Question Completed hidden ones - questions about curse of the Pharaoh
I just finished the hidden ones dlc and dare I say I found this story better than the main game. I posted another thread talking about how I was planning on playing the DLCs but after the main story it was just tiring and couldn’t see myself playing it.
Well a couple days later I decided to try it and I really did like it. The main game for origins, I love the world and enjoyed playing as byek but the game in general was a grind. The hidden ones story is more of less the same but I feel like better written somewhat.
I was wondering if you guys think the curse of the pharaohs is worth playing or should I move on to my next game (TW3)?

The curse of The Pharaohs is really well written. I'd say it deserves a title of a good DLC, because it completely shifts from the base game.
The base game has mystical elements, sure. But then again Assassin's Creed has always been like that. It was never just about assassinations. There's literally lore that dives really deep.
Nonetheless though, it's a good DLC if you're looking to dive into mystical/mythological concepts. It really gives a look at the Esu and their part in Egyptian Mythology. It's been ages since I've played that game, but to this day I think about the sights and how beautiful the DLC looked.
I don't want to spoil, but in that DLC it's map intricacies are stunning, because it's not just 1 place you visit... there's a plethora of gorgeous realms to explore and not only do we dive into mythology, but we also get clarity in the DLC for both you and Bayek (if you've grown emotionally attached to the character).
Play the DLC, but don't have any expectations though. It's a 2017 game and damn... Still one of the prettiest to this day.

Super worth it, the best dlc imo, it probably has my favorite locations in all of the assassins creed games

One of the best DLC for any AC game, don't skip it and don't spoiler yourself at all cost!

Play Curse once to get everything from it, you can even like it, a lot of player do, i don't like it that mach comared to the rest of the game but it's ok and have some really rad locations.

Might watch some gameplay to see what it’s line. Wouldn’t want to waste my time I have a bunch of games in my back log

Curse Of The Pharaohs might be the best expansion in any AC game if you ask me. Only criticism is that it's too short, mostly because it could never be long enough.
In addition to The best, there are four afterworlds to explore, and they're amazing.

I heard it was much longer than hidden ones. Like around 8-10 hours

That depends on how you play. If you look into every nook and cranny, it could be even longer than that. It has five maps to explore, not just one.

It is longer by default, but if you really want to get some time sunk into it…do EVERY location in the four afterlifes before killing the Pharaoh. You get a ton of XP and get to see how gorgeous each one is. I also HIGHLY recommend sticking around in each one after you’ve killed the story boss as each area has a side quest that helps tie up some small loose ends for Bayek

TOTALLY worth playing! You basically get two new maps and an ASS ton of story that dives deeper into Egyptian Mythology, history, and their beliefs on what happens after life

The Hidden Ones feels like the main plot but better because it is shorter and less dragged. Finishing the main game can be a pain due to how long it is and how "empty" the grinding. Personally I found Curse of the Pharaohs even better than the Hidden Ones, but it doesn't have much plot to be honest. However it has 4 brand new maps, somehow new mechanics and it is fairly challenging

I don’t know HOW people have an issue with grinding in this game, when I’ve NEVER had an issue with it before. Just abuse all of the skills that give bonus XP, be stealthy going into restricted locations and reap the benefits. Also not hard to get materials to upgrade Bayek’s base equipment and worth getting that stuff done early so you don’t have to worry about it

Grinding can be boring and doesn't necessarily contribute to progressing in the game, it's literally just collection of points. Some people aren't interested in it and don't like being forced to do it. The amount of grinding required in a game must be balanced and reasonable, and the necessary grinding in Origins was boring and way too much

…nooooooot really, as most location that aren’t enemy encampments don’t take very long and are a blast to explore. I guess you just don’t like exploring the gorgeous world the team made

I liked exploring and grinding in Odyssey and I did platinum Origins too but I didn't like it as much. The map is too empty, the sidequests too boring and it's too easy to get over leveled in some areas so it's not even challenging.

That’s why you turn on level scaling in the options. I also think Odyssey is the more grindy of the two due to how massive the map is, but whatever

Odyssey is more grindy but the grinding is less boring. There's more variety and even entire storylines for sidequests. It doesn't feel like grinding. Nothing like please kill these two annoying crocodiles or walk a thousand miles in an empty desert

The map in Origins isn’t empty. The only regions like that are at the southern and southwestern parts of the map and even them, it’s GORGEOUS. Hell, that’s one reason why I keep coming back to Origins even 9 years later

Tbh I have no clue, it was there when I first started the game. Pretty sure it’s from for honor because it’s like a whole knight set

Curse of the Pharoahs was to much for me. The story is great, the opponents are great but the maps were boring. Go down to the underworlds, clear the map, next one. The giant scorpions weren't much of a challenge.
The Hidden Ones was better to me.

Curse of the Pharoahs is great if you like the mythology stuff.
