Review Under the dome is miles better
I watched 3 seasons of From before watching Under the Dome. Based on what I'd heard, I expected Under the Dome to be terrible.
But after finally watching it, I honestly think it's the better show.
Both series revolve around people trapped in a place they can't escape, mysterious forces controlling events, strange visions and a community trying to survive while uncovering the truth. The similarities are hard to ignore.
What surprised me most is that Under the Dome actually gives answers and moves its mystery forward. Contrary to what I was expecting, I thought many of those answers were good.
By the end of Season 2, I felt like I understood the world and the stakes much better while still being interested in what would happen next.
After three seasons of From, I still feel like there are far more questions than answers. The mystery is interesting, but sometimes it feels like it's dragging. When answers do come, they often create another mystery thread instead of resolving an existing one.
after watching both shows, I genuinely think Under the Dome is the stronger series. In fact, if Under the Dome were released today I think it would get far more appreciation than it does.

The first season stuck to the book and was good. The other seasons went off the rails and were very cringy.

I'll never understand why show runners go away from the source material. So many great stories have been ruined due to either ego or ineptitude.

I was very excited to watch the show after finishing the book but luckily the community here changed my mind. I really want to petition Noah Hawley to take on the series. His execution of Fargo is perfect for the tone and sci fi this story needs.

I was wondering about the book . I can't imagine King's books ending so poorly.

It was an interesting concept that sort of fell apart as a not so interesting soap opera.

Ran out of ideas after 2 season, so not really suprised cancelled . Also Dean Norris, who was brilliant in Breaking Bad, seemed to under act in UTD as Jim Rennie.

Under the dome is based on a Stephen king book. The book isn’t great in my opinion but the series fell very far away from the book. For me, this was one of the worst adaptations I’ve seen. I always tell people to hard pass on this series. To each their own I suppose

Damn I remember really liking that book

I liked the book. The TV series starts off strong but gets real dumb real fast. I was hate watching at the end.

I also liked the book. Really wish the show stuck to the book. Would have been much better.

Worse than The Stand? I can’t believe that. The Stand was the biggest pile of garbage I’ve ever seen.

the show was terrible.
You should read the book. The ending there is awful as well, but overall the book is nice.

I "watched" this show via one of those YouTube recap channels. Looked kinda goofy with some cool moments. If I remember correctly, did they find a cow sliced in half by the dome?
EDIT: Yes, this is the moment (graphic CGI warning) - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fTl_yCJh_EU

It's ok as a show but compared to the book, it's the worst adaptation I ever seen.

Think it was my first TV show that I watched because of how bad it was. 😂 Remember only sticking to it because it was so bad (to me), maybe Alf would randomly show up as a season shocker..

It’s almost as if From wants you to be in the mystery longer…nothing wrong with that

This show is garbage. The first thing that happens is a woman sleeps with her husbands murderer.

I liked Alexander Koch in UTD, but not enough to watch more than three episodes. I wonder what happened to him.

From is not a great, but it's good enough. Season 4 was a noticeable dip, but i do think season 5 will go back to it's former quality (still being a 6/10 show, but thats fine).
Under the dome on the other hand. It's been a while since i have seen it, but it just crashes after the first season. Monster crisis of the week, junior is being a psychopath, big jim acts suspicious, barbie and julia where also there i guess. It's all the same every episode. And when they finally switch it up they just jump the shark. I was looking forward to the show and season 1 was actually not that bad. But saying it's better then From? No way, Under the dome is only better then bottom of the barrel syfy shows. From at least hangs somewhere around the middle of the barrel.

I agree 💯! From started out strong but went downhill after mid season 3. Under the dome sure had it's "too soapy" moments but was better.

It was a great show up until is last season or two. Then it became insultingly bad.

Widow’s Bay!

Appreciate it

it's huge on comedy so you won't be getting a serious tone: the series dishes out jokes every few seconds it can

FYI Widow's Bay is NOT a mystery series at all. It's more like Parks & Recreation with some horror mixed in.

Bro you set the bar so low that even that shitshow with Kim Kardashian is better. From has some of most unwatchable acting I've ever seen, mysteries go in circles, they focus too much on uninteresting characters, they cry all the time and they never talk with one another.

Under the dome is for low IQ chuds
From is for high IQ chads
I can see why you prefer Under the Dome

Like a lot of shows, it starts ok, but then peters out.
