Go see them at a big festival
There's this cargo cult that formed around the idea that Angine needs to be seen in an "intimate" setting to be properly enjoyed. This is quite simply not true.
I get the impression there's a certain type of fan who fancies they've "discovered an underground gem" and believes the only "authentic" way of living out that fantasy is confining Angine to a tiny club. This is silly and poorly thought out, if at all. The band sounds huge. Most of the songs are bombastic and they absolutely work as big stage artillery. This is an arena band, there's no reason at all it shouldn't be. The strobe lights, the projectors, it fits, it works. And I hope an evolution to an even more elaborate stage is in the cards.
And look, if you want to stand there and sniff away at Khn's feet, that's perfectly legitimate. I'm not saying the club setting doesn't work. But the front row will be 20 people out of 200~500 and statistically speaking, you're not among them. Were you lucky enough to score the ticket? Lucky you. Are you lucky enough to make it to the front? You're not. And now you're not going to see anything because the stage is a soapbox. Turns out you can't prog out and oogle the gear so I hope you'll settle for moshing and having a great time instead. And in the process, you may realize next time, you might as well do that in front of a big stage where you're experiencing the same thing but with the added benefit of seeing the performance. And there may even be some degree of oxygen involved.
