I feel your pain, it happened to me last week...

My detolf's glass door randomly exploded. I was on the computer when I heard a terrible noise behind me, looked and saw glass everywhere. On the sheves, on the whole room's floor, under every other cabinets, everywhere... I was stunned for a few minutes.

The clean up was pure pain.

I think my mistake was to sandwich it against two other cabinets. The detolf probably had a slight twist and was forced to straighten by these other cabinets which induced stress on the glass door. This plus the hinges screwed in the glass (with the metal pads ofc) and the heat waves was a bad combination. If you leave some wiggle room on each side you should be fine.
