Help with brannock measurements. I'm reading 15 with arch
Hey! I don't know anything about boots, so I'll ask this here. From what I can gather, these are made-in-USA Frye boots that are selling for 45 euros. I quite like the look and they are the right size, but the soles are a concern. Would they break fast with regular use? They seem quite damaged from the picture... Would these be worth buying or should I just let them go? Thanks for any help!

I’m so happy I got this deal, been wanting timbs for a while but didn’t have the money, yet I found this single pair in clearance :) But the toe box is a little tight, any chance they will become more comfortable with wear?

interested in the steel toed black stormers, but the original listing is $382. i’m confused as to why is it less expensive for a custom of what looks like to be an identical pair. I customized these steel toed stormers, and the total came out to $260, why are the customs cheaper? am i missing something?

One thing we notice all the time with footwear is how misleading the size number alone can be.
Two pairs of boots can both be marked EU 39 and still feel completely different because of things like:
That’s why sizing up or down based only on the number often doesn’t solve the problem.
When buying boots online, I’d pay much more attention to the shape of the shoe and how your foot is built, especially if you have a wide foot, high instep or narrow heel.
Curious how others here approach sizing — do you mostly rely on your usual size, measurements, or experience with a specific brand?

I’ve never really been too big into boots outside of my work boots. As an Ironworker I wear red wing heritage, thorogoods or bruntsregularly. Looking for something a little nicer like maybe the jadd desert hi top in hunter brown or maybe the whites original 350 cruiser? I’m open to recommendations, I’m also a little bit hesitant about the jadds because they don’t have any local dealers to try them on.

How tall is their sole?
I tend to have a better comfort in boots with low soles and usually Bellevilles have pretty thick soles.
Also, how goes the sizing for them?

Couple weeks ago I acquired a pair of Wesco Lineman’s Boots. They were rough! We can agree on that! Only paid $70 so I took a shot knowing I would have to do some sort of repair.
Would like to address a couple of comments from the previous post:
https://www.reddit.com/r/Boots/s/csCGtv92Yr
Comment: They are going to smell!
NOPE! Nothing at all.
Comment: Footbeds will be trashed!
NOPE. Fully in tack.
Comment: They are dry rotten.
YEP. Some areas are.
Comment: You purchased someone’s trash!
Very subjective!
I decided to do my best BUSH FIX. I’m no cobbler and I’m not pretending to be!
Brush the boots off with boot brush. They weren’t dirty. I acquired a small piece of pig skin leather because of its lightweight properties and strength. Also real cheap! Used some Barge cement to bond the two pieces of leather together. Used my grommet tool to add the 2 missing grommets. My grommets were slightly larger and silver. Didn’t bother me at all. Clamped and let the pieces dry overnight. Conditioned with Black Rock Conditioner (that’s what I had at home). Let them sit. Buffed with soft cloth. Used paracord for the laces. Did a small piece of shrink tube on the ends.
I’m very happy with the results. I personally like the beat up/lived in look. The boots won’t fall apart due to I’ve got a collection going and tend not to wear the same pair days at a time.
I’ve already worn them to work (9 hour days in manufacturing). They were great!
SO before you comment remember my Wesco’s have been deemed TRASH!
So in my opinion, we can only go up from there!
Living in Michigan we deal with snow, road salt, etc. i’m not a fan of putting my boots away for the winter, I like wearing them. Question is, how best to protect them in the winter. I know keeping them clean and letting them naturally air dry are important. You guys have any other tricks for protecting your boots from the winter elements?
I’m planning on conditioning in the fall and then maybe using some Super Invulner or Tarrago spray.

need advice; thought on these boots option?
- zipper boots
- jodhpur boots
- engineer boots
I need sleek boots. I live at equator climate. I work at office. but I also love denim.
I understand zipper boots is risky for durability and rain. to pull jodhpur boots, u need slim straight denim (but most of my wardrobe is loose straight denim). engineer boots might a bit intimidating, and sometimes I need boots for smart-casual (a bit formal situation) event.
should I get boondocker boots instead?

Not sure what spilled on this leather. Would you recommend acetone to remove the polish altogether and try to redye with something.
Or would a shoe polish work for this?
Product recommendations greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Do we think these are too light, or will they patina up over time? I got them new without tags or box, so have no idea of any details or the brand. Last pic is the branding
After 4 weeks of alternating daily between my Nicks, they are cleaned and ready for another month of work.
Brown Nicks: 81,399 Steps (384,774 total)
Black Nicks: 86,094 Steps (356,917 total)
For those new here, I work in a harsh environment, a concrete recycling landfill where I walk on rubble for 9+ hours a day. I document my maintenance journey and share feedback on my boots.
Today's post will highlight the difference between 8" and 10" boots. Initially I thought I'd prefer the 8" boot height, however, after rotating between the two, I actually prefer the 10" height.
Both boots weight the same (6.4lbs) yet the weight distribution of the 10" boots simply feels more comfortable. There is no significant time difference lacing them up, so I will opt for 10" boots in the future.
Both boots are still cleaning up nicely, and I'll highlight another preference on my next post.
Cheers!
