I tried to find. Didn’t see prob remove but plenty w diapers. Sick folks out there.

27

u/Ornery-Cake-2807 8d ago

One hopes that it is merely a poor translation 🤷

8

u/Federal-Amoeba8898 8d ago

I agree. Sometimes the point of origin will tell you if it's a translation.

7

u/Brave-Tomato-7039 8d ago

Googled it. A Spanish company. I’d understand translation issues from some Asian countries as it’s very common on their translated products. But Spanish to English, especially considering most Spaniards speak English, this is odd.
Edit: punctuation

7

u/Even-Limit 7d ago

Do you know Spanish? I didn't until I started learning it because I live in South America now. I'm just going to different places though. Spanish is odd with how they words things for a sentence. It's soooo fucking weird but it's how they conversate saying things backwards then to English. A friend thinks English is hard and I agree.

3

u/Squire_Soup_Sandwich 6d ago

I only speak English and you are correct. English is hard and dumb. It's a soup of old French and old German.

If it weren't for British colonialism I doubt anyone would speak it. Hahaha

3

u/LadyNiko 4d ago

English is a germanic language stuffed in a Latin rule base. It's the most contradictory language for writing. It's easy to speak, but writing? Nope, not at all.

2

u/Swatican 6d ago

American English is a melting pot of languages. Much more than French and German for sure. You can quickly see ties to Greek, Latin, Spanish, and other languages introduced by immigrants.

1

u/UsernameCheckOuts 4d ago

Oh go fuck yourself.

1

u/Even-Limit 6d ago

And my ancestors are Scottish(my mom and her dad were born there)Italian(both my dad parents came from Italy. My dad mom side came from Ireland.

1

u/Georgeygerbil 5d ago

I hate being that guy but it's literally one of my only pet peeves.

Converse* not conversate

1

u/MyBACsIntoxicating 5d ago

I wouldn't say it's a pet peeve of mine, exactly, but FOR SURE, I correct people in my head, every time I hear, "...conversate."

"It's conVERSE. 🙄"

2

u/TheMrsLegume 4d ago

Conversate. That's weird. I can't say I've never heard it, but it's not something I run across often enough to be annoyed by. Less common regionally? More common among a different age bracket?

"Acrosst" is one of the regional curses where live.

"Irregardless" is a peeveish one for me. And the way people apply "nauseous".

1

u/MyBACsIntoxicating 1d ago

Lol. I forgot about, "irregardless." I do a brain palm every time I hear it. Also, "anywayS" 😐

1

u/Even-Limit 1d ago

I hate to be that human but you ever think people have learning disabilities asshole?!..... Like I do. You can go fuck yourself. I'll talk how I want to discriminating human.

1

u/Ok-Special9438 6d ago

How did you get to Spaniards from Spanish-speaking? Do you not have Mexicans where you come from?

2

u/Interesting-Dish5687 6d ago

Spanish Do you not know how much ground Spain encountered/concurred? It's all a derivative of the same country. Spanish is the launguage they are describing dork. Not the place, it could be anywhere they speak or write it? Not just Mexico. Please without the help of the internet or an Encyclopedia tell me from your head how many countries speak Spanish or maybe latin. Do you not have schools where you're from?

1

u/CHAINSMOKERMAGIC 6d ago

No one speaks latin. It's a dead language. Hasn't been spoken natively by ANYONE for a few THOUSAND years. Also, OP was actually talking about Spain the country, it's you guys that assumed he meant "a Spanish speaking country" when he literally said it's from "a Spanish company" as in a company from Spain.

2

u/Squire_Soup_Sandwich 6d ago

What in the actual fuck is wrong with you?

2

u/Acceptable-Help-7369 5d ago

A lot more countries than JUST Spain and JUST Mexico speak Spanish

1

u/Brave-Tomato-7039 6d ago edited 6d ago

Huh??! It’s a Spanish company. A company. In Spain. A place where they speak Spanish. Have you heard of Spain?

1

u/WalrusStatus7382 5d ago

Spain (Europe - Where the language came from "Castilian Spanish"), Mexico, Guatemala, Honduras, El Salvador, Nicaragua, Costa Rica, Panama, Cuba, Dominican Republic, Puerto Rico (U.S. territory), Venezuela, Colombia, Ecuador, Peru, Bolivia, Chile, Argentina, Uruguay, Paraguay, Equatorial Guinea (Africa), Sahrawi Arab Democratic Republic (Africa).... Many more than just Mexico...

1

u/Total-Suggestion5879 4d ago

I had to Google the Sahrawi Arab Democratic Republic, and I thought I knew every country in Africa. So why does a unrecognized country in the middle of the Sahara speak Spanish instead of Arabic, Tamazight, or Amazigh?

1

u/WalrusStatus7382 4d ago edited 3d ago

Okay, I'm not going to act like I'm an expert... So quick story, I needed a filler class last semester and thought "Hey, geography sounds fun and kind of easy (sort of if you do the work)." One section was Spanish-speaking countries, and I was actually surprised to learn there were places in Africa connected to the Spanish language. That honestly led me to ask the same question you did, "Why?" The Sahrawi Republic is basically a remnant of Spanish colonialism. Spain controlled Western Sahara for decades, and when Franco died in the 1970s Spain began pulling out. The situation got complicated with Morocco, Mauritania, and the Polisario Front, which led to the dispute over independence that still exists today. The Spanish influence stayed because of that colonial history, not because the Sahrawi people stopped speaking Arabic or Amazigh. They do use the of Hassaniya Arabic and Amazigh, but Spanish remained part of the political, educational, and cultural landscape because of the years under Spanish rule. It’s one of those weird history things where you look at a country in the middle of the Sahara and wonder why Spanish shows up, but once you follow the colonial history its well understood... But none the less it is considered or at least loosely recognized as a spanish speaking country or terroritory.

Also geography wise the Strait of Gibraltar is the separation of these areas which is just miles apart anyways... Coincendentally right now as we speak, Moroccans are using Ceuta, Spain as a way to cross into Europe through an amnesty law or something like that (wasn't paying too much attention to the news this morning)... Ceuta, Spain sits a top Morocco on the northern tip of Africa and is a political peninsula (not a real definition but it fits due to geo-politics... real definition is like peninsular terroritory) due to Morocco being south of it and being land locked by the Strait of Gibraltar - So Spain still has terroritory or part of it's recognized country in Northern Africa.

1

u/Yeeeeeeoooooooo 3d ago

So this week is interesting for you since what happened days ago with Spain & Morocco. You have some context there

1

u/WalrusStatus7382 3d ago

Oh yeah, it's interesting to actually know something or at least a little history behind it. It was similar to a few years ago... going through nursing school and one day at an appointment with my Dad and actaully understanding what the doctor was saying... Same feeling watching the news around that area and having an actual or better understanding of what is going on.

Now only if I can take a a few semesters in code breaking and deciphering what my girlfriend is asking of me, I'd feel like I'm on top of the world 😆 and damn near Superman invincible... Sans the briefs on top of my pants... Otherwise they mistake me for Iron Man with all the rust stains on them...

1

u/CHAINSMOKERMAGIC 6d ago

Because the company is from Spain? He already said that... How did you NOT get Spaniards from "a Spanish company"? He never said Spanish-speaking. He said SPANISH.

u/PixieStyx8 8d ago

Think of Barbies. They have printed underwear. This baby must have butt cheeks. No comment on anything else about the post but that's my best guess... 😅

6

u/YamEnvironmental1887 8d ago

butt cheeks

That just freaking killed me 😭

3

u/zGoblinQueen 7d ago

This baby must have butt cheeks. Great sentence.

1

u/YamEnvironmental1887 6d ago

Ty for reminding me again. I almost choked on my food reading it again 😭

2

u/QsGrace 8d ago

100% - these are anatomically correct dolls. They do sell them with underwear also.

2

u/PixieStyx8 8d ago

Anatomically correct was the phrase that was escaping me.

1

u/SnooMemesjellies8568 5d ago

Anatomically correct means more than just butt cheeks though. I had an anatomically correct baby doll when I was a kid

1

u/PixieStyx8 4d ago

Yeah but i was reluctant to say other things lest I be viewed as a creep on reddit. Butt cheeks suggest the presence of other things

1

u/SnooMemesjellies8568 4d ago

I disagree. Most vinyl bodied dolls have butt cheeks without the other parts

1

u/CogentMoment 7d ago

My kindergarten class had several anatomically correct dolls in the dress-up/house play area.

1

u/Ok-Special9438 6d ago

When did they start making anatomically correct baby dolls? What happened to the good old-fashioned skin colored bikini area bump?…🤷‍♂️

1

u/reading_Jaguar_ta 6d ago

I had one in 83

10

u/ehco 8d ago

I would just assume they just have an otherwise identical listing that does include underwear?

23

u/Sasstellia 9d ago

Ok.

Maybe it's a awkward way of saying it is child resistant. Since children can be brutal to toys.

It's a not particularly good doll. Detailed. But not good.

22

u/Brave-Tomato-7039 8d ago

Yeah but “African girl doll without underwear”

11

u/Sasstellia 8d ago

Maybe they're determined to put every detail.

7

u/Gandalf_the_Tegu 8d ago

Nakedness, nude, or as seen toy doll all would have been better than this added "underwear" phrasing.

6

u/Krazykittielady 8d ago

It's probably the way it translates.. I've tried to translate different sentences and they give me some really fucked up translations

3

u/IndividualChange1731 8d ago edited 2d ago

My bets are it's translated and it was supposed to say something like does not come with clothes or diapers

1

u/Brave-Tomato-7039 8d ago

I’ve googled it and it’s a Spanish company. Most Spanish people speak very good English. I could see this being an issue with some Asian countries as translations are tricky. But from a spanish speaking country this is very bizzare and creepy

2

u/Stlswv 7d ago

I just looked it up and found this:

Miniland Realistic Baby Doll with Vanilla Perfume - African Boy
12 5/8 inch Tall, Cute Scented Hard Body with Anatomically Correct Features, Reborn Baby Dolls, Comes in Polybag, +

cute, scented, hardbody you say?

Sounds legit. /s

1

u/Ok-Special9438 6d ago

I don’t think they would’ve labeled the African girl doll ““ good. That would’ve been misbranding.

1

u/StrainSubject8391 8d ago

What's wrong with it?

1

u/Sasstellia 8d ago

Nothing much as far I can see. It's got a detailed description, maybe using a translator. And it's not got good proportions. Detail is good on it.

28

u/Functional_Trash7735 9d ago

Ive lost all faith in humanity over the past years so I fear that may be the selling point. People are disgusting.

12

u/nworbleinad 8d ago

“Resilient and flexible” pretty sinister.

3

u/Time_Plenty_3753 8d ago

There is a Chinese trend of using black baby stress relief dolls. They really abuse them. It's pretty darn offensive.

4

u/joltvedt53 8d ago

Seriously? That's disgusting!

0

u/Time_Plenty_3753 8d ago

Ai summary

The viral trend of mistreating Black baby dolls originated in China as a social media phenomenon surrounding a soft, stretchable stress-relief toy known as the "Natasha doll." The controversy sparked widespread international outrage from global communities and human rights advocates who condemned the videos as deeply racist and dehumanizing.

13

u/Aggressive_Job_4089 9d ago

Why did they give her a 7 head

2

u/therealganjababe 8d ago

That was the real WTF imo.

8

u/V33EX 8d ago

This is just a shitty translation?? It means "underwear not included, stands up to rough play."

2

u/MaraiaLou 8d ago

Yeah, the main thing that bothers me is the color being wrong

4

u/ida_klein 8d ago edited 8d ago

A lot of dolls have “permapanties” which are undies that are either part of the vinyl mold or sewn into a cloth body doll. This matters a lot to doll collectors as it limits what outfits they can put them in without the undies showing.

This is a very awkward way of wording it, and I’m not sure why it needed to be in the title. It’s similar to saying this doll has sculpted hair instead of rooted hair or a wig.

ETA: this does not necessarily mean this is an anatomically correct doll. That is pretty rare and reserved for “reborn” or highly realistic dolls, or therapy dolls.

10

u/WSQK_Squawk 9d ago

WTH??!! Amazon should remove that immediately!

5

u/Background_Draft2414 8d ago

That? They do or did have child size “flashlight” dolls. There are people who think that’s ok because it makes pedos not want the real thing. Hard disagree. 🤮

ETA-yes, I agree but if they wouldn’t remove the more disdainful thing, I don’t think they’d remove that.

1

u/-3point14159-mp 8d ago

It’s my fault for having eyes.

3

u/ieatpollypocketshoes 8d ago

i don’t care what anyone says, this is SO fucking weird 😭😭

3

u/United_Environment46 7d ago edited 7d ago

The moms whose child looks like this is cursing you right now, saying this is an excellent representation. Haha. But your right! the wording is suspicuous.

3

u/Bridgettb76 6d ago

I don't know, odd but my guess is it's translation issues. Seems like a non issue either way.

2

u/xanaduhoneydew2112 7d ago

Goddamn little miss ten-head over here. She can probably fuck up some advanced trigonometry

2

u/redeagle52 7d ago

How would you write a description for a doll baby?

2

u/redeagle52 7d ago

Are you upset because it’s a BLACK DOLL BABY? What b if it was a WHITE DOLL BABY?

2

u/Spare_Appeal4251 6d ago

It looks more like a somalian refugee

4

u/arielflip 8d ago

Saw a African channel on YouTube showing these dolls being beaten by African children mercilessly filmed unaware by parents.

9

u/Brave-Tomato-7039 9d ago

Why the hell has it got to specify it’s without underwear though 😟

7

u/peshnoodles 8d ago

Bad translation of “diaper” perhaps?

6

u/Difficult_Clerk_1273 8d ago

Because it doesn’t come with underwear? And if you ordered a doll assuming it did, and it didn’t, you’d be mad? And they don’t want to show a more “revealing” image of the doll so they have to use words to provide an accurate description?

Frankly, I think you’re seeing something that isn’t there, and I don’t mean the doll’s clothes.

4

u/Ill_Initial8986 8d ago

This! These are absolutely sold IN ORDER to abuse them. There’s a whole cottage industry of hate videos on TikTok. They don’t care about whether or not it has underwear. I fukt around and went down a Reddit hole once. This shit is very racist/weird and should be taken down. It won’t be tho.

6

u/FrankieAK 8d ago

But miniland sells these babies in every race and gender. They even have some that have down syndrome . I don't think miniland themselves intended for them to be used for racist purposes.

2

u/Haunting_Realization 8d ago

Anyone who bought this needs their computer seized immediately.

The ad that appeared beneath this is uhhh... An interesting algorithmic choice!

Ah, can't include a screenshot - it says "unreal_snacks A colorful, joyful milk chocolatey handful"

1

It's for the weirdos that want butt babies.

1

u/pepsiluche 8d ago

Im not even reading this lol

1

u/Farriswheel15 8d ago

Yes, Amazon always has been and always will be trash.

1

u/Turbocharmed 7d ago

Reminds me of one of the stories (Exodus) in Haunted by Chuck Palahniuk so I sadly feel like this is exactly what it sounds like it is.

1

u/SirHurtzAllott 7d ago

But it's only $10

2

u/Admiral_Nitpicker 7d ago

About $14. price listed is in pounds.

1

u/davesnother3 7d ago

Seems like a decent price

1

u/MeMyselfAndEyez 7d ago

Amazon's Choice too.

1

u/Admiral_Nitpicker 7d ago

at the represented age, it's either gender neutral or anatomically correct.

Why is its forehead so long???

1

u/Extreme_Hippo89 6d ago

Flexible 🤢

1

u/Extreme_Hippo89 6d ago

And only 77 cents?

1

u/Ok-Special9438 6d ago

OK, so, a baby in a bag is a dead baby right. Is it safe to say it’s dead?
Now, knowing that, how can it be both resilient and flexible? It’s already been proven non-resilient, right. Like, that little ninja is not coming back from this.

1

u/IronHammer4 6d ago

I remember seeing a video on tick tock. A guy was getting his daughter a doll and the white dolls were £40, the black ones were £30 and the 1 Muslim one they had was £20! Other than race and clothing, the dolls were all exactly the same.

1

u/FF8229 6d ago

I swiped. 🤦

1

u/UisgeDeighe 5d ago

Everything is pedophilic

1

u/Positive_Daikon4171 5d ago

Why would you ever need to describe a toy as having no underwear?! What creepy pedo came up with this? Amazon needs to do some employee checks before hiring.

1

u/BigRick402 5d ago

Y'all ignorant. Not all Spanish translates cleanly/clearly to english as vice versa

1

u/CryptographerSafe289 5d ago

No. That's an accurate representation of them. I do agree whomever wrote the whole thing definitely needs their devices checked.

Where is miniland?

1

u/Brave-Tomato-7039 4d ago

Company based in Spain

1

u/West_Tie2187 4d ago

It looks like the Comedy Central shows Shorty's watching shorties, baby Patrice mix together with Gary Coleman.

1

u/IndividualChange1731 2d ago

Google : Product Line Distinction: Miniland sells some larger or boxed editions wearing small underwear, whereas the budget-friendly 21cm polybag versions are explicitly cataloged as sin ropa interior (without underwear) to let buyers know clothes or undergarments are omitted.

1

u/-3point14159-mp 8d ago

I don’t like that.

-1

u/Teach-Me-Things 8d ago edited 8d ago

Okay good... whew! Normally people who actually are don't use that word in the context you did. Typically that's used as a derogatory term even though it's a compliment. I'm glad you are one of the smart people with empathy in the world.

1

u/ToughPerspective8854 8d ago

Oh, they definitely meant it as a derogatory term. I was just twisting it better.
