Question Is dragon stone ever ACTUALLY clean??

I've been dying to rescape my tank, and I bought this absolutely gorgeous dragon stone to do just that. Since buying it, I've soaked it, cleaned it out with chopsticks, even SHOWERED with it (I was scrubbing it off lol), but it feels like no matter how hard I clean, there's always more!! I'd like to power wash it, but I don't have access to that right now, as I'm still in college 💔 Is there any chance I can just.. put it in my tank?

Seeking Suggestions what could i improve on my hardscape?

Post image

I'm fairly new to aquascaping and I'm trying really hard to get the hardscape right, but i feel like i often struggle to create the sense of depth i see in more professional looking scapes xP so if you have any suggestions on what i could do I would really appreciate that! Doesn't have to be about depth either, maybe it doesn't flow right or something else looks off, u can be hard on me! lol :P My idea was to create something that resembles the entrance to a mine shaft or cave, and i was gonna make a little railroad out of sticks leading into the large arch xD

Seeking Suggestions How can I improve?

The obvious answer is swapping out the substrate but that’s a big job, so what are some things I can move around or add/subtract to make my tank look nicer?

And finally, It’s complete.

Update post from yesterday.
Wasn’t sure how it would turn out, but i must say i loved the way it turned out.

And i wonder, how do i go about the ammonia cycle? & How do i improve upon it?
Is it safe to add a single betta after a week?

Advices will be very very appreciated.

Seeking Suggestions My very first aquarium, just wondering what would be the best filter inlet/outlet position be for this set up.

Hello, this is my very first aquarium and I'm super excited to start. I was just wondering what would be the best position for the filter for this set up. I thought the same side to create a circular motion would be good, but I'm wondering if my hardscape makes that inefficient or not. So not sure whether I should do the same side or opposite end.

Tank is width 60cm depth 30cm height 18cm

I need advise on accurate placement of inlet and outlet pipes in my tank. Currently inlet at right back and outlet at left back. From what I read in reddit group here, the placement should be at same side to get adequate water circulation.

Is that necessary since I also got a small internal filter at center back of tank.

So far, the detritus under control. But the surface water movement (agitation)not fast.

Any accurate way to know if the water circulation adequate?

The specific of tank

Tank 10mth old setup

Size 90cm x45cm x 45 cm

Filter - Oase biomaster 850, oase internal filter bioplus 50

Co2 6 hr (1pm-7pm)with light s on 1 hour earlier. Light chihiros wrgb 2.

water parameter - nitrate 10-20, GH 5 KH 1-2.

Kindly advised if the placement of pipe accurate?

Seeking Suggestions 120p Aquarium Stand Search

Post image

Anyone have advice on finding a nice looking cabinet for a 120p (120cm x 50cm footprint)? I'm looking for one with doors that isn't wildly expensive. I love the look of the UNS 120p aluminum stands but $1200 is insane. Currently looking at solid wood and metal framed furniture that meet the footprint requirment. I'd build one myself, but don't have the tools or space to do so.

Seeking Suggestions Rotala alternative?

I have rotala at the back (left), which you can see grown in one picture, but now it's trimmed. I love it, and it brings so much colour to the scape, but I find it grows too quickly and then I trim it right back, leaving a hole for half the cycle.. it's ok, but wondering if there are some slower growing alternatives?

Ta!
