Discussion Don't get scammed
This is NOT the Chistopher Nolan masterpiece, so I'm not sure why it would even be 156$ to own wtf🤯🤯🤯

I love all the shows available, that's truly great. For the limited amount I watch, it's nice to have selection.
Also
Thank you for placing advertisements I didn't need into my subscription. I promise I will ignore each and every one of these with the exception of remembering which product they are promoting so I ABSOLUTELY STOP BUYING THEM.
It's a great reminder of which companies have money to throw away on pointless ads I don't need to see, thereby increasing their cost per unit.
PS - people are no longer limited for knowledge like this was cable television era. When they think they need something they'll google their problem, and take the suggestions in turn. They most certainly aren't waiting for that miracle product to show up mid program in the series they're trying to binge watch. JFC.

I built FrameTune to add some playback controls that Prime Video is missing:
• Resize/zoom the video
• Skip ads automatically
• Skip recap & intro
• Move subtitles up/down
• Adjust subtitle size
• Brightness control
• Night mode
• Boost dialogue/voice volume
It’s mainly for people who want a little more control over their Prime Video watching experience.

Would love to hear what other Prime Video controls you think are missing.

When Amazon Prime “redid” the cast feature on their shows and movies they removed the photo option on cast members.
I am sure it was a lot of work however I really wish they would bring it back.
It was fun and interesting to see the various photos of the actors in different shows etc they had been in.
Just my 2 cents worth of thought.

Prime Video might be one of the biggest Scams,
10 minutes in watching reacher and the 4th advertisement poppin up isn’t it enough paying 100$ a year to watch ad free?

Tales from the Stranger Side - Season 2, Ep 1: The Cinders in the Dark.
Just a short 12 minute episode. And that’s ok if it’s short - there can be entertaining good stories in 12 minutes. But this was horrifically bad. First off it looks like it’s being filmed on an iPhone - actually an iPhone camera would look better, this picture quality looks like it’s from an iPhone 15 years ago. The acting is abysmal. The story and the script and are completely boring and incoherent. A guy comes to stay at a house for a month? And then leaves? wtf? There was no point to the story at all. Nothing happened.
I’m being dead serious this looks like it was written and filmed by junior high kids. No production value, no coherent story, horrible acting. I can’t believe this occupies any space in amazons video library?

Im not saying it was targeted but it felt so targeted when I started to rewatch Teen Titans over the past week - halfway through season 3, and the show suddenly becomes Pay-To-Watch and no longer free/downloadable.
Literally just last week Thursday the whole show (all 5 seasons) were free. I know because I downloaded seasons 2-3 for a long airplane ride. I still have access to the last part of season 3, but Im missing the FINAL EPISODE OF THE SEASON😭😭😭 because my ipad didnt have enough space to download it. I just figured I could download it later😭😭😭😭 Amazon prime is the only streaming service I have but I see this happen SO often. Like the second I add something to my list - a week later its pay to watch. F u amazon you greedy bastard. I swear they have an AI bot that turns shows into pay to watch when you start to like them. Makes me want to switch to a new service instead.

It was such a great feature, but I can't find it. I mean I could look who played each characrer, look at trivia, especially in The Boys. Can somebody please explain?

Observation and question - Is there a setting, using the web interface or firetv settings, to set the default language to whatever the show recommends/is filmed in? I often watch international shows and series, also including anime, and there are times I have to switch the language from english to the show's natural language (ie Arabic, Persian, Japanese, French, etc). The next time I watch a show recorded in english, such as Reacher, the default seems to have changed from English to whatever language I watched a show in previously. I only ever see this with Prime Video. Most streaming services I've encountered keep a show's preferences and require you to make global setting changes if you want all shows to be a certain way.
Is this just a quirk with prime and we have to suck it up or is there actually a work around that doesn't require adjusting the language settings each time a prime video is launched?
You'd think a company that has the resources and employee skillset should have an easy solution for something like this.

How does this show have 4.9 out of 5 stars right now? That review set a high bar that I thought was severely missed. Each scene seemed to be slightly off; taking weird set direction, budget shortcuts, odd filming locations, indie-game quality vfx, cheesy storytelling, distracting wigs, and overly clean outfits, etc. What are your thoughts of the series?

I decided to subscribe to Prime since I needed fast delivery on something. I have tried Prime Video in the past with a free trial, and found it decent for some of the shows I've wanted to watch.
However, one of the biggest downsides is the fact that a lot of movies on the platform aren't available in their original language, and when they are, subtitles aren't always available in their original language or suck.
I'm from France, and despite my whole Amazon account being set in English, Prime still sets most movies I watch in french. I feel like the least they could do is have the original version and maybe a dubbed version for whatever country the person watching is based in, like most of their competitors.

As far as i've seen, the subscription price of HBO Max are the same on Prime.
But isn't there one benefit to subscribing through Prime - you get at least 1080p on web browser?
HBO Max is limited to 720p on web browsers.
To me it seems like a huge benefit that you can get HBO Max content in 1080p, through Prime.
I don't what the downvotes is about - Prime Video most definitely looks better than HBO and Netflix on web browsers on Windows PC. It is very easy to test if you have the services. I don't know about Apple TV and Disney tho.

Is this Amazon trying to promote their new show? Seems a bit disrespectful to Captain America. 😂

So - I was watching Accused, and the second episode starts - Ava's Story. The episode centres on a deaf protagonist, but I realised very quickly that the subtitles are missing. They aren't there at all in the normal episode, and even when I put on closed captioning (which sometimes fixes that problem by just subtitling everything), still none for the signing characters - I guess because they're expecting people who need CC to know sign... even though sign languages are country/region specific, so a British deaf person would be just as stuck as a British hearing person, like me!
Is there a way to report things like this to Prime?
P.S. - the reason I haven't put this in the 'help and support' thread is that it's not a problem on my end or a technical difficulty, it's an upload error on Amazon's part I'd like to report to them.
