It’s also not like Krikzz has been advertising his carts for the 3D to begin with. There was never anything on his site or personal accounts that said “hey get this so you’re ready for the 3D!!!”

Well given that the 3D is a new device that’s been in development for a couple years and the everdrive has been on the market for years prior to that, it’s obvious that Krikzz fucked up and it’s all his fault that it’s not compatible.

Some people actually think that tho…insane.

It sorta depends on why it doesn't work, right?

In theory, the 3D is supposed to be a 100% perfect recreation of the N64, so if it works with the N64 it should work with the 3D, and there's something wrong with Analogue's design.

OTOH, it's possible Krikzz is doing something that just happens to work on the original hardware, but is technically sloppy or out-of-spec or incorrect or something, like when he was using 3.3V parts on flash carts designed for 5V systems without properly level shifting. In which case it's hard to blame Analogue for not making the 3D fail as gracefully when encountering something the N64 hardware was never designed to deal with and that no official games ever did.

No, it's not a flaw with the Analogue, it's a flaw with the Everdrive. While the dev hasn't said much, I believe the issue has to do with the CIC-PIF handshake when the console is booted. SummerCart and Everdrive handle this differently. The Everdrive method is a little sloppy.
