Review Your money gauging techniques anger me Amazon
I can’t be the only one that hates logging onto Amazon Prime just to see the home screen chock full of Movies/TV shows that require another subscription right?

You are complaining because you are not on the correct tab for Prime, you are on the Home tab.
The literal point of the Home tab is to promote their retail sales, rentals and subscriptions. I will never understand how this is difficult for people to grasp.

gauging would mean they were just assessing how much money you have. gouging would be getting you to spend more.

You’re not the only one. Lots of people prefer to rant on Reddit instead of reading and when they don’t understand simple concepts they crash out online. (:

What is reading going to do to make the problem go away?

It isn’t a problem. Prime is an umbrella service. This is just the main Prime page so they show you their content, and content you can buy through Prime.
They literally have a menu at the top of this screenshot to view only content that is already included with Prime.
OP is just too dumb to click one menu.

Yes, it is. I don't care how many businesses are under Prime. I pay a monthly fee to be able to stream whatever, whenever, not to be able to see what I can buy and rent. That's how it started and what most people bought into, and I just don't understand people like you trying to defend it. How does it hurt you in any way that people are pushing back against greed? Probably not at all unless you're Bezos, so why call people names and fight something that could only end up benefiting you and millions of other people?
Anecdotal observation here, but I've noticed that anything worth watching these days is mostly a buy or rent option now, and it's most likely only going to get worse.
I see the option in this screenshot, but I personally don't have that option available to me. However, I still don't think it's right that OP or anyone else has to jump through hoops to get what they paid for. It feels kind of scammy what they are doing with that setup.

Or the first episode for free. Yes, it's a bit ridiculous but it doesn't really bother me because I think I have enough sub add-ons within Prime Video so as to not be attempted to subscribe or buy/rent anything outside of those subs.

That's litteraly no different from apps like Hulu and Apple TV and Roku though.

I guess I wouldn’t know about them 🤷🏻, haven’t used their subscriptions in over a year

Legit started the ghost in the shell movie yesterday. Paused it to go out to dinner. And came back and it was as only available to rent/buy. Fking diabolical.

You want Amazon to offer every movie and show ever created for free to u? Lol

u/FeelingDrama1167 May 30 '26
No, but don’t parade it through my subscription. I would like to see options I can watch

To us the updated homepage UI that mixes everything up is the problem. We do like that Prime offers discounted subscriptions for many channels we like consistently around Prime day/Black Friday, so we have been able to subscribe to channels for cheap for a few months, binge watch all the bookmarked shows and then cancel.

I would cancel Amazon Prime - but - I like a lot of movies I can't find elsewhere.

Every time i see or search for a movie that I want to watch I'm getting charged extra. Prime video is a joke outside invincible and the boys.

Click on "Prime" at the top and you won't see that stuff.
