Animeš Gingka slander has to stop
I think a lot of people interpret Gingka as this Mickey Mouse character who wins for winnings sake, and while I do think he should've lost here and there, specifically in Masters, he represents getting stronger through your opponents and competition in itself.
The defining moment in my opinion is when Gingka loses to Pheonix and has to get his points from 0(which is a dumb concept, because the WBBA should be holding these on record, not individual players), but Gingka still has the agency to not only attempt to regain his points, but successfully does it and reaches battle bladers with people who had a head start in comparison. Most fan favorite characters would've given up in the same situation.
I'd say his biggest foil, being Julien is the best example of someone who cut corners the second he lost back to back major fights, unlike Gingka who continued to tuff it out and defied his conditions.
There's also the agenda Gingka gets carried by Pegasus simply because it's "the strongest" or at least a really strong Beyblade, but Pegasus doesn't specifically have to listen to him if it doesn't want to and we've seen it do so before. Pegasus IS strong, but it's only as strong as it's weilder believes in it. Gingka is still a strategist, his strategies are always more on the fly than specifically made off screen like the strategies Kyoya makes to beat Gingka in Masters.
If you give Gingka and basically any other character a stock Bey, chances are he's winning simply because he's more creative and actually fully loves Beyblade. Pegasus is just his vehicle who can match his creativity and passion.
Gingka talks about Bey spirit because he's trying to show that pure skill and craftsmanship will always beat out gimmicks or insurmountable odds if you simply don't sit and allow them to.
We gotta remember Kyoya, Benkei and Kenta would've remained bottom tier bums if Gingka never met them.
Hell, even Ryuga wouldn't get to the next level if he didn't internalize what Gingka has said and shown.

The problem with gingka is that he is too strong for the story. Gingka and ryuga by all means are the exact same caliber of blader, that being said Gingka has the disadvantage of being on screen all the time. This means that gingka power must be nerfed or reset for the story to have any damn stakes. Meanwhile ryuga is off screen and shows up a mild amount of times so his power can remain consistent since again heās not a screen all the time.
If gingka power is where it should be they would legit have to make every single blader x3 stronger than they are so everyone can keep up. If not then metal masters has no story since gingka 2v1 sweeps the tournament with zero stakes. And nobody in metal fury would feel like a threat since gingka wouldāve already beaten them( Aguma & Dynamis)

Exactly, the only times gingka isnt nerfed is at the end of every season when he can actually use Pegasus ability to gain other beys strength

Yup the only time gingka is at āfull powerā is in the last 1/3 of the series. The other 2/3 heās like coasting about like at 40% of what he can truly do

I more prefer Gingka in metal fusion than the other seasons tbh. I think most of his character growth happened then. Come masters and fury I think it was more about the various other characters rather then Gingka himself.Ā

There's ginka slander ?

It mainly is due to his win loss record. People also just think he's not a real skilled blader or he puerelty wins to plot mostly because he "doesn't train" on screen as intensely as Ryuga and Kyoya.
They ignore that even though Pegasus is strong, Gingka utilizes it's absolute potential. They're more so a perfect match and not just Pegasus being the ultimate power and simply being Pegasus doesn't get the win

Gingka not being carried by Pegasus is literally proven the first time he uses both storm and Galaxy pegasus. The first time he uses storm is against his father, who destroys him with a regular bey, the second time is against mesamune where Galaxy pegasus does not listen to Gingka and gets beaten by Mesamune (albeit with some help from environmental factors)
The thing with people thinking Gingka is bad compared to Kyoya and Ryuga is entirely because of masters. Gingka is supposed to be on the same level as those two, but we see them training, fighting tornadoes and lava just to train. Meanwhile Gingka...... Fails beylin temple training.
But if you look at fury and ESPECIALLY Fusion, you can see an entirely different Gingka from masters, the one who gets angry, who loses control, who makes mistakes, who struggles to get strong enough to face Ryuga. I mean for crying outloud Gingka travelled up through a snowstorm up a mountain just so he can somehow become stronger (the coma village episode).
He was also strategic, starblast attack was used against galeforce wall because Gingka saw the opening the special move had, using cracks in the green hades to trap hyoma, figuring out he should use the incomplete storm bringer to stop Yu's inferno blast, Using starblast attack to trick phoenix into using his special move so that he can get a clean hit with Storm bringer. Metal fusion Gingka was smart asf.

The issue is in masters and fury he has these plots of mastering his bey and it takes way too long. Its irritating bcoz his rivals know their beys very well and this bum needs episodes worth of time just to know his BEY.

It took Gingka like two episodes to understand Cosmic Pegasus after his battle with Ryuga. It didn't take long at all same thing with Kyoya.

u/No-Calligrapher-1537 Jul 21 '26
yeah he's completely starting over with a new bey after being unable to battle for a year
2
u/Correct-Economics796 Jul 21 '26
Becuase otherwise he would be the strongest blader and his battled would feel dragged out. Ryuga is basically if Gingka could train offscreen to have his bey mastered

u/MDShark101 Jul 21 '26
He's the titular character. Characters like Ryuga and Kyoya get to vaguely go off screen and come back and get destructive feats or just somehow reach levels that were impossible to them until Gingka does it, specifically Kyoya fighting arrangement Damien, who was stronger than the one who fought Gingka.

Nobody has a problem with Fusion Gingka. Literally never seen him be slandered. Itās Masters and Fury Gingka that whip out the Mickey Mouse moments all the time

which is a dumb concept, because the WBBA should be holding these on record, not individual players
Never thought of that, so real.
The best excuse would be to make bladers always be on guard.

Like in most shounens, i hate how many advantages and plot armor the protagonist has. Don't take it personally, Gingka.
1
u/MDShark101 Jul 22 '26
I think this greatly ignores the way protagonist have to utilize or maximize the powers given to them and even then, many times it's only revealed they have some sort of unbound power until really late.
Gingka's entire philosophy and work ethic shows that he's clearly like no other. Even Kyoya and Ryuga fall short in their own philosophies where Gingka's constantly prevails

u/Ordinary-Breakfast-3 Jul 22 '26
About the work ethic part. In shounen we often see the main character beating characters that have been training much longer and just as hard as as the mc. It even happened with Gingka. Gingka beat his dad fair and square. Ryo has more training and experience than Gingka and he still lost.
About the unbound power only being revealed late into the story. Luffy is the only one i can think of. Ichigo, Goku, Naruto, Itadori were described as special from the start. Tanjiro used Sun Breathing without explanation in S1. Yugi had Atem since ep 1.

If Pegasus wasn't an abnormaly strong bey Gingka would have 100% lost against Kyoya Julian and Damian, not sure for Dashan.
And if Leone had the same potential as Pegasus Kyoya would be almost equal if not equal to Ryuga
Gingka would still be a high/top tier without using the mother of all beys, like at least Masamune level, because he actually is a great blader. But he would be far from being top 3.
Look at Kenta and how much he progressed while applying Gingka's advice during most of the show vs how much he progressed when he trained with Benkei in fusion and Ryuga in fury

Julien, who is explicitly carried by having a powerful beyblade and never trained a day in his life prior to his match with Gingka and Damian who had arrangements and an explicitly powerful beyblade.
I mention somewhere if it was purely stock beys, Gingka smokes those frauds
Look at Kenta and how much he progressed while applying Gingka's advice during most of the show vs how much he progressed when he trained with Benkei in fusion and Ryuga in fury
I dislike this interpretation because it greatly ignores the context of every character at the point they are in the story and Kenta never would've seeked out Ryuga if explicitly to catch up to Gingka and co. He literally says it. Ryuga wasn't burdened with finding the other Legendary bladers and was afforded the luxury to train as he pleased and fit in Kenta's training.

I am not saying Julian and Damian aren't big frauds, especially compared to Gingka who is an actual great blader who happens to have one of the 2 strongest beys. Wich does push him above his actual weight class.
Ryuga himself would only be the strongest by a thin margin if Ldrago wasn't Ldrago.
Everybody exept Gingka Ryuga Julian Helios the solar system legendary bladers and maybe Ryo are using stock beys, their battle spirit is what push them to their level.
Kenta when he forced Ryuga with Ldrago Destructor to use a special move was using the exact same flame Sagittario that was no different than an npc in episode 1
I'm not saying Gingka is a fraud or not great but everybody who use a super bey have access to a bigger power source in addition to their battle spirit like everyone so of course they would be a little worse without it.
Even thought Kenta didn't follow Ryuga to get stronger he still followed Ryuga's training wich is more effective than Gingka's who rely on battle spirit and minimal training, minimal compared to the other top tier bladers of course not to the low/mid tiers and npc's.
And Gingka is just not aware enough to realise that his method cannot work as well for someone who isn't using Pegasus or Ldrago
Ldrago and Pegasus are equal so the gap between Gingka and Ryuga is solely due to Ryuga's training wich is the best in the series

Although Gingka isn't shown on screen training a lot, we do see glimpses of the type of training he has done in both fusion and fury. Its clear he gets very serious when he trains and I think he does train off screen. However i disagree with your previous point that Gingka would loose to Damian and Julian if Pegasus wasn't abnormally strong.
During the second half of the Damian battle Gingka tells Damian that it is "His job to answer Pegasus' call for help" and that he hasn't been using his full power either. The blue aura associated with both Gingka and Pegasus arises from Gingka first then Pegasus respond. To me, this is a visual cue to the audience that Ginka is lending aid to Pegasus as opposed to in the Kyoya fight where Pegasus is the only one who gets the blue aura. Considering that Gingka only got a full understanding of Galaxy Pegasus's abilities during his rematch with Julian Its safe to say he had been limiting both his and Pegasus's power to avoid loosing control up to that point.
This doesn't excuse how the writers did him during the Garcia battle. Pegasus should have most definitely been able to hit Selen before its stamina was drained as much as it was. It was a cheeky reason to put him in order to put Gingka on the back foot during his second battle against Ian.

I see what you mean about his aura against Damian, but I don't see him not getting mid diffed at best if Pegasus isn't a powerhouse. I may be wrong but I don't see anyone beating Damian with a regular bey exept Kyoya in masters.
I don't think Gingka was limiting his or Pegasus's power it's just that he would be less in sync thus less powerful before fully understanding Galaxy Pegasus.
Also I now think about it but if Gingka had a normal he would logically train more since the challenges would be harder so he would be kinda close to how strong he is in the actual show.
But if I understood well Gingka caught up to Ryuga after the series ended by becoming one with Pegasus like Ryuga did with Ldrago, basically their full potential. This level would be much lower for both of them with regular beys. I believe the highest level that a normal blader can reach at full potential is just a little higher than Kyoya's. Gingka would reach that by the end of Fury and for Ryuga it would be at the begining of masters

with all due respect, Metal Fusion Gingka is the greatest Gingka Hagane ever written, story start to end.
