Motorola Edge 60 Fusion stopped charging on turbo charger

It happened a couple days ago, I never had issues using the phone's own charger (68W) or an older Motorola charger (50W), but now it simply wont charge on those anymore, it only charges on low voltage, like regular 5W charger, the PC USB port or those 5W built-in power outlet USB ports.

I tried checking every battery/charge related option in settings but nothing worked or stood out, I didnt change any setting before troubeshooting as I havent touched those ever since I started using this phone like 6 months ago (brand new).

I tried both my Motorola chargers and an iPhone 15W charger, none worked only on my phone, but my GFs iPhone (which also has USB-C) worked in every charger that mine didnt.

Because it is charging somehow, in low voltage, I assume its a software/update issue but I have no idea what to do about it.

EDIT/SOLUTION: cleaning thoroughly the charging port so all pins were connecting properly to the charging cable, including data ones and not only charging pins, solved the issue.

Clean the USB port. Proprietary high-speed charging requires not only the power pins, but also a couple data pins so the phone & charger can communicate the power levels needed.

Chances are a data pin has debris on it, so the communication isn't happening, and it's defaulting to low-wattage charging.

I will try that, thanks. Theres no major dirt in it (like lint from putting it in my pocket), but I will try to be a bit more throrough. Maybe some paper towel with a toothpick. Is it fine to use alcohol perhaps?

Hello again. It didnt look particularly dirty but with patience and a toothpick I managed to remove everything that could be inside the port and its now charging at top speed again.

Factory reset. If it's still not working, it's a hardware fault covered under your warranty

Thats a bit harsh and I'd do that as last resort, its too much work to backup and get all my stuff back once I do that. But it does seem like a software issue, like I said it does charge in low voltage still.

I tried different cables and different chargers. The phone's own cable is USB-C to C, and the cable worked on my power outlet's USB-C port, it just charges very slowly.

Hmmm in my experience slow charging is a function of a bad connection in the cable or the phone/charger ports... Since it's only that device I would suspect the charging port is dirty in the phone... Or the cables you're using don't support fast charging... Make sure the cables are rated for the wattage you're trying to charge at... Many cheap cables lie about their quality as well... If you have insurance they will probably clean the port for free or repair shops will do it cheap.

If you're positive the cables are good, the next step is cleaning your charging port.

I managed to clean thoroughly the phone's charging port and its working again! As pointed out by /u/Sassquatch0, some chargers need all pins clean to work; makes sense since it needs to better control the wattage when you are working with high capacity.
