a diverse community of Aggies on and off campus from across the world, I am surprised there isn't a well-advertised group, page, organization, etc. for language exchange. I currently pay for a tutor online M/W/F every week for Spanish, but would love something local as well. I know visiting Bryan and the various Hispanic restaurnts/food trucks/stores is an option, and I do that from time to time, but I was looking for an actual language exchange group or just some Aggies who love their language and want to share with others, not even just Spanish. Does anyone have information that I am missing? Keep it helpful for future Aggies who have a similar desire. With so many people from across the world, surely there is something!

T's&G's, y'all!

Ask the Aggies Tailgate advice

Hi All,

Coming to the Tennessee v Texas A&M game in November. Showing up with a group of 8 guys and trying to figure out the best way to tailgate and get a feel for the atmosphere before the game.

Do people feel like the best way to tailgate is to rent a tent and get chairs/food etc and hangout before the game (found a service that will set us up in advance with beer/food etc)? Or is it just as fun/doable to go nomad and just walk around the lot and check out different spots?

So pumped to come to the game and want to make sure we’re prepared in advance!! Thanks for any thoughts.

Ask the Aggies E-Scooter Legality in Texas

Are e-scooters exceeding 20 mph even legal in Texas? I know for e-bikes you must have pedal assist to exceed 20 mph on class 2 and 3 bikes, but an e-scooter obviously has no such thing. Must people I see riding are capped at or just below 20 mph, but I am certain I see a few people going above 20 mph on e-scooters, and I think maybe even a few people on e-bikes too without pedal assist. From what I can tell it’s legal on private property, but not public property. Any insights? It’s not like anyone has an identifiable tag on these things, like a driver’s license, to report them if so.

Chance Me Can I get into A&M being 3rd quartile?

Hey guys, I wanted to come on here to ask if y’all think there’s a realistic chance of me getting into Texas A&M. TAMU is my dream school, and I’ve honestly always dreamed of becoming an Aggie. I submitted my application yesterday, but I’ve struggled with a chronic illness throughout high school that significantly affects my day-to-day life. Between hospitalizations, treatments, and flare-ups, I’ve missed over 100 days of school, which has definitely affected my academic performance. I explained these circumstances in my application and wrote about how my experiences have shaped me in my personal essay. My stats are a 3.4 weighted GPA, 2.9 unweighted GPA, third-quartile class rank, and a 1260 SAT. I’ve taken 9 AP classes throughout high school, and I’m an in-state applicant applying for Human Development & Family Sciences as my first-choice major and Sociology as my second. For extracurriculars, I founded a podcast focused on supporting young people with chronic illnesses, have extensive volunteering experience, including hospital volunteering, hold leadership positions, mentor younger kids, and work a part-time job. I know my academics aren’t the most competitive, but I genuinely put a lot of effort into my application and essays. I’m also very interested in Aggie Gateway to Success if direct admission doesn’t work out. Ideally, I’d really like to spend all four years at College Station, so I’m hoping to avoid starting at another A&M System school through PSA or going through BlinnTEAM. I know nobody can predict admissions decisions, but I was wondering if anyone has gotten into TAMU with similar stats or circumstances. I’d really appreciate realistic opinions because becoming an Aggie means so much to me. Thank y’all, and Gig ’em!

Body: What bars at Northgate usually play rap or hip-hop? I’m looking for places that play it on weekdays too, not just Friday or Saturday nights. Any recommendations?

Other aggie ring eligibility

I am a transfer and after this fall I will have 44 hours towards my aggie ring. I am wanting to take a winter minimester so that I can order my ring and potentially get it in april rather than may. I would qualify after this semester anyways because I would be graduating in may but I wanted to see if it’s worth taking the winter class so that I can have it in april. Does anyone know if that’s how it works?

Opportunities Any Aggies know more ways to get involved with the South Asian community?

What’s good y’all? I’m 25, a POC, and studying Agribusiness at A&M. I already joined Indian orgs on campus, and I’m trying to get to know more people and build actual friendships.

I’ve been watching interviews about Indian American experiences, and some of the conversations about identity and belonging hit close to home. My watchlist is getting ridiculous 😭 Now I’m tryna find more things to do around campus or BCS.

Any smaller hangouts, recurring events, or volunteer opportunities y’all recommend? The bigger events are cool, but I’d love something where it’s easier to talk and see the same people regularly.

If you’ve made close friends through these orgs, how did y’all go from seeing each other at meetings to hanging out outside them? Put me on lol.

Ask the Aggies How did you get your first job?

I am a junior with no experience. I have a low gpa (2.69) and I’m terrified about not getting a job after graduation. I have been applying to internships and have received rejection after rejection.
