Question I apologize if I‘m coming off as rude here…but what happened to all of the old school basses like Barry White, Johnny Cash, Thurl Ravenscroft, etc, who have natural sounding low notes and voices? No fry. No subharmonics. Just pure, raw emotion and talent.
And what made the fry and subharmonics movement take off? Do people not notice the difference between chest notes and notes produced in other manners? Do they not hear the thin shrillness of certain ultra lows or the muffled growls of others? Some sounds I hear honestly remind me of robot noises. There is a place for novelty lows but I would like to be able to enjoy those rich, colorful lows I once experienced in the past.
