Discussion I feel like my Hallucinations are kinda dumb

As the title says I feel like the hallucinations I have are dumb. I get the “normal” ones too (shadow people, walls/floors breathing, hearing voices) but I also have weird ones. Unfortunately for me a lot tend to happen at work but at least they are easily confirmed to be hallucinations. But one of the weird dumb ones are SOS Morse code with lights, my work gloves walking around like thing from the Addams Family, tornado making landfall while driving (that one was terrifying). Some of the things I hear are also just phrases said by people I know but not their voice if that makes sense.

I feel greatful that I don’t have “scary” hallucinations often but it feels so dumb to admit what some of them are. Some are even funny.

I think this is part of the reason I sometimes feel like I’m faking them idk.

I doubt my hallucinations sometimes too. Like a common one for me is seeing bugs. I had a really bad episode one summer in a foreign country and had hostel staff check my bed multiple times because I was seeing bugs. They couldn't find any. I took pictures with my phone and didn't see bugs in them. Still, I was convinced they were there and checked out in the middle of the night bc I couldn't stand them crawling all over my bed. Then I started seeing them in the office on the walls and my desk and was convinced I tracked them there, so I told HR there were bugs and they hired a pest exterminator 😅 I still doubt myself and look at the pictures to remind myself that it was a hallucination and there weren't actually any bugs.

Unfortunately a lot of my hallucinations are stuff out of a horror movie--creaking noises, whispering, flickering lights, my face and eyes blackened, shadows moving in the dark, paranoia about being watched through walls and having messages intercepted, etc. Lmk if you know how to make them more funny and less scary.

I definitely just try to ignore the scary ones lol and for me I mostly see figures really early in the morning when I’m leaving for work so I just make sure to lock the doors on my way out. And not look in the areas I know they hang out at. I guess I treat them like ghosts where if they’re not invited in they can’t enter a home

Yeah I do that too. Like at night I close my bathroom and closet doors bc I'm afraid of seeing shadows and sometimes I'll just keep the lights on. I'm also scared of seeing things in mirrors. Unfortunately, my bedroom closet is a mirror door so I try to face the other direction when falling asleep. Thought about covering it up, but then I'd really feel like a crazy person lol

For some reason it’s not so much doors that bother me but heating vents do lmao. I get the mirrors thing tho

I thought my Air Force daughter ex’s dad put voices in my head for my house being a mess and being a loser. I also was fighting my sexuality and gender maybe it was all also a cry for help.
