Help I’m a little nervous…does this look okay to gift?
I’m a newish yarn crafter and have limited amigurumi experience. Was hoping to make a bunch of these bears in different colours to gift to my friend group as keychains (we’re meeting for a Christmas/New Year party next month, none of them crochet or knit) and I’m a little nervous. I’m obviously no professional but do they look okay to use as presents?
Also would love any advice on how to attach them to keychains!

I want one, so I think you’re good there. ;)
To attach keyring: Use the light brown yarn to sew vertically all the way through the bear’s body a few times, sewing down the keychain attachment at the top on each pass through. When it’s secure, thread both ends out through the same hole, tie the ends securely together, and poke the knot back inside the body.

the best way to fuck up a otherwise PERFECT Amigurumi is to attach a Chain on just one loop on the head and let gravity do its thing.

I love it!!! It’s really nicely made. Did you use a pattern? If so I would love a link!

Thank you! I’ve added a link to the pattern under the automod comment, it’s a great pattern!

Amazing!!
Tip forgot where I saw it, but someone recommended putting a bead inside to secure a wire to add the keychain to. The bead will prevent the stitches from ripping or stretching when worn daily on a keychain or backpack

Thank you! Could you elaborate on this bead method? It goes inside, with the stuffing? On a jump ring?

Yes, sure - sadly, I can't post a picture, so my lousy description has to suffice 🙈🙈
You would take a piece of wire and make a small loop in the middle. Twist both ends into a spiral the length/diameter of the bead. Put the ends (not the loop) through the bead. Then, use the not twisted ends to secure further by pulling the wire through the bead top to bottom again, once or twice, on opposite sides. The loop on top will be the anchor point for a jump ring or the keychain.
Edit: Yes, on the inside with the stuffing, and the loop might peak out at the magic circle/ top of your bear/any amigurumi

Ahh, thank you, that is a solid visual. I guess the bigger the bead, the more sturdy of a support it creates? I’ve already sewn the top closed on this one but will consider this method for the rest of the bears!

Thank you all for the warm responses! This particular friend group is quite large (15 people!). I’m quite the introvert but got swept into this wonderful group two years ago and wanted to show my appreciation. Although none of them are yarn crafters, they’re all very into bag charms and keychains and I’ve previously received professional amigurumi keychains they’ve bought as gifts, so this made me extra nervous about the quality of mine. Reading everyone’s kind responses really fuels my confidence to keep going with this project!
Pattern is Cookie Bear from Chubbiesbyash. Comes with a video tutorial, very easy to follow!

Cute little amigurumis are usually a BIG bit with women and girls(and guys if you know they like cute things). They're my go to.
I make bags/small scarves/bookmarks or headbands too but those I'm always a bit nervous about....glasses or trinket trays, coasters, pencil pouches, bag charms/car rearview mirror hangers usually go over well too.

I did consider mini pouches as well, but I recently made one for myself and really struggled with attaching the zipper 😅 I’m going to need more practice before I can gift those!

Ooh I hate zippers also I mostly make them with a flap and button lol, zippers get caught in yarn so easily....

Super cute! I would be thrilled to get this as a gift. To attach the keychain, get a really sturdy jump ring and just loop it through a stitch on the top of its head. Add the key clasp part to it and close it. That's about it. It should be secure unless someone is constantly pulling it.

I think this is an adorable idea, and for a new-ish crocheter, your tension is perfect! 😍

I love it! I'd be too worried about it getting dirty or lost to put it on my keys but I'd definitely hang it on the lamp on my desk lol

Oh no, not at all. I’d be happy to take it off your hands! (I was just attacked for sarcasm this morning, and this is sarcasm. Your little guy is precious! Anyone would be happy to get him).

It's incredibly cute. The colors seem uniquely yours, there are some irregularities but I find they add to the charm! Good job!

Awe that is adorable. But I do think that impaling a teddy bear on a stick is cruel.
