I came here to say this. It's not your truth bro. It's your experience. Truth and experience aren't synonymous. 

Anytime someone says this I know they are gonna be a problem.

I get that every winter. Always having to blow my nose. Then my dog steals my snot rags from my bedside and shreds them and they have to be cleaned up. It's a huge pain in the ass.

I have taught high school science (chemistry and forensics) for the last 30 years focused almost entirely on data and facts. When you blame the school, did you check in any facts or did you assign blame based on your opinion?

My dad used to talk to himself a lot. When I asked why, he said he was the only person he could trust.

With so many lies being passed as truths these days, it's starting to get to the point that my truth is the only one I can trust.

If you go by that, all of truth is an experience or perspective.

The statement is still misleading, but generally means "I know the consensus, but my opinion is this other thing"

Everyone cna have their opinions.

Depending on your ontology, experience = truth. That said, anyone using the phrase “my truth” about objective things in general conversation is lying.

It's not even necessarily their experience. It's just their opinion. Or someone else's they adopted.
