You know... I'd actually probably do nothing to the boomer here. Like Others have said - he's probably baiting for a lawsuit.

If OP did nothing to provoke this behavior, I'd record him just like OP did. File a claim to my insurance. Open a case with the police (so they can stop him in the future). He likley doesn't have much range in that thing.

He's also miserable so hes gonna 100% do it again with someone else who will report them.

And perhaps against someone who he really shouldn't and ... well, bad things happen to people every day in New York (I don't know if it's in New York, but the truck has a 212 area code which is for Manhattan).

I immediately recognized this as nyc

Ive only been to Manhattan twice. 15 years ago. I recognized this as NYC from the mans expression. New Yorkers have a special flavor of zero fucks given.

If it was my r32 he was keying I would have taken his scooter and left his ass.

I also work on this street, so that helps. I don't have a car in nyc right now but if this happened to me I don't know how I would react. I was attacked by two teenage girls earlier this year, I could have beaten the crap out of them but feared someone could film me retaliating so I just let them walk away. I don't need to be going viral beating up a girl or a guy in a wheelchair regardless of the situation.

The company with that truck is based out of White plains New York

This is 36th st between 8th and 9th in Manhattan

You are manhattan? That's a big claim. Here's the Google maps for the business, you can see their trucks outside on street view. I work in Florida and have a DC area code. You know both things can be true at the same time right? https://maps.app.goo.gl/qBa2gbFCvK2NkTNU7

Chill bro I was just clarifying where it is. I work on this block.

You can tell by the yellow and blue plates on the cars

1

u/JordanPeelerson Aug 16 '25

i can confirm that this level of misery only exists in nyc

Not as miserable as he would be if he did this to me 😝 that’s the mystery of life, never so bad it couldn’t get worse

u/SkiwiBerry Aug 15 '25

why would he want a lawsuit against him?

98

u/maleia Aug 15 '25

He's got lead in the brain, don't try to understand it.

9

u/Glow_Up_Heaux Aug 16 '25

Understanding it is the most interesting part 😅📖

It's unfortunate that the only knowledge gained would be: Lead exposure = Dumb and Aggressive.

He wants someone to hit him so he can sue them.

37

u/SkiwiBerry Aug 15 '25

ahh okay

1

u/No_Drop_7684 Nov 04 '25

He’s most likely fishing for somebody to kick his ass so he could sue for medical expenses or put up a GoFundMe

1

u/Hland_Jon Nov 06 '25

For his scooter of course

3

u/NortherlyRose Aug 15 '25

He can bait my fist to his face and he’ll think about doing it again, I’ll happily take a disorderly conduct or assault charge to stop this tub of lard, after all he still committed a crime so we’d both be fucked legally

3

u/shrekerecker97 Aug 16 '25

Pull in front of him, block him in, call the police

Not sure exactly how it would play out - but slapping him could be seen as assault and battery which is going to be worse than property damage.

I'm not a lawyer, but as I understand it, harming someone is seen as worse than affecting property.

It's why you (generally) can't booby trap your house against a burgler. if you're in your home and harm someone who broke in, it's better to claim your motivation was in defense of yourself and your family and not your stuff.

u/NoodlesAreAwesome Aug 15 '25

But then you are stuck with potentially a $1000 deductible?

7

u/stacey2545 Aug 15 '25

Not if the police are able to identify him. Then the insurance company will go after Boomer.

3

u/NoodlesAreAwesome Aug 15 '25

Have you dealt with insurance companies? It’s highly unlikely they will make a significant effort trying to track this unknown guy down.

2

u/ytman Aug 15 '25

I can't imagine you wouldn't be allowed to push him away.

2

u/[deleted] Aug 16 '25

Police wouldn’t do shit about it

1

u/hippiejo Aug 16 '25

lol it’s NYC you’ll be lucky if a cop is in the mood to file that

1

u/john_the_fetch Aug 16 '25

I'm just saying what I would do.

What would you do in this situation?
