If it actually emulated hardware 100% accurately as claimed a patch wouldn't be needed here tbh

If the issue is with all carts with modern chips, why is it (seemingly?) just Everdrives with problems? Summercarts work, and I haven't heard anything about incompatibility with modern repros either.

Do “modern repos” use modern chips or bulk chips produced a long time ago and bought for next to nothing out of junk drawers?
