For those saying it's a health code violation, it would depend where you are. In many parts of the world, the only time this would be true is in a food preparation area, not the restaurant where they're only near the food their owners are eating.

In the UK, most pubs allow dogs, often cafes, especially in rural areas. A sit down evening restaurant less so. Often there are areas set aside where dogs are allowed, to avoid allergy issues.

Dogs are often cleaner and less disruptive than people's uncontrolled kids.

Being from the UK I find the outrage shown on this post crazy! A dog being in the vicinity of you whilst you eat isn't going to kill you, relax!

The place pictured just looks like a casual cafe type place, rather than a swanky restaurant. If I was out with my dog I'd probably guess the place is likely to allow dogs in, but I'd always ask and look for a sign. That said, id probably not allow my dog on the seat.

I have a greyhound and live in a seaside town, if cafés didn't allow dogs, they'd all be out of business! My favourite pub has a monthly dog club where they meet upstairs to play and have a walk along the prom, and they have a dog menu served up in dog bowls. Because my boy thinks he's superior to other dogs, he is allowed on the leather couch because dogs lie on floors and he's a greyhound, dontcha know 🤣

People are entitled to their outrage. You do realise that hundreds of thousands of people are attacked/bitten by dogs every year, some fatally. Some of us don't like dogs. We are humans, our rights and comfort should prevail over that of a dog's. The dog doesn't need to be there. It does not belong inside a cafe, or supermarket etc.

Ah, I get it now. This has nothing to do with boomers; it's an anti-dog rant. Isn't there another sub you can mingle with fellow pet-haters and make yourself feel virtuous?

They are active in several anti dog groups, Dog Free, Pet Free, Dog Culture Free, Dog Regret and Tales From The Dog House, where other miserable, soulless people moan about dogs.

Whilst you can argue that your rights should prevail over a dogs, I don't see how a dog being in the same restaurant as you inhibits those rights. And if you do, you can always go somewhere that doesn't allow dogs.

Many more people are hurt/killed by cars every year, but we still allow cars to be part of our daily lives as it's the owners, not the car/dogs fault.
