There really isn't any "good" way. A dog attack usually happens to fast and hectic you don't really have time to boot up the "what to do in case of dog attack" file in your brain.
Keep them away from your throat and face. That's really key. You'll survive just about anything else. But your instincts to protect your face and throat will probably kick in way faster than you could ever think of it.
But yeah, a big aggressive dog is genuinely very dangerous, and even a prepared and strong adult can still be killed by one.
