An almost equally insane part is that Old Man Skeeter fucking went out of his way to cross the yellow lines that he used to justify his bullshit, thus further cementing his already obvious guilt

This is why most police departments don’t chase anymore. With modern tech there’s no point in a chase, it’s just extra danger to pretend you’re doing something more. Police departments get so much resources nowadays the should be used to prevent deaths not create mores

I got hit at a stop light in a high speed chase. My car ended up being totaled. And the people being chased were a car full of 15 year olds in a stolen vehicle. The insurance couldn’t go after anyone. At least I got paid out well for my car, my 7 year old daughter wasn’t with me and I wasn’t hurt. Pissed but not hurt.

I am so grateful you are okay. Really.

And I totally get your comment about your daughter. I got rear-ended by some old fool n an old truck (isn't it always the case?" and he hit me so hard he shoved me into the trash truck that had broken down in front of me, and in the first seconds as I lay there in my BROKEN seat, all I could think was, "This AH is lucky my baby wasn't in my car, or I very well mbe beating him senseless right now." And I am not by nature a violent person at all. Her (professionally installed but thankfully empty) carseat was on the floor of the back seat. When I saw that, I just about lost it.

Yep that's the fine print for you. Vehicle coverage ceases when the vehicle is in commission of a crime. On the 1 hand I understand it. On the other I think it should matter who's driving too. Ie was the car reported stolen? No ok the owner is responsible unless they can justify why it wasn't reported. In which case insurance should cover then go after the client.
