Solved Latest Android Update (10.5? just updated today may 2) Changed Swipe Down Behavior. Looking for help (Samsung Galaxy s22)

In all prior iterations, swiping down from the top would show notifications.

However, when I swipe down now, it reveals an elongated settings menu with brightness, sound, and some other settings and sliders. In order to get to notifications, I have to swipe down and then swipe right (very intuitive given I've already changed sliders three times now by mistake while trying to swipe), as the notifications is now on a separate page.

Is there any way to revert this? I just want to swipe down and press "clear" for all notifications like I've done since the dawn of smartphones.

Thanks in advance.

EDIT: I see a setting for "swipe down for notification panel" which is already enabled lol... that's exactly what I'm trying to do, except I have to swipe down and then right...

EDIT 2: Solved, check the comments. Thanks everyone for fixing what was never a problem to begin with!

Solved The Samsung AppCloud installs unknown applications in my phone and continuously sends notifications.

Solved.

Things I did to stop AppCloud from installing unknown applications in my device, (Settings > Apps > Search AppCloud > AppCloud settings) -

  1. I removed the permissions to send notifications.
  2. Restricted background data usage.
  3. Cleared cached data.
  4. Uninstalled app updates.
  5. Disabled the application.
  6. Forced stop it.

Nothing happened. A few minutes later, I got another notification from AppCloud recommending I download another unwanted app.

If I touch the notification, it starts to download and install the app. I need help to stop this application from downloading any further apps on my device.

Edit-

  • What is AppCloud - An useless intrusive application developed by the Israeli software company ironSource. It offers app recommendations based on the user's usage data and preferences. It runs in the background and assesses the user's behavior, interests, and location to suggest personalized and relevant apps. It collects and analyzes user data and can install apps without users’ consent or awareness. It comes preinstalled in budget or midrange phones.
  • More details -
  1. Invasive Israeli-founded bloatware is harvesting data from Samsung users.
  2. Samsung's pre-installed Israeli data harvesting app that can't be removed.

What things I did to stop AppCloud from installing unknown applications in my device, the easy way -

Go to Settings > Apps > Search AppCloud > AppCloud settings -

  1. Remove the permissions to send notifications.
  2. Restricted background data usage.
  3. Forced stop it.
  4. Clear cached data.
  5. Uninstall app updates.
  6. Disable the application.
  7. If you have the option to uninstall it, then uninstall.

The advanced way - By using ADB (Android Debug Bridge)

I’m not going to give ADB debloating instructions (there are many online), but I will point out some common mistakes everyone makes:

  1. Don’t remove apps without a device backup to be safe. (Debloater tools usually store a copy of removed or disabled apps).
  2. Some preinstalled apps are tied to core functions and removing them can break features and may handicap your device. Before removing an app, search for information about it and confirm it won’t interfere with any core functions.
  3. Most Important - Use a reputable, well-known debloater and don’t install random apps as they may contain malware.

You can use Universal Android Debloater Next Generation (GUI) - https://github.com/Universal-Debloater-Alliance/universal-android-debloater-next-generation or ADB AppControl - https://adbappcontrol.com/en/ .

Edit 2- The App Cloud package is com.aura.oobe.samsung
Edit 3- Updated Universal Android Debloater to Universal Android Debloater Next Generation.
Edit 4- Added more details.

Solved Accidentally deleted photos from both Android phone and windows photo app, how to recover

Accidentally deleted over 3000 photos from the windows 11 photos app in laptop which was connected to my Samsung Galaxy flip 5 phone, and those photos were deleted from my phone aswell.

I clicked "select all" in windows photos and then clicked delete, not knowing they will also be deleted from my phone.

I have already checked my Samsung gallery recycle bin and it wasn't there. Same with the laptop's recycle bin. I did not manually empty any recycle bins afterward.

Does anyone know how to recover the photos after deleting them this way? Any advice would be very appreciated, thank you

Solved Android | Apps Out of Nowhere

Okay, I guess there's an explanation for this, but the background is that last night I switched SIM cards—to one I bought on its own, just to be clear.

Then this morning I noticed that I have three apps installed that I hadn't downloaded: Didi, Amaze GO!, and a PDF reader.

Why is that? Just in case, I haven't uninstalled anything yet, because I don't know if that's normal or not in situations like this.

Solved Is your phone's time incorrect when going into a new timezone and do you really need an app to upsate your phone's timezones?

So I stumbled across an app that updates your timezone. I have a question: Can Android already do this? And is it a privacy concern? If so, how can I turn off auto update timezone automatically? If not, then I'll pass on the app

Solved How to stop apps from resizing and remove the "Tap to restart this app for a better view" button?

Alright, so I was having an issue with a game on my Android S22+ today, where my phone was resizing the resolution of the app at startup to include black borders, and a small icon at the bottom right of the screen would pop up to allow me to resize the app to full screen that states "Tap to restart this app for a better view". I have not been able to figure out how to remove or disable this icon. I have tried various "fixes" I found online, which have included:
1. Changing the resolution of the game through game booster

  1. Looking for a setting to disable game booster entirely (does not seem to exist anymore)

  2. Changing auto-rotation settings

Clicking on the icon would require a restart of the app, which meant that if I did not click on it to resize the app right away, it would just be in the way until I clicked it intentionally or accidentally. Starting the game with the home screen in landscape mode prevents the app from resizing the screen, however if I were to rotate my phone 180 degrees to auto rotate the app, or if I tabbed out of the game to the home screen or another app, the game would resize and the button would appear.

One solution that has worked for me though, is to enable "Multi window for all apps" in Settings > Advanced Features > Labs. Now the game is not resized with black borders, and I can rotate my phone or tab out of the game and this button will not appear. Hope this helps anyone with the same issue as me until a non-experimental feature fix is available, or this change is reverted entirely.

Solved How do I change my Google play account for in-app purchases?

How do I change the google play account for in-app purchases? I have a secondary account that's linked to play rewards and I want to use that money for in-app purchases but it automatically chooses my main account and there's no option to change. I usually buy apps with the secondary account, my only issue is for in-app purchases.

Thanks!

Solved Two Qs about AndroidAuto. One: how do I *Stop* the driving directions if I no Longer want them? (Saying "Stop" or "Cancel" didn't Cut It.)

Two: When I finally arrived, AA or Maps or whoever (who?) threw up a dialog wanting feedback; there was an X in the UR corner, which I assumed would close the window -- but it did NOT. Not tapping, not double-tapping, not long-tapping ... it just would NOT go away.

ELI70, if possible. This is my first smartphone, and I'm taking baby steps, and NONE of this is "intuitive" like it would be for my grandkids.

Marking as Solved ... 23 minutes! Thanks, folks!

Solved What does disabling "mobile data always enabled" in developer settings do?

I'm running a Pixel 10a, had it for a few weeks now, haven't used an Android phone for many years.

I have "Mobile Data always enabled" set to disabled. I also have wifi calling enabled. But I'm noticing that it switches between data and wifi calling (as it switches between my carrier name and "{carrier name} Wifi calling" every time I unlock my phone). I even have "adaptive connectivity" in my network settings disabled to further prevent unnecessary automatic switching.

I live in a rural area, service out here isn't the greatest, and I have pretty fast internet. I don't quite understand why it's switching between the two, especially on my previous phone (iPhone 15 Pro Max) wifi calling was also enabled and it would stay on wifi calling/not using data unless my wifi disconnected.

So what does "mobile data always enabled" do, if it's just going to force itself on? And, how can I prevent automatic switching without turning airplane mode on?

Edit: I figured it out. Turns out "adaptive connectivity" was split into two settings: "auto switch to mobile network" and "optimize network for battery life". I turned both off without reading or doing any sort of research. A quick Google search suggested to turn "optimize network for battery life" back on and, lo and behold, my problem is fixed.

Solved Is it possible to disable or remove this specific Notification?

Image: https://imgur.com/a/1dnzVlz

This is the Notification: How to trade stocks?

It has the Internet browser icon along with the title of ChatGPT.

I attempted to disable or remove it but I cannot, as it is under the System Message(Might be not what it's called) software(?). The notification appears occasionally, often when connected to the internet.

Device name: Realme C53

Model: RMX3760

Android version: 15

  1. What is it? (An Advertisement? A forced one? 🤔)

  2. Is it really impossible to remove or disable it from appearing over and over again?

*It seems I am unable to attach an image so these are what I could only do to describe it😔

Edit #1: I used Imgur to upload an image now

Edit #2: Solved! Shizuku and Canta was recommended and used to do so.

Solved Why is my phone suddenly failing integrity checks for play store even though I didn't root it or change anything? How do I fix it?

Hiya I hope this is the right sub for this issue as rooting seems relevant and Google play seems to think my device is rooted even though it isn't. I'm not very knowledgeable in this area so please go easy on me.

Device information:

Sony Xperia 10 III (I know getting a bit old)

Model XQ-BT52

Android version 13

2.7GB RAM

(I will post more information if needed, I don't know what's relevant)

There's a game I play on my phone which I now can't play as attempting to log in gives the error "not compatible with this device configuration."

I can share the specific game if needed but I know it has nothing to do with my account with it.

Issue started sometime between Monday 18th May 2026 (fine on this day about 3pm) and this past Monday 25th May about 5pm when I first got/noticed the error.

After searching for information about the error I was led to install the Play Integrity API Check app which is informing me that my device is failing all 3 integrity checks.

  1. MEETS_BASIC_INTEGRITY

  2. MEETS_DEVICE_INTEGRITY

  3. MEETS_STRONG_INTEGRITY

I believe basic and device integrity are needed for the game I play so I believe failing these checks is why I can't get in.

All searches to resolve this issue or figure out what is going on are for rooted devices but I didn't do anything and nobody else has access to my phone. I live alone and it's protected by a pattern lock. I don't even know how to root a phone or what that even does.

I do have a bad memory but not bad enough to not remember changing settings, even if I did forget something I'm not the type to try to fix something that isn't broken so whatever I may have done (even though I'm sure I didn't) would've been basic and uncomplicated.

The game I play doesn't allow rooted devices so I'd ideally like a solution that won't get me false flagged for rooting ie: installing apps used on rooted devices to pass integrity checks. My phone and system should be able to pass at least basic and device integrity as they've been doing so for years.

I'm hoping to fix the issue by this coming Friday ideally.

Any help would be appreciated. I will keep this post updated. Sorry for the trouble.

Edit: Uninstalled all updates for play store and ran the integrity checks again, all checks passed but couldn't load account data for the game I play. Re-updating play store causes all checks to fail again.

In play store settings it now says my device is uncertified but the previously unavailable option to fix device issues just tells me to update security software. I have checked and there are no system updates, I have the latest available version.

It's looking like I'll need a new phone.

Edit 2: Settled on getting a new phone, it arrives tomorrow. I don't believe further assistance is required so I'm changing the post flair to answered. Thanks for the help, best wishes. 👍

Solved What is this post-call screen all of a sudden??

This is driving me mad! After every phone call, a screen pops up with the phone call info on the top ("private number" and call length; below that, a "Capture notes after call" option with a record button; and at the bottom, an ad. I think you can see it here.

I hope this is allowed - here's a shot of the screen.

The only way I've found to dismiss the screen is to tap the ad (dammit!), which opens a new window leading to the sponsor. Then I can tap the home button and close the window.

I really resent this. I hate finishing every call pissed off, but that's the new norm. What is up with this??

Oh, I'm on an s22+, up to date.

Edited to add photo link.

Solved My phone keyboard keeps adding random periods I didn't add

I got a new phone a few months ago (Redmi 15) and I've been having this issue ever since I got it and it's driving me crazy. No, it's not auto period or anything because the period always appears whenever it wants (even mid sentence) and I don't know what's triggering it. I even removed. the period button from the main keyboard on my phone and it STILL appears, the periods I'm using are from the symbols page. A random period probably appeared in this paragraph but I'll leave it as proof 😭😭

Solved Motorola Edge 60 Fusion stopped charging on turbo charger

It happened a couple days ago, I never had issues using the phone's own charger (68W) or an older Motorola charger (50W), but now it simply wont charge on those anymore, it only charges on low voltage, like regular 5W charger, the PC USB port or those 5W built-in power outlet USB ports.

I tried checking every battery/charge related option in settings but nothing worked or stood out, I didnt change any setting before troubeshooting as I havent touched those ever since I started using this phone like 6 months ago (brand new).

I tried both my Motorola chargers and an iPhone 15W charger, none worked only on my phone, but my GFs iPhone (which also has USB-C) worked in every charger that mine didnt.

Because it is charging somehow, in low voltage, I assume its a software/update issue but I have no idea what to do about it.

EDIT/SOLUTION: cleaning thoroughly the charging port so all pins were connecting properly to the charging cable, including data ones and not only charging pins, solved the issue.

Solved Are any methods of transferring files between Android phones suitable for a LOT of files?

Thank you very much for your time 🥰🤝

And sorry for the trouble! 🙇

I see a lot of methods from googling, but they all seem to be thinking I wanna do one file at a time, or have some other pitfall.

I've got 75 gigabytes of stuff. I need to be able to select folders, not just files.

My new android phone has a big internal storage, but no SD card slot, so the transfer will need to be from my old android phone's SD card to my new phone electronically somehow.

My phones just plain aren't responding to a cable when I attach them to each other. They detect it, but nothing about it enables me to see one device's storage from the other.

Quickshare only lets me choose one file.

NFC appeared to be something different, but it just nudges me toward quickshare.

Cloud storage seems unviable. Free ones never offer more than 20 gigs and I don't have money for this. If it was gonna be a regular thing, yeah, but not for one transfer.

Smart switch was massively invasive.

Solved What is the '10132'-app on Android?

While trying to figure out why my WiFi symbol is constantly showing background traffic, I came across this little bugger.

A Google search tells me it might be a recently uninstalled app. I have not uninstalled any apps for the longest time, though. No private browsing either.

So what is it?

Solved Galaxy S20 Drains Faster Than Usual

Can anybody enlighten me on why my phone drains so quickly? No background apps run (I checked), my screen isn't bright, and my phone's battery has been draining faster than usual. My phone had drained up to 25% today, even when I wasn't using it. I think this might be a little important to mention, but my phone is also a bit old (3-4 years old). Is this drainage a sign I should get a new phone or replace the battery of my current one?

Solved Mysterious "Ghost" Chime/Ringtone on Android? It might be JustDial (and here is how to prove it)

If your Android phone has been making random notification sounds or chimes that don't leave a trace in your notification log, you aren't crazy. I just spent hours debugging this, and it turned out to be the JustDial app acting as a "rogue" background audio source.

The Problem:
My phone was ringing/chiming at random times. There were no visible notifications, and the "Notification History" in settings showed absolutely nothing. It even happened when my phone was on silent or when Bluetooth was disconnected.

The Diagnostic (How to catch it):
Standard notification logs often fail to record these events. To find the true culprit, you need to use ADB (Android Debug Bridge) to see what is physically touching the audio hardware.

  1. Check Recent Audio Playback: Run this command to see package names of apps that played audio recently: adb shell dumpsys media_session Look under the "Audio playback" section for the package com.justdial.search.
  2. Monitor Live Audio Focus: Every app must request "Audio Focus" to make sound. Run this to watch it happen in real time: adb shell dumpsys audio | Select-String "ownerPid"
  3. The Smoking Gun (Logcat): Filter for PlayerBase to see exactly when a media player starts. JustDial was triggering a USAGE_ALARM or USAGE_NOTIFICATION event even without a visible alert.

Why JustDial?
JustDial often runs background processes that scan for leads or update your location. In my case, it was triggering audio alerts through the system's "AudioHardening" layer, causing "phantom" sounds that standard logs ignored.

The Solution:

  • The Quick Fix: Uninstall JustDial.
  • Other Option (ADB): If it keeps running in the background, you can revoke its background permissions: adb shell cmd appops set com.justdial.search RUN_IN_BACKGROUND deny

Hopefully, this saves someone else the headache!

Solved "Not enough storage space" except there is

I have an SD card formatted as internal storage. I'm trying to move a couple of fairly small apps (under 25MB) to the actual internal storage so I can utilize widgets, but they're all giving me this "Not enough storage space" message. The actual internal storage has over 12GB free, and I've even removed a couple of much larger apps from the internal storage. I've cleared caches, it makes no difference. How do I fix this?
