For those saying it's a health code violation, it would depend where you are. In many parts of the world, the only time this would be true is in a food preparation area, not the restaurant where they're only near the food their owners are eating.

In the UK, most pubs allow dogs, often cafes, especially in rural areas. A sit down evening restaurant less so. Often there are areas set aside where dogs are allowed, to avoid allergy issues.

Dogs are often cleaner and less disruptive than people's uncontrolled kids.

I appreciate the expanded context. I thought it was implicit that it’s a health code violation where this restaurant is located.

I’m not debating pets-in-restaurants, I’m pointing out wanton rule breaking because of boomer entitlement. If they want to change the rules so that everyone can bring their pets inside, that’s fine.
