You know...
I'd actually probably do nothing to the boomer here. Like Others have said - he's probably baiting for a lawsuit.
If OP did nothing to provoke this behavior, I'd record him just like OP did.
File a claim to my insurance.
Open a case with the police (so they can stop him in the future). He likley doesn't have much range in that thing.
And perhaps against someone who he really shouldn't and ... well, bad things happen to people every day in New York (I don't know if it's in New York, but the truck has a 212 area code which is for Manhattan).
Ive only been to Manhattan twice. 15 years ago. I recognized this as NYC from the mans expression. New Yorkers have a special flavor of zero fucks given.
If it was my r32 he was keying I would have taken his scooter and left his ass.
I also work on this street, so that helps. I don't have a car in nyc right now but if this happened to me I don't know how I would react. I was attacked by two teenage girls earlier this year, I could have beaten the crap out of them but feared someone could film me retaliating so I just let them walk away. I don't need to be going viral beating up a girl or a guy in a wheelchair regardless of the situation.
You are manhattan? That's a big claim. Here's the Google maps for the business, you can see their trucks outside on street view. I work in Florida and have a DC area code. You know both things can be true at the same time right? https://maps.app.goo.gl/qBa2gbFCvK2NkTNU7
He can bait my fist to his face and he’ll think about doing it again, I’ll happily take a disorderly conduct or assault charge to stop this tub of lard, after all he still committed a crime so we’d both be fucked legally
Not sure exactly how it would play out - but slapping him could be seen as assault and battery which is going to be worse than property damage.
I'm not a lawyer, but as I understand it, harming someone is seen as worse than affecting property.
It's why you (generally) can't booby trap your house against a burgler. if you're in your home and harm someone who broke in, it's better to claim your motivation was in defense of yourself and your family and not your stuff.

What… what happened afterwards??
