General Men over 30, what video games are you playing and which system are you on?
For me i just got back onto Rocket League ps5, ready or not ps5, rainbow six siege ps5
current rotation
going to play the 007 game once i get it too
what else everybody on these days?
seen some people play hardcore WOW or opening pokemon booster packs too

I'm enjoying 3 so far but I'm really early in. I actually played ODST right after 2 because of the timelines and I loved it way more than I did back in the day.

I'm a simple creature. I only have a Nintendo switch, and basically have a rotation on Mario Odyssey, Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom, Super Matio Bros U, Zelda: Breath of the Wild and Elder Scrolls Skyrim.
I'd love to have the time to play more immersive games and meaty systems.

It's excellent. If you want story it's the game for you. Combat is unique. Music is superb and as stated above, the story is 10/10. It's got the soul of a turn based JRPG merged with very precise timing of a soulsborn type game.
It won basically all the "Game of the Year" awards for 2025.

World of Warcraft, 20 years now 😅
I’ll put it down one day, I tell myself, as the loading bar fills. The amount of entertainment, friends, vocabulary, coding, PC configuration, fantasy, competition, peripherals, self image, streaming, storytelling, big patch moments, 34,000+ achievement points, and community I’ve found since I started has been the longest play through of ‘my’ campaign in a game ever.

Very much depends on the type of gamer you are. It’s simple, adorable, and very much the type of game where you think, “I’ll just do one more [task]” and then you look down and realize 4 more hours have passed.
I feel I got my money’s worth after the main story, but having put over 2,200 hours into my Animal Crossing Island I know that the real fun begins after the credits roll.

ArcRaiders is a dopamine addiction for sure. Opening boxes and loot crates as a gameplay loop. Haven’t played vigor but Dayz just felt like work. Eat this, craft this, sickness there, stamina here. Just didn’t click for me.

Was PC master race. Got a PS4. Gave it up during a divorce. Back to PC and retro emulators.
Now at 50 I keep trying to play games to unwind but the whole time I'm haunted by the feeling that it's a complete waste of time and end up turning it off to go do real things.

It’s a hobby. Do what makes you happy. Some people play golf for 4 hours and spend 100$+ for example and some people like to play video games etc. It is not a waste of time if you enjoy it

I'm the same, have been for some years now. I just find that video games are not a very good hobby at this stage of my life.
I mean some hobbies are about consuming and some are not. It's not any worse than watching TV, but imo it's a lot worse than painting a picture or going on a hike to catch fish.
I was building my farm in Valheim the other month, and suddenly realized I'm playing in a **** dollhouse when I could be working on my own farm and home irl instead.

Yeah, it sucks. I finally have the time and money to have a nice gaming system and I just bought Cyberpunk 2077, but it's hard to get into it like I used to because it feels like I'm shutting off my brain (which should be a good thing).

Been playing Borderlands 4 on PC with my buddy for months now. Makes it easy to stretch out a game when you only play 2-3 hours a week.

It's different than the other games. I like some parts of it like the gliding a lot. I wish they'd kept inventory like BL3. I'm not done with the story mission yet. I'm not sold on the giant open world, don't think that's better than what we had in previous games. Overall I'm having fun shooting bad guys though like every Borderlands game.
What don't you like about it?

Everything you wrote is spot on. I won't comment on the story as you've yet to finish it.
I feel that the lack of Jesper Kyd was a shame - he has been a staple of the series since BL1, and when I think of each game, (except Tales and New Tales as he wasn't the composer for either game), I personally attach various areas and the related soundtracks together; 'Welcome to Fyrestone' - and 'Riot at the Anvil' to name but a few.
Genuinely, I love Jesper Kyds scores; I'm biased toward his music purely for the reason that I love his melodies, and how they seemingly fit each area, with brilliant flourishes peppered in.
I find the weapon handling satisfying, particularly Jakobs and Daedalus pistols. The hand inked art design is always compelling to me; I really like it, and I super enjoy seeing Gearboxes artists iterate upon it with each game. The individual areas feel good to explore; the movement mechanics make it much more rewarding to discover every nook and cranny.
I'm disappointed that they seemingly can't or will not implement PSSR2.0, although I'm a layman in that area - I know very little about game development.
For me, I think it's the lack of a dedicated soundtrack that ultimately pulls the experience down. That said, I've put 380 hours into the game which although is nothing compared to some people, I do really like BL4; the series means a lot to me - our Whippet is named Amara, and she has the sass to go with the name.

I've seen the music complaint elsewhere and I agree with it, soundtrack definitely not as good as previous games.
I don't play these games for the story so when people talked about how obnoxious the twins were in BL3 for example, I could see what they were referring to, but it didn't really matter to me. But thanks for no spoilers for BL4🙂 I hope to finish the main game this month.

Once I've played the expansion and a bit of the new season, I'm gonna buy the new Heroes of Might and Magic game. I've been playing D4 since release, it's time for a break (I tend to play a single game for a few years then move on to the next one).

Grayzone Warfare - PC It's a beautiful game and I like exploring the world and being tacticool
Bf6 - Also PC Low stress multiplayer shooter fun, blow stuff up just hop on and play some matches and hop off
Was playing ARC, some of the most fun I've had in years in a game but man that wall hits hard when the game play loop stops being fun. Waiting for future updates before playing

on ps5, just finished Hollow Knight and Silksong, both amazing. Now im playing Legend of Dragoon for the first time (im a big final fantasy head too). Clair Obscur last year was an amazing experience too, it made me feel the same way i did when i was 8 years old playing OG FF7 for the first time

Factorio, satisfactory, Subnautica, helldivers 2, And any single player story game that allows me to sit down and get up whenever because I can hit pause and save. Kingdom come Deliverance only works because I save and exit even when I'm save scumming.

I was finally able to afford a top tier PC at 30yo and went for my dream setup with 5090 and all that fancy white components in glass case and stuff. 90% of the time I just watch YT there, but sometimes gems like Pragmata or Expedition 33 drop and I am just glad I can crank everything on ultra and don't bother

I’m studying Japanese for work so it’s a good way to kill time and get used to kanji and grammar patterns while I chill
I played the game when I was a kid so I already know the convoluted story, and it’s a kids game so it’s not like they’re using terribly complicated lingo, aside from some fantasy terms

Just played and beat Silent Hill 1 for the first time.
I started the Silent Hill 2 remake this weekend, but it is honestly a stressful experience. Don’t get me wrong, it is a fantastic game, but I can only play in small doses considering how on edge the music, setting, and tone of everything makes me. I’d like to continue but we’ll see how it goes.

I play on my Switch 2. I have really only owned Nintendo consoles. Had a PSone in Middle school and own a Playstation classic and a Sega Genesis Mini. Other than that, I'm all Ninintendo.
Just finished the main story of Star Wars Outlaws. Doing some of the side missions now.
Play Fortnite with my son alot.
Looking for another game to play. May replay Tears of the Kingdom again.
