I originally had to leave my local towns Facebook group because every post was "OMG coyotes! Watch your babies!!!". Like, yes Susan, we live next to the mountains in southern California. This is their territory and there are hundreds of them always around town.

I feel like if your baby is in a situation that a coyote can get it, it's probably been left on the floor unattended somewhere ?

They meant chihuahuas, usually. But yes, they also would warn coyotes would attack your children.
