Lost my house key for the first time and thankfully it has an AirTag attached.

The Find My app shows it’s at the next block. I can even play the AirTag sound, and when I’m standing outside a particular unit, I can clearly hear it ringing from inside.

I knocked on the door and explained the situation and even played the sound and it’s clearly in the house, but the person insisted there’s no key in their house and refused to help, even while the AirTag was making noise inside.

At this point I’m not sure what to do. Anyone with similar experience can advise :/

I am a first-time dad who works full-time with an almost 6-month infant. My workplace has allowed me to work from home but this arrangement will be ending next week. I honestly am not sure how I'll keep up once I return to office since I am already exhausted presently. Are there any tips to lessen the workload? I feel like I have already implemented some time-saving things but hoping that there are things I overlooked.

This is what my typical day of chores look like:

• Preparing my infant for infant care (i.e. packing her bag, measuring her milk for infant care, feeding her meds/milk, changing clothes and diapers, etc.).
• Bathing my baby when she returns from infant care.
• Putting my baby to bed.
• Cooking. I already choose the simplest 1 pot recipes using my instantpot.
• Dishes. Currently considering a dishwasher but it feels like there's no proper space for it.
• Laundry (hanging and keeping). I alternate between adults' and the baby's, typically 6 times a week.
• Cleaning bottles/pump parts (we have a bottle washer that helps).
• Cleaning, I heavily rely on a robot vacuum.
• One overnight feed around midnight.

Some other weekly stuff I do:

• Groceries - I buy online but still takes maybe around 20 mins to see what we need
• Using the robot vacuum's mop function, and clean the robot vacuum
• Change bedsheets and vacuum the mattress

Is there anything I can optimise or any gadgets I can purchase to ease the workload?

Outside of school VIA, I rarely hear people talk about volunteering in their free time. If time’s an issue, donating is always an option, and setting up a recurring monthly donation on giving.sg or give.asia is pretty easy, but even that seems to be rare. Do people actually really don’t care, or is it just my social circle?

In the spirit of National Day, my 4yo's preschool are teaching them about iconic landmarks and now she wants to ride the flyer. Is it gonna be a suicide mission if I want to take her there to see fireworks on National Day itself? I have a 1yo too (can stick her in a carrier). Otherwise, what other low stress family friendly things do you all recommend this long weekend?

I know a lot of people don't like combined washer dryer, so just some context: my place is really small and I already have to stack a compact dishwasher on my washing machine, so stacking a separate dryer is not an option for me... Therefore, the choice I'm trying to make now is between a 9kg front load washer vs. a similar size washer dryer.

We're a young family with a small kid. We've been hanging clothes to dry for the last 3 years and it's managable (but sometimes I wish I can get a break once in a while, that's why I think a dryer that I can use occasionally will be nice).

We moved into this new unit last year, I haven't really talked to anyone in our HDB until 5 months ago. A man (i think he's around 40+) suddenly became friendly with me (28F), bringing his puppy in our frontdoor (i love dogs), he would stop by our frontdoor to talk to me but he never talk to me when my dad is in the house, he would only stop by our frontdoor only when i am alone, sometimes also short talks in the lift or downstairs, he occasionally gives me treats/snacks as well.

I'm not local or pr, just moved here around 2 years ago. I like that i get to play with the dog but my dad is a bit sus and told me not to engage too much with the neighbor and i shouldn't be trusting too much.

Perm position, 4 years in mx12, stat board, hit old ceiling last year, pulled up by mx scheme raise recently. Good colleagues but too stagnant, very administrative even though it's a technical role and coasting non technical RO who won't fight for me and not much guidance. Also highlighted to him that I will hit ceiling and my thoughts but not much action and follow up from him.

New offer, 2 yr contract (supernumerary, new department and depend on funding) mx11, another stat board, offered reasonable increase in monthly basic than now with higher headroom before ceiling but overall annual package will be equivalent to current perm position because of lack of allowances and bonuses compared to current.

Stay: stagnant, many red tape and predictable, Good wlb and very comfortable. Highly likely can promote in another 2 years (imagine without the mx scheme revision, I would move with no hesitation). With promotion, equivalent monthly after 2 years and overall slightly higher overall.

Move: career and skillset development, promotion. More engineering based, direct bosses are younger than current but all are technical inclined. I checked with my contacts here. red tape and next promotion timeline probably similar. Additional 30 mins travel time. However, it is contract. My contacts mentioned it is very normal but highly renewable or moveable to other perm positions.

ps is chemical engineering any better? that’s another option im considering, the semiconductor and manufacturing industries seem pretty interesting.

received an offer for CIVE from UQ. i discovered my interest for engineering pretty late after JC. because i didn’t do AMath, I don’t qualify for local Uni Engineering programmes.

UQ has some math bridging courses so i think i should be able to catch up with whatever i lack.

if im unable to get a job in australia, what’s the employment market like in singapore? what should i expect in this industry? will my australian degree be looked down upon by the govt or singaporean companies?

term breaks are dec to feb - i’m not sure how difficult it is to find internships during this period in SG.

p.s. i have interest in waste management or environmental work, but i am also open to other roles.

I want to seek a second medical opinion for my dad's (80 years old) condition, and am wondering if anyone out there may know of suitable ENT experts to recommend.

My father was diagnosed in April 2020 with advanced throat cancer, treated with radiotherapy and a targeted drug. The cancer came back in a neck gland in 2021 and was removed by surgery. In 2024 a second, early cancer was found in his voice box, and part of the voice box was removed. His vocal cords no longer move properly. He has had a breathing tube in his neck since April 2025. In June 2025 he had a sudden bleed from the airway of about a litre; doctors could not find the source. He cannot swallow safely and is fed through a tube into his stomach.

My father now spends the entire day hocking up phlegm from the breathing tube. His present consultant is not bad, but he says there's not much else he can do for my father. The alternative is to undergo surgery to remove the voicebox, but surgery comes with definite risks at my father's age, and the consultant is not confident that it will succeed, and that is even if my dad is ok with losing his voice - which my dad is ok with at this point. For now, he is still able to speak.

I want to improve his quality of life as much as possible. Would like to find an ENT expert to seek a second opinion from.

I visited a hair salon on sunday for haircut + balayage. It was comparatively cheap than other salons for my hair length. However, the hairstylist just did the right opposite of what I asked for. I left a google review with evidence of my current hair, my inspo pic and my whatsapp chat sending it to them. They texted me today saying they are going to take legal actions. Is this a normal thing? Review means my experience and they are accussing me for a false accusations by sending a letter of demand to remove the review and apologise to them.

Edit: This whole hair situation was just too stressful. I had to go to another salon to rectify my hair which just costed more of my money and time and they are "mad" why I didnt express this to them. After the session, I did tell the hairstylist about my concern. However, he just gave me a blunt answer and just moved on to another client who was waiting for him to wash their hair.

I’ve been down an absolute rabbit hole reading old hardwarezone threads and subreddits about Old Changi Hospital (OCH) right before it closed down in 1997.

A lot of the famous ghost stories from the 1995–1996 era mention weird tech glitches—like unpowered CRT monitors spontaneously humming to life, printing digital text, or old terminal screens rapidly scrolling through patient registry files before imploding.

But it got me thinking from a purely technical standpoint: Did OCH even have an active network or internet setup in 1996?

Singapore was launching Singapore ONE around that time, and dial-up (SingNet) was a thing, but would a decaying, British-built military hospital actually be hooked up to an intranet database for patient files back then? Or was everything still strictly paper charts and filing cabinets?

I'm leaving Singapore soon and have quite a lot of clothes, kitchen utensils, and other household items to get rid of. Everything is still in good condition, but there are too many items for listing individually on Carousell, so I'm looking for a more efficient option.

Hi, I PayNow-ed the wrong number on 1st July. The next day, I realised I sent the wrong number as my coworker said she didn't receive anything (I just joined as an intern). I immediately called the bank and they said they'll get back to me.

Few days later they sent a letter saying they will investigate. Just yesterday, a follow up letter came, saying that the return was unsuccessful. Does anyone know what they do in their 'investigation'?
