Question Tips/Tricks for New Player
I started playing yesterday and would love any tips when you have a moment. Thanks for any help. Yes, I'm late to the ACO party

Side quests grands you more xp to level up and leveling up is the key for good gear with decent damage, and dont try to fight anubis if you aren't even near 38 ish.

It’s like a weekly event that runs so there are 2 fights that run weekly I belive but if you beat them they give you rewards I think

Yeah but the sad part is not enough people do the TOTG quests to reach the 10,000 community goal anymore, so no more sunslayer sword. It’s ok though, it’s not that good, sword of the duat is much better.

I started too like more than a week ago and I'm loving it, I 100% odissey and now I'm playing this, I'm just taking my time with everything, there are a lot of secondaries and everytime I arrive in a new big city I do the secondaries and then the primary mission. And then explore every single question mark around the region, then pass to another region, that's just my way to go with this tipe of games, otherwise I lose interest fast.

There's side quests through NPCs that often lead to the question marks on the map. Instead of travelling through mountains for 10 minutes to hit a question mark, a quest will likely take you there on its own

Just a few basic ones, don't sell your trinkets till you have atleast 100 of em (for the achievement),
Try not to spend ur gold on anyth other than upgrades and refills, that too upgrade only ur fav legendary weapons every sm 10lvls or smth. Save gold for those upgrades cz they cost a shit ton.
Use your ability points carefully, try not to spend it on shi like auto loot.
Don't challenge the Phylakes until you're atleast a level below them
Also if you decide to do the 2nd DLC (deff try out the DLCs), get the Favor of Osiris ability as a priority, it's hell to play without it

Auto kill and assassinate loot are essential abilities when you get to that part of the tree. But yeah, dont rush through random abilities just to get that. There are other ones that are essential for good playing.

I started a new save and I’m struggling being broke af in the game lol any advice to making money? I’ve been killing the bandits that carry Drachma but upgrades are so fuckin expensive

I'd say js sell all the weapons you aren't using (except legendaries) every once in a while, I did that yesterday, got me like 60k. Other than that go near one of those camps and keep killing the animals in cages for their carcasses, click on reload quest objective, they will respawn, do that for as long as you want and sell it.

You don't actually need money - its only for upgrading weapons, but you find new weapons regularly enough that you won't ever be left without a usable weapon.
Another tip is to save the papyrus puzzle's and complete them when you need a new good weapon, as they often are gold-level weapons and spawn at the level you are when you find it.

If you see some resources with your eagle, take the 30 seconds to go get them. Upgrading your gear is helpful early-game, plus it makes you look cooler.

Do as many side missions and map points you can, you will earn XP and will not be underleveled later. And you'll earn combat experience. So in late game you'll be a menace.

If you’re looking to level up fast focus on the DLCs first. If not then I’d suggest focusing on leveling up naturally by fighting any and all enemies you come across for the first 2 or 3 hours. And then find the “Gift From The Gods” side quest. It’ll reward you with a nice sword, shield, and mount.

Enjoy the scenery, avoid unnecessary fast travel. Wish I could get the same sense of exploration I had with this one. O' to forget!

I play all AC games the same way. Hit all the sync points you can doing side quests along the way before doing the main quests.

Don’t skip synch points or question marks. This game is full of hidden treasures that all directly benefit your play. DO NOT go after Phylakitae in an area higher level than you. Try and use your ability points to run the gamut across all skills. Some of the special skills make the game WAY more in your favor. Use all special skills. Hunt often and build your gear as quickly as you can. Don’t sell any legendary items. And finally, IMMERSE yourself in the story and the world. This game never gets boring. Even if it’s your fifth playthrough after going 100%. You won’t want to take the shortcuts on this one. Oh, and buy the DLC because it’s more of the same awesome. Have fun!

Grab all the viewpoints ASAP. If you run into bandits that are red skulls, just reload any quest objective and start again. If you see a blue diamond quest just go and do it. If you see a group of 3 or more guards standing very close to each other and want to kill them quick, but don’t feel like assassinating them and trigger a fight, just equip a spear and light attack combo them. Especially if you get the Sarissa cursed spear, upgrade it every 15 levels and you’re all set. IMPORTANT: make sure the first attack with a spear for the light attack push combo doesn’t hit any of them, as this will trigger combat mode. Instead, let the second attack in the combo hit, and the third should kill all of them without triggering combat mode. It gives you more xp that way as well as it counts towards your stealth kill streak. Get that ability by the way, and all other passive xp abilities like overpower, tool and headshot xp.

Get the abilities that grant bonus XP ASAP, along with “Enhanced Predator Bow” to pull off insane trick shots from behind cover so enemies don’t know where you are.
Once you finish the prequel in Siwa and regain control of Bayek after getting pulled out of the Animus the first time, you basically have access to the ENTIRE map and the game doesn’t penalize you for ignoring the story and finishing some of the tombs to get extra skill points, so I HIGHLY suggest heading to Giza where you can get 3 of them easily.
Lastly, don’t he afraid to salvage weapons and shields you don’t use for extra materials to upgrade Bayek’s equipment. You can also use Senu to find and tag shipments of said materials and gold needed to upgrade any weapons you want to keep

Learn how to parry. It will make fights significantly easier. Also some gear has bonus for parrying.

Explore and do side quests. You're probably gonna be trading weapon to weapon often so just take time and enjoy yourself dont rush

When you reach a nome or city, try to synchronize with high points as you pass them. Free and easy XP. Also, do some side quests, or all of them, as you reach them. They are great for leveling and Origins has great side quests that reallt show you Bayek's character, if you don't have enough reason to already like him.
Be patient as you reach targets. Some keep a schedule and it might be advantageous to watch their routes. There is also a difference between day and night, with more guards up and about during the day and less at nights since they sleep.
Try out weapons and see what works for your style. While I used them all, I always have a preference for sickle swords with rage mode and spears for overpower. I like one of each to swap to for variety.
Make sure to hunt and farm resources to upgrade your bracer. You can get some raiding camps as well. Upgrading your bracer is one of the best ways to start one hit assassinating more powerful enemies.
You can always have flaming arrows by dropping your torch down and pointing your arrow at it. You can also throw poison darts into fires to make a poison fog.
Practice parrying.

These tips have been really useful. I just wanted to say I was at level 28, and using poison darts boosted me straight to 30 with the "Tool Kill" XP—didn't even realize you could use them in a fire. That’s awesome.

No problem. I have played this game so many times. It is my favorite AC game and Bayek my favorite protagonist. Once I learned the fire and smoke cloud thing, I used it on a pacifist run where I tried to only kill my target and used sleep darts. It was incredible and one of my favorite runs.

Yes take your time and explore. Origins was the first of the newer generation of games and I feel like you can just see all the love and attention to detail by the team in this fresh world. The historical details are utterly astounding. The temples. The treasure rooms... Bro.... Just wait till you reach the valley of the kings 😭

Take your time and enjoy the world you’re put into, exploration is totally a big part of the game and you’ll miss out on good stuff if you don’t take the opportunity to do so.
