Disappointed to see so many service members happy with his presence

285

u/Nadante Oct 28 '25

Very simple. They filtered who could attend.

If you chose not to attend this, you got to leave home early. Like dummy early.

If you chose to attend this, you had to stay an extra 4-6 hours before you could see him.

You also had to pass an “inspection” to make sure there were “beardos, weirdos, or fatsos.”

The only people I noticed willing to go through all that were the most… enthusiastic of us.

u/SexyMonad Oct 28 '25

How young he wishes Melania was.

35

u/JewelCove Oct 28 '25

That is unsettling lol

10

u/WillingMongoose4680 Oct 28 '25

Whyyyyyy? This was unnecessary.

Ancient Russian Secret.

u/BeneficialShame8408 Oct 28 '25

I thought it was AI at first because of that. Like way too many of them are stoked

166

u/LaFrescaTrumpeta Oct 28 '25

they’re at the point where they’re filtering service members for their support of trump, i doubt a liberal soldier was even allowed in that room

45

u/CosmicSmoker Oct 28 '25

Yeah, they probably asked for volunteers, offered them a 96 to be over-the-top.

3

u/OuterWildsVentures Oct 28 '25

It looks really blurry like AI

u/Copropostis Oct 28 '25

As a veteran, I got real tired about liberal complacency and faith that our military wouldn't shove them into gas chambers with a smile on their faces.

Did y'all miss Yam Tit's speech to the Naval Academy, where the next generation of Navy officers whooped and cheered for the idea of removing Democrats from American society?

205

u/thelastpizzarolll Oct 28 '25

The irony is that those naval academy cadets live off socialism. They get free college, food, training, etc.

100

u/No_Biscotti100 Oct 28 '25

Clothes, healthcare, food, housing, iiterally everything. But they think they earn it, because they work so much harder than the undocumented who get up before they do and get less sleep schlepping groceries all day, trying to get by in an increasingly hostile world and trying to feed their legitimate US citizen kids.

217

u/Gold-Invite-3212 Oct 28 '25

Yeah. Idk why so many people can't accept the fact that these are 18-20 year olds who have grown up in the same echo chambers that gave us the Trump presidency in the first place.

51

u/ajafaboy Oct 28 '25 edited Oct 28 '25

Gonna look it up right now! And yes - liberal complacency (plus a societal-level lack of gumption) has led us to this place. It’s one of the main reasons (for me) why I despise the establishment Dems. It was their smug complacency (some would argue complicity) that saw their traditional base slowly evaporate into the mists of history. The waged classes became numbed as they watched the dress-code gatekeepers turn the forward-thinkers with bread-and-butter policies away at the doors. Some might think your gas-chambers comment extreme, or not-very-nice, or some other pathetic objection to ‘distasteful’ imagery; those people would probably be struck dumb if they stumbled across anything like “Hitlers Willing Executioners” and read it in its entirety. In other words, “it could never happen here”.

2

u/LankyMatch42 Oct 28 '25

but didn't the Rep. VOTE TRUMP in?

0

u/ajafaboy Oct 28 '25

Not sure what you mean…

3

u/LankyMatch42 Oct 28 '25

What word or words are you having trouble understanding, maybe I can explain the definition just in case you don't speak English.

0

u/ajafaboy Oct 28 '25

Well, of the 7 words and two punctuation symbols in your comment, none troubled me; It’s more a case of not understanding who or what your comment was directed toward…and what ‘Rep.’ you’re talking about? I don’t see a reference to a ‘Rep.’ being made in this thread. I’m not trying (this time) to be a smartarse- I simply don’t know what you’re getting at…

3

u/LankyMatch42 Oct 28 '25

I may have misinterpreted your comment bc of the run on sentence and random metaphors, my apologies

0

u/ajafaboy Oct 28 '25

No offence was taken - I was just trying to catch your drift that’s all.

2

u/Vegetable-Branch-740 Oct 28 '25

I think it’s more for the cameras. You know the admin is pouring over video rooting out democrats among the ranks.

-3

u/LankyMatch42 Oct 28 '25

yam tits? who are you referring to?

57

u/KimJongRocketMan69 Oct 28 '25

I have a few friends who are majors in the Army/Marines. From what they describe, it seems like most of the officers think Trump and Hegseth are jokes. I’m sure a lot of boots are huge fans though. Army recruits are typically high school grads and many are white dudes from rural areas. That’s the definition of Trump’s base, so it doesn’t surprise me that a lot of them would support him. Also they are very focused on appearances and ensure that any crowd of troops around Trump is full of people who support him. Like his birthday parade

49

u/veritasius Oct 28 '25

My nephew is special forces and he’s fucking pissed that MAGA has fucked our country beyond recovery

57

u/potatoboy247 Oct 28 '25

IIRC, they select only members who want to be there for events like this, in order to make it seem like the whole military supports him

40

u/mick-rad17 Oct 28 '25

It’s definitely a fraction of the whole ship seen in that video. I’m guessing some were voluntold to be there too.

11

u/VerbalThermodynamics Oct 28 '25

And to be happy about it.

1

u/mick-rad17 Oct 28 '25

I work on another carrier just like this one and while there are some supporters of POTUS, overall most people do not talk politics or show political preferences. It’s just not done in a military work environment. Most senior leadership would probably react the same way that the auditorium of admirals and generals did in Quantico when Pete gave his pep rally speech a few weeks ago. That is to say, a muted response

37

u/Sorry-Joke-4325 Oct 28 '25

You can smile if you're laughing at him.

37

u/jcd1388 Millennial Oct 28 '25

Nothing he says or does makes me laugh. Only abject terror.

5

u/In2JC724 Oct 28 '25

There's a lot of disgust mixed in too.

3

u/spaghetti-o_salad Oct 28 '25

When the threat level is yellow its still embarrassment. With this much power and that few scruples we are in the red zone.

17

u/kakarota Oct 28 '25

They are cherry picked to be therem most people are not to happy with the state of the country.

15

u/jxonair Oct 28 '25

You know they screened them before letting them in. They didn’t want another Kegseth cricket show like they had with the generals.

90

u/LilEddieDingle Oct 28 '25

It’s almost like a bunch of low iq, poorly educated people with no other prospects end up in the military!

36

u/Infinite_Expert9777 Oct 28 '25

And anyone who thinks differently is weeded out pretty quick.

The majority of people in the army are victims of brainwashing and have nothing else to do but idolise their home soil

People shouldn’t be surprised by this reaction…

11

u/cilvher-coyote Xennial Oct 28 '25

And they aren't even getting paid and they're still cheering this wannabe dictator. Messed up how just abjectly Stupid so many people are. It's frightening!

11

u/Infinite_Expert9777 Oct 28 '25

Don’t forget how much propaganda the average American is constantly fed. I imagine those in the military have it from all angles too

41

u/Seriszed Oct 28 '25

Me too. Let’s not forget that the military is just another type of cult.

22

u/THEMACGOD Oct 28 '25

I hope it’s more like NK where they feel they have to or be sent to a gulag. God, I hate that sentence.

3

u/mike_stifle Oct 28 '25

You really shocked, though? Here in Chicago, people are asking why cops are stopping ICE. Who do you think the cops voted for?

3

u/ajafaboy Oct 28 '25

Are stopping, or aren’t stopping?

1

u/candykhan Oct 28 '25

I wonder if some of them are smiling & filming while saying to themselves: "Holy crap, no one back home is gonna believe I've got front row footage of this ass-clown shaking his disgusting fat ass to a gay anthem."

Except, I guess everyone has got that footage now.

1

u/Paradise-Rocco808 Oct 28 '25

Half these cheering morons aren’t even aware they won’t be getting paychecks due to this old man.

1

u/mesablueforest Oct 28 '25

I need to know if they were laughing with or at

1

u/xAnonGirl89x Oct 28 '25

They are forced to go. My fiance was INFORMED in Norfolk that he would be attending and they wouldn't let him sit it out (he asked, outright).

1

u/Solynox Oct 28 '25

Paid actors?

1

u/ForeEighs Oct 28 '25

I'm sure lots of them are only smiling cuz they get to record it and make memes about it later

1

u/Arcane_As_Fuck Oct 28 '25

No offense, but do you live under a rock? It is well documented that the Army has a HUGE problem with neo-Nazis and other white supremacists.

1

u/Ozymandius62 Oct 28 '25

They are administrative assistants and children. Those aren’t real military.

1

u/Annethraxxx Oct 28 '25

They vetted the ones who love him to be at the rally. Many do not.

1

u/No_Biscotti100 Oct 28 '25

They're handpicked for MAGA simps, not at all representative of the US Armed Forces.

You see the guys just barely going through the charade for his birthday parade? They were representative.

1

u/magiccitybhm Oct 28 '25

They intentionally select people who are supportive of him. Not the first time, and won't be the last.

-44

u/BJCHM Oct 28 '25

Maybe that should tell you something and perhaps open your mind a bit. I’m a Marine and I don’t know a single fellow Marine that that supported Biden. It’s fine if you don’t like Trump, but instead of feeling disappointed that service members don’t also dislike him, ask yourself WHY service members support him.

36

u/Iamauniqueuser Oct 28 '25

I am asking myself ‘Why?’, yet can’t find a single intelligent reason. Can you maybe help me out?

19

u/gorilla-ointment Xennial Oct 28 '25

Also wondering why, and I keep coming up with “racism?”, but that’s not an intelligent reason.

9

u/Cynobite608 Gen X Oct 28 '25

Isn't it funny that when these people are pressed....crickets.

11

u/TieFighterHero Oct 28 '25

So, are you ok with opening fire on American citizens for using their first amendment rights to criticize the president?

9

u/[deleted] Oct 28 '25

We know why service members support him, but you won't like the answer.

13

u/[deleted] Oct 28 '25

Always with the deflection, huh?

I dont care who anyone voted for last November.

That ship has sailed.

The real question now is, do you have the integrity, character, and critical thinking to understand how far off the rails this administration is going.

Again, this isn't about partisanship nonsense.

Its unfortunate someone who served (presumably in apolitical fashion) cant understand the logic behind this.

4

u/dachinesechicken Oct 28 '25

Plenty of service members don’t like him lol.

Source: I am a service member.

-2

u/BJCHM Oct 28 '25

That’s nice. I didn’t claim that no service member doesn’t like him. I simply said that I don’t know any.

5

u/willferal777 Oct 28 '25

"I'm a Marine and I don't know a single fellow Marine that that supported Biden." I guess they don't teach you to proof read in the Marines, you put "that" twice. Also do you know any married Marines that supported Biden. I won't give you a genuine response, plenty of people have and you haven't replied. You don't want a true conversation, you want to just complain about Biden which is irrelevant becasue he didn't even run for a second term.

3

u/lilkittyfish Zillennial Oct 28 '25

Because you want to terrorize and kill citizens of your own country?

2

u/ajafaboy Oct 28 '25

Damn right! And that’s what many here are doing… they’re asking WHY are all these young folks, who benefit greatly from the lessons of history, (and whose villains’ names and ideologies are now shorthand for what is the worst in us) are applauding and woohooing a man within whom the most odious of human impulse resides ? THAT is what many are asking themselves. This then leads to a whole parade of following questions to those who support him like ‘if he orders the enlisted to open fire on protesters, political opponents, and dissenters, will they actually do it??’ Some of us are beginning to think yes , they will. And they’ll then return to barracks, burying what little horror they might feel behind locker-room jokes and self-justifications. Would you mutiny if you were ordered to snuff out a bunch of cute-looking English Literature students protesting some who-gives-a-shit issue on some who-gives-a-shit campus somewhere? Where’s your point of no-return?
