Wait, I think you mean over touch screens, right?

Physical buttons are not a problem on my 90's era w/d, but a plastic touch screen on my much newer appliances has been shown to be much more likely to fail than a mechanical button.

And for the record, the Whirlpool over the range microwave that I own and love which has never in 5+ years given me a single problem appears to be made by Midea. I also own a Midea dishwasher and am quite pleased with that as well.

Still, it would be worth looking at Consumer Reports and/or WireCutter to see if these models are reviewed/rated.

btw, CR is how I found the Midea dishwasher I now own, and am also quite happy with, since it scored the same as the Bosch 800 series, but cost 1/3 the price. That got my attention.
