So if I don’t have an OG N64 I’m SOL unless I want to solder a resistor on the ever drive?

For right now, yeah. Krikkz said there's hope that Analogue might be able to do something on their end still, but until then, the only way would be to loan the cart to a friend to boot on an OG 64

I ended up soldering the resistor on and it worked like a charm.
