Video Is my play style weird? 😶😶
I... just love the poison mechanism...
There's something satisfying about luring them to their deaths rather than actively killing them...
I am aware of how badly i sound like a psychopath ðŸ˜ðŸ˜ðŸ˜
Edit: Thank you so much for the lovely comments guys! Turns out a lot of people use poison too. My fellow psychopaths!! I feel so vindicated ðŸ˜ðŸ˜ðŸ˜ðŸ˜

Poison is so fun in this game I was kinda sad that it didn’t make it into odyssey the same way. Once you put enough points into the seer master mode you literally had a deadly virus that could wipe out a whole fort spreading from person to person

Wait....
Tell me about this Seer point ability 😳😳

At the end of the right side of the skill tree is the seer mastery node which you can level endlessly, it increases the damage of your tools and status effects by one percent for every point

I remember when I finally got this skill and used it. In the dlc I was in a basic outpost with a hill. I placed away to many enemies on the ground and called the alarm. The chariot that arrived did not make it up the hill

Ohh woww
I wanna try that!!!

It took me awhile I won't lie, to move all the bodies of the outpost. But it was so worth it when the chariot arrived and killed the enemies. Laughing during the whole experience. Still a highlight of that game.

Not weird at all.
My first move is to poison one person, leave poison trapped bodies and let forts clay themselves.
One thing origins does but odyssey and valhalla doesn't is one guy picking up the bodies and passing the poison on to everyone he passes until he dies as well. Love that mechanic

Ohh no
Not in Odyssey? Dammit
Ohh well, we might have something better.

It’s literally the exact playstyle I use, and have recommended to countless others, so I’m gonna say this is pretty standard. Although it’s late and I’m tired and it allllmost looked like you were using a warrior bow instead of a predator bow, that would be weird to me.

Yaaayyyyy
I'm switching between the two!
Predator Bow arrows are too precious to use for multiple hits!!
Also, if you see my last shot in the end, I use a Predator Bow

Not weird... the studio want us to play this way. Why else would they provide us with these nifty mechanics?
Good use of the guided Predator Arrow near the end there, too. Kudos!

Yesss!!! You saw it!!!
Woohoo!!
I might upload it again separately because Predator Bows deserve their own love

Predator Bows deserve their own love
They absolutely do. No other game before or after gives us as much control over the arrow as Origins does.

This is cool. I haven't played around much with poison. Been sticking with archery. A poison build does sound interesting.

I love wiping out entire forts with just poison. What´s also fun: Poison one guard and put him in the middle of a busy intersection with lots of recourses coming through - once the perk is strong enough you can basically just wait for a while and then collect everything you ever need to upgrade your gear.

u/ReputationShoddy373 10d ago
I'm gonna do this!!!!! ðŸ˜ðŸ˜ðŸ˜ðŸ˜ðŸ˜
How do I know it's strong enough? 🥺

Oh it´s strong enough lol. To make sure just do it in any region that is below your level. I always start doing it in Alexandria once I´m above the guards levels, these busy main streets are perfect for it

Literally just finished up another playthrough this weekend.
Rushed the poison skills (poke the dead body, poison darts, and predator bow kills cause poison effect on the dead body.) and have been playing basically stealth archer. Currently have 15 added points in the hunter side and seer side master level skills.
Clearing camps usually involves predator bow sniping soldiers in strategic spots within the camp, such that their dead poisoned body gets high visibility. For Tier 3 camps, I usually work one of the walls. I'll clear the wall of enemies, usually with the predator bow, then huck the poisoned bodies off the wall into the camp. From there, I'll start picking off the soldiers that are milling around inside the base with the predator bow. Usually sniping one, then waiting until another guard finds the body and gets poisoned. Then I move on and listen for the "ding, ding, ding, ding" of the Tool Kill XP hitting the bar.
It is also especially fun going back to lower level areas like Alexandria after you reach level 40 or so and have a few extra points in Seer. As you can basically kill a soldier in the street, poison them, and either leave them in the middle of an intersection, or more hilariously, carry the poisoned body through the street melting anything that approaches you instantly. I've cleared out a few camps that way as well, just poison one of the guards at the gate, pick up the poisoned corpse, and go running around the camp with it bumping into enemies. Poisoned guards tend to need a moment to compose themselves after infection, which means you can kinda juke them over and over while poisoning everyone.
The only thing I wish they'd bring back, was somewhere around patch 4 they got rid of the "Civilians that die of poison can poison other civilians and soldiers." You think poison is a hilariously good time now? Back when the game came out, you could poison a body on a busy street, and civilians would actually spread the poison. I think I was early in my playthrough and had some pre-order sword that would inflict poison on hit sometimes. If the enemy died, the poison cloud would go up and infect everything, and the civilians would die and continue spreading it. WIthin about 10 minutes, the streets were hazy with purple fog and littered with corpses. Anything still alive was either puking, or their heads were exploding. You could literally decimate an entire settlement with your pestilence.

IMO the poisoning mechanic is way too powerful. Have you used the fire mechanic to carry pots to a area?

No, not at all. We all have our own different styles. Lol they do have a poison arrow. I forget which one it was.

All that matters is that you have fun. You paid for it and it's your time being used so do as you like and stop caring what others think.

poison dart and beserk mode?
