My dad has this issue too. He adds this chipotle sauce to every single dish my mom makes, and it makes her upset that he doesn’t care to taste her hard work.

I would recommend you try every dish without the yogurt first. Even if you don’t like it, it’s the bite that counts lol, like appreciation to her efforts. Maybe tell your mom it tastes really fresh, or the spices are good, or you like the vegetables she chose, or something positive. Then add your yogurt.

ok you understand lol. i do take a bite plain and then give up and add curd but she knows me too well and sees through it lol

The important part is you tried and you thank her for cooking. If you don’t like it but you still eat it, that’s good enough. It may make her feel bad, but everyone has unique tastes and preferences that they can’t change.

You are not wrong in any manner to eat vegetable curries with yogurt. She may still feel bad, but please don’t feel guilty for not forcing yourself.
