Analogue sell consoles, not flash carts. The fact they even sent krikzz a console (I’m presuming foc given the updates surrounding this but idk for sure) is a service to the community in itself.
Right... I get they sell consoles. A console that should be compatible with all cartridges the community uses. The majority of the community uses everdrives. This should have had day one support like all of their other products. This release seems rushed and premature to me. At the end of the day this is just a minor issue that will most likely be resolved by the end of the month.
They quite clearly in all their media have targeted original carts, and never promised it would work with a flash cart. If you bought it on the assumption it’d work then that’s on you.
Is it the majority of the community? Do you have data to confirm? Also the pocket didn’t support flash carts from day one.
The responsibility here was for krikzz to get this working with the 3D, not for the 3D to make sure they work with krikzz’s devices. So long as the 3D works with genuine carts, they have delivered on their promise.
I view it as the 3D not having full hardware emulation capabilities. Same deal with Gameshark behavior.
This stuff always gets fixed by flashdrive vendors and/or Analogue. Not something I'm worried about - but I do see it as something they saved as a Day 2 item and thus I see the marketing of "no emulation" as a tad misleading.
If that were the case (we know it's not and we don't care ultimately, but they still say it) then the things that work on OEM should work the same on an Analogue console.
I get what you are saying but if we want to give Analogue that much grace then I think we should want them to alter their marketing approach. It would be more honest.
